*Nelsan Ellis wasn’t just Lafayette Reynolds, he WAS True Blood!*
He was that voice that everyone needed to hear. He was the fun, the masquerade, the tea party & the block party. He was the main event. People think the show was about Sookie & her lovers… NOPE! Maybe that’s how it was in the books (I wouldn’t know, I still haven’t read them yet) but the show? The show was about how everybody needed Lafayette in their lives & I applaud HBO for giving us someone so unique, inspirational & fabulous to fall in love with.
And I’m glad that even though the show has been off the air for years, people are still putting respect on Lafayette’s name. That shows that he truly was a magnificent character portrayed by a brilliant Actor.
Rest in Power, Nelsan Ellis 💜

He was an amazing actor. His portrayal of Lafayette was one of the reasons my Mom and I watched the show.
He and Eric were the only reasons I kept watching this show, which could be awful at times… but Nelsan’s portrayal of Lafayette was masterful. RIP to this very talented man.

I have watched True blood maybe five times since I purchased the box set will be watching them again soon, also read the books three times all thirteen of them including the extra ones which brings the total of 19 books (reading them all over again)

Nelson as an actor was undeniably great. Nelson as Lafayette was EVERYTHING. So many memorable characters from the show and Lafayette still stands out with his wit, sass and ferocity. Definitely one of my favorite tv characters of all time. An unforgettable portrayal. Rest in Power, Nelson.
I can’t believe he died , I feel even worse that I some how didn’t hear about it. He was my favorite character in true blood and one of the best actors. I always expected him to be in so many other HBO shows. So sad and honestly a shame he lost his battle at just 39. RIP brother

I loved Andy Bellflour too! In the books he never really liked Sookie, and Lafayette died in the beginning of second book. Arlene was a psycho in the book too lol. I love the changes in the show.
I watched every episode and LOVED Lafayette. He really made the show.
