  • Circuit Park Berghem Karting - On May 27th 2015 Advanced Racing Project drivers Justin Rotte and Berend Stofferis finished first in the ‘100 Laps of Berghem’ endurance race held at Circuit Park Berghem. This video shows the complete race footage. The race was held on the Estoril layout, while using kart #11 (type: eco).
    Race Report:
On this sunny Wednesday evening, 22 teams had gathered to compete. Qualifying went somewhat adversely: Justin Rotte recorded the sixth time (01:05:121) and had to switch karts at the end of the session due to some issues. The team ended up with kart #11, which handled dreadfully, but had an edge over other karts with tremendous acceleration and huge straight line speed. As a consequence the race pace attainable with this material was roughly 1 second per lap faster than most of the competition, leading to a very one-sided race. Already in the first lap, Justin Rotte put the team in first position, and apart from some changes of position during pitstops, other teams where not able to contest for first place. Avoiding mistakes thus became the key to victory, i.e. driving at 90% and no risky overtaking. Speeding in the pitlane nearly cost the team a drivethrough, however only a warning was issued. In the end, both ARP-drivers managed to build up a comfortable lead, finishing two laps ahead of the second and third place teams (GCC, kart #24 and Karrewiel, kart #35, respectively). Moreover, Berend Stofferis had driven the fastest lap time of the complete race in lap 38.
