One of the most impressive parts of this game for me is how the sound designers implemented over a hundred assets strictly for breathing. Every time Ellie is in running, walking, crouching, close to an enemy, or in combat, it defines how she’s breathing. Blows my mind.

i love how when his trailer came out people were making videos explaining how they faked the combat and it couldn't possibly be this smooth . Well jokes on you it fucking is ! I feel like people's opinions of the narrative get in the way of this huge achievement in gaming . i find myself replaying some encounters again again and every single time it feels just as raw dynamic and immersive as it did the first time (especially the hillcrest area , the first encounter with the seraphites and of course the fucking nightmare that called the rat king ).

I watched this after playing the game 3 times and I'm still excited withe every hit from Ellie like i wouldn't have played it! The gameplay still feels so awesome!!!

I loved everything. From the gameplay...to the storyline. I feel like a lot of people would be much happier, if instead of it being their beloved Joel, that it was Ellie that died instead. But uh, this whole entire storyline has so much purpose and realism. I mean...no other game franchise has been able to deliver quite like this one. I just. I dunno man, sometimes I really hate this gaming community here. Neil Druckmann came up with these characters. He grew them. It probably hurt him more than anyone else to lose this character. And as someone who is a writer myself, sometimes....we just KNOW a character dies. We know it as if its come from a different universe and we're just recalling everything that happened for this one. So I don't know. I was very upset about Joel but now its about grieving. This game...is beautiful. Everything about the characters...beautiful. The score...I listen to it almost every day. I just can't stand some of you and your hatred towards this beautiful and groundbreaking game because you wanted to live in this world where no one ever has to die. It's just life...thats all Druckmann was trying to say.
I agree completely, this game's story bleeds realism and is so beautiful in how it captures humanity's flaws (and strengths). I think a lot of people were just expecting another "Joel and Ellie Cross Country Adventure!" but Neil/NaughtyDog took a risk and did something new and did it well. TLOU2 is the game I will always point too (alongside RDR2) when people say games can't be Art.

I think the biggest reason why a lot of people were much less accepting towards Joel's death is the fact that we got so little time with him. Had there been a bit more time to spend with him, it could have made his death that much more meaningful. The fact that he's killed basically right away is honestly the biggest gut punch because that's what sets the tone. You spend very little time with the characters and then THAT happens and its like, fuck. The non-chronological storytelling for me is what fucks with everything too. It would've benefited the game to have told everything chronologically as well as separated the characters completely and had separate campaigns for Ellie and Abby respectively or throwing in some side stories with someone like Tommy or Joel. I applaud the risk in killing Joel off, but I absolutely hate that they didn't give fans some more story between Ellie and Joel before they killed him off. The ending with Joel and Ellie and how she wants to try and have a relationship with Joel again is beautiful but it has so much less impact than the alternative.
Yall haters are crying of how shit the story is when in fact it is the story and it is you guys that boosted this game on top making it 2020's GOTY. Thank you hahahaha. THE BEST GAME CAN'T WAIT FOR PART 3.

The sequel to the greatest video game ever made. At first, I didn’t really like what they did with the story at all. But now, I consider Part II to be the second greatest video game ever made. As someone who has been playing video games since 1978, that’s saying a lot.
After playing this part of the game several times, I must say it is not as technically perfect as this video shows, but, all the rest runs and looks the same. This is the most beautiful and brutal game I ever played.
