I constantly see people in my classes and out in field start top to bottom. I know it can be done with certain rods but what do you preach and teach. Cause in this video they where going top to bottom also. Enjoy you videos also
@@TheWeldProfessor I guess what I was wanting to know is do you think the tie in and weld quality is better from bottom to top or in your experience does it matter?
@@Atm_Made_It I would recommend starting from bottom working way to top. Make sure all your prep work is good. Just recently I got to go watch the test, we had 14 welders testing for 6g for pipeline work for the company I work for. Only 3 passed out of the 14. Only common pattern I saw is the ones who failed started top to bottom and possible tie ins were not done well.

What lens is most common out there? Do you perfer a auto dark lens or a passive lens? Ive been trying to find a good on for my other hood. Ive been using a entry level lincoln auto dark hood. Also, should you be able to somewhat see things with a passive shade that is in a pancake or is that too light for high amp welding?
Sorry guys but i have to ask, im no expert, but taught differently, i was taught to grind every end of a rootpass for good tie-in, and on tacks i was taught to weld it only at bevels so i can grind to remove when i should, its confusing that is also a american standard we follow, but you guys doing other way around why is that?and also i was taught that its a no no going downhill on a pipe. Love these job keep it up...
i wish i had the money to get over there at one of your workshop times with my rig and practice with yall. i think i can do it, but i havent ran much pipe 5g that wasn't magnetised.
Luke Main the gap will either close up or widen and depending on where you’re at in reference to the pipe you need to run hotter or colder due to gravity.

should have turned the heat down a little and whip beaded where all the holes are on top till it tightened up a little

you have salary what camping on's in month how many is obtained
