Great piece, inspiring. What people forget about the late 70s was that, even in spite of the economic issues, the aftermath of the Vietnam war, etc, it was also a time of optimism, particularly looking upward toward space. The science fiction of the time, be it Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and many other things, reflected that optimism and a sense that things could be better in the future even if things might not always be free of struggle and sacrifice on the way. Then came the 80s, materialism, the Challenger disaster, looking downward and inward, and it set the stage for people to become self-centered, anxious, turned against each other by politics, and waiting for the next shoe to drop. It really doesn't have to be this way, though. We can recapture that optimism and begin to guide our future again if we quit paying attention to people who profit from angst. Art, such as this music, is a stepping stone which promotes such a vision and a way forward into recapturing where we should be headed as a species, up to the stars, and not back into the cave.
Me too! I have been watching the original series on TUBI. So wonderful! The 1970s..... for a brief period America seemed to be moving in the right direction.
wow I remember the piece after the theme sing. God that sceen with Lorne Green in the ashes of his home knowing his wife was dead. Lorne green was an underrated actor a gentleman and polite solid actor. rip same to you Richard hatch.
When the great (albeit different) 2004 remake of BSG came out, it took me a while to fall in love with Bear McReary musical score, but it is superb. BUT I like that the producers used in 2 or 3 occasions the Stu Phillips original Fanfare, which is majestic, and it is used, mostly as the Colonies hymn.
When i was a boy my friend Baltar showed me a modell he mad it was star destroyer built very well my childhood i realy new him then he went on to be famouse to show tv
That soundtrack i was born with .. that i will die by ...
:)

One of the most beautiful, and elegant themes ever written…. Timeless 🌹
I was feeling "Battlestar-ish" when I got home from work. Plugged in the big speakers and let 'er rip! This fixed me right up! Many Thanks!
The magnificent theme from Battlestar Galactica! Thank you! 😀
One of the epic musical themes of my childhood
Such a classic theme that hasn't aged it comes up there with the imperial March from star wars
Yup. Still getting goose bumps every time I hear this song.
You can't listen to this and NOT see the Vipers and Raiders in the opening credits. ♥
Watched Battlestar as a kid growing up.... Loved it and always will. I wanted a muffit/dag-it
THE BEST VERSION!

Bless your heart. I've been looking for this more stately paced rendition FOREVER!
