  • This video details how to make you very own pop up camper cushion covers by sewing your own! We ended up using two different “outdoor fabrics,” which were just a simple canvas material to change up the look of our pop up campers cushions. Additionally, we used a vinyl “faux leather” to keep the bottom and backs of our cushions protected. For our four cushions, we utilized approximately 3 1/3 yards of canvas and approximately 3 yards of vinyl; however, your mileage may vary and we always buy extra to be on the safe side. Don’t forget the thread!
Now, when it comes down to creating your own camper cushion covers, it boils down to five - simple, albeit not simple - steps, which include:
    1. Remove cushions
    2. Seam rip
    3. Use old cushion covers to create patterns
    4. Sew on zippers
    5. Sew edges and corners
It really is that simple if you have some basic sewing knowledge and ability. Or now may be the time to learn! However, we understand that it can be frustrating, but it’s also okay to seam rip and start over if something doesn’t turn out right.

Looks great! That’s how I recovered mine!! And I reused the zippers too, but I was also able to reuse the vinyl backing.

You should use a zipper foot.

This don't have anything I do with custions. A interesting question came up on one of my pop up boards I follow on fb.
At what temperature would you worry about you vinyl Windows cracking when folding up the pop up?

Thanks for posting! Extremely helpful-- question-- why did you use a vinyl material on the backs? Why not just the same fabric all the way around?
