Hey Michael, thank you so much for this helpful video! I've just started to learn programming and I have to code an psychological online experiment with python by the end of the month, being completely overwhelmed and paralyzed for the last few weeks because I just did not know where and how to start (as you perfectly described it in the beginning; too many unknown steps in the process). Now I feel like I have an approach that helps me to start that huge project, which reminds me of the saying: "How you do eat an elephant? One bite at a time!". This was just exactly what I needed. Thanks again, you are awesome! :)
Thank you very much. Teaching a Python class to high school and this is good information on helping them plan their first "no hint" assignment. Also, I love the FLCL poster.
I appreciate the tips! I found myself chasing the unknown for a while here which was why I searched this. Did you ever try out diagrams? I'm currently learning plantuml and trying to understand the various types of diagrams (I'm a CS student too) and it seems like another world to explore. Playing with chatgpt has been another part of my learning and experimenting too. I hope I'm not wasting too much time.
Hi Michael, listening to the video as I am writing this message. Question: I never created a project at this level before. I have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS (excluding flexbox and grid) and now know the fundamentals of JavaScript. I want to create a to-do list similar to the one you made. you mentioned for a backend firebase, and I think you also mentioned an internal data base? Are you able to use MySQL to save the data when you create on the app your to-do object? Or should I simple use firebase from Google? Which would be easier to use for a beginner who has never done this before?
@@MichaelWhiteDev cool, thank you. I had to pause on my "To-Do" project. I had to learn flex-box. Having problems aligning the button with the which is the header for the page. So far I find CSS more complicated than JavaScript, learning factory functions and constructor functions as well. Once again thank you for the advice.

Firebase is the way to go for your first database. It's easy to set up and use so you'll get a good understanding of how things are supposed to work.
