    The drain under the oil filter was really cool. I hate those types of grease gun and we are really pleased we upgraded to a lube-shuttle one. Your daughter's accident did not look good, it does sound like the bus company has some questions to answer although you would have thought they would have given you a full explanation

      They’re having a hard time finding staff everywhere around here. Makes it hard to be picky regarding who you hire.

    Get the Milwaukee oiler! And wow on the head accident. Definitely follow up with the school and bus company.

    Well I'm pretty up to date on my swear words, but always nice to hear others... The little one handled the injury well, most kids are not as rugged these days :/ and the new BX doesn't have the drip tray :( .... Have a good week James.

    Sorry to hear about your daughter. That is nice design to have the funnel and tube to drain the oil from the filter down to a manageable place. The engine oil filter is indeed tough to get out of that crowded place. I've seen you opening both ends of the grease gun. I don't know if you had an issue or what, but usually, only the top part is to be removed, leaving the bottom still assembled. I take a pair of pliers to pull the empty plastic tube of grease out. If you are not already familiar with grease gun, this video might be interesting to watch! Thanks!

    How's she goin'? It's always nice to do the maintenance on our equipment and then when you see the manufacturer adding little things like the oil filter drain tube, well that is pretty nice. Your daughter was pretty lucky eh. With that amount of blood it looked like she really could have been hurt a lot worse. I hope she is doing OK. Take care!!

    I have the same issues with finding the proper socket size. I started recently using a paint pen to write the size on or beside the nut so its easy the next time. As for Findlay, Contact the school in writing, and copy the superintendent. The School board is responsible for it's carrier. With the amount of blood seen in the video, the bus driver should have contacted 911 for an ambulance and not leave the scene. You never know the extent of the injury.

    • @KillingItCountry

      Great hack to more easily see the socket size! Julie’s all over the bus company to get some answers!

    Wow James, so sorry to hear about your daughter. That was not cool. We are starting to get some real ding-a-lungs for bus drivers here.
    Not so much in my immediate area. The older bus drivers would manage their speed when coming to a stop to let oncoming traffic move through before they opened the doors to unload their precious cargo.
    I have noticed as of the last few years that the buses throw their red light a on right before they stop not giving opposing traffic enough time to start slowing. It becomes an everybody slamming on the brakes and trying to to load your vehicle on top of the one in front of you. Particularly concerning when you’re driving a loaded truck and you need to stop instantly.
    I am quite certain that you will handle this and take care of business. Just sorry that it is even necessary.

    • @KillingItCountry
      @KillingItCountry  Год назад +1

      The rules in Canada (Ontario anyway) have changed a bit … there is actually now a set of yellow flashing lights that the driver is suppose to activate well in advance of the stop and than once stopped they’re to change to flashing red and put out the stop sign. There will never be enough safety on school buses - there’s always a bone head in a hurry!
