      Stress cracks .. so
      Nothing to IT ..
      You culd use a oven to heat the sticks Up
      We often do that ..

    Lots of Watson booms in that yard. I keep up with 5 of them myself. The angle of the pocket on the stinger isn’t near as critical as the ones on the flights. Main thing on the stinger is that it keeps the auger centered as you start the hole. We do our stingers as an assembly so we can swap the entire thing out when that happens. Build them in the shop on a jig. On a core barrel the angles and super important!

    • @markfryer9880
      @markfryer9880 4 года назад +4

      From talking with welders Downunder in Melbourne, Australia, the answer seems to be failsafe simplicity of being able to rely on the old school visor no matter where you are or what position you are in. Batteries and electronics can let you down when you need to get the job done. Another consideration could be having room in the truck for more helmets. Each to their own.

    Here I was going to ask you about your weaving technique and you had to go and ruin it for me by explaining what you are doing. Bummer.
    Could you sometime do a dry run with your rod movement without power. Also, possibly experiment with using a filter so we could see the puddle sometimes.
    I'm an old fart but, you're teaching me a lot. Actually being motivated to repair and build some stuff around the yard.

      I'll be experimenting with some new ideas soon. I have to build up my video tool box first, haha. but yes, those ideas are in the works. thanks for mentioning them.
