You can almost feel and imagine the horrors of the war with the words and the way she sings this it's very beautiful and sad. This is something a war documentary wouldn't be able to capture. The war was truly horrendous in the most atrocious way you could ever imagine.
Dark times are coming, but the flame of freedom and solidarity will always remain in the hearts of a minority of human beings. Sooner or later goodness will always defeat fascism! Now more than ever "NO PASARÁN"!
I loved this haunting tune from the very first time I heard it on Leonard Cohen’s Songs From a Room album, 55 years ago. I had the good fortune to see/hear him perform it live, more than once, in the San Francisco Bay area back in the early 70’s. Leonard Cohen’s son, Adam, does a remarkable version. My favorite performance is Kris Dane & BaliMurphy’s RUclips video. Favorite, that is, until I stumbled upon you, young person. Your The Partisan is now my very favorite. Like your voice, the arrangement and the echoes. Made this old man weep. Bravo
Such a bewitching voice. Her accent when she sings in french is so heavy, but it's still so beautiful. This song is about dark times, that can be back anytime anywhere on the globe. To succeed in putting them in place, they began by hiding behind a mask of relative probity. Before the surge of hatred and violence. We should not forget it.

It was close, here. Way too close. And yet, only the worst has been avoided. How long before those with the courage to do so will have to return to the shadows? Cette chanson me fait pleurer. Elle, plus que la version de Cohen. Et les voix et la musique sont si belles.
It's a Leonard Cohen song. That said, as much as I love Cohen (at least, one album), I didn't know this one. And her cover is magnificent, sublime, incredible... so bright and shiny for such dark times...
Yes, something that AURORA did that Cohen did not do in his version (song is based on the original French composition written and sung by members of the French Resistance in WWII).
OMG it's impossible not to love this amazingly talented beautiful young woman, Aurora is the Best ever.......this was from some time ago and it only prooves what a specially and unique gifted artist ehs is. Love Aurora forever!
Nice to hear this crystal clear version of the song as interpreted by Aurora! Quite a history to this song! Would love to see an album by Aurora interpreting songs sung by Leonard Cohen!
It's really so beautiful! I can't honestly describe in words what it feels like to hear these songs and everything after seeing her in person, they say you shouldn't meet your heroes, but, Aurora is truly something else.
@mik Vituper Absolutely, I think it will be harder and harder to get a real moment with her. She has done so phenomenal, nothing like a symphonic performance, I hope someday to see her in one, but your so right just listening to her is so different after meeting her.
Wow. I loved it a lot. Aurora is a magic :). I generally love whole song but these whisper parts were so cool. Ps. I wonder when it was recorded especially with the french parts... And how it goes out. Ps2. After google, I know i know why it reminded my Leonard Cohen style :)) It is wonderful and crystal clear cover of his song. An from comment here I know originally it was Anna Marly/

How do I keep hearing more songs I've never heard by her? Thank you for sharing, her music is medicine! ❤

Aurora is so beautiful
This version is better than Cohen's by far. She has an unearthly voice
Hearing her singing that in French just tears my heart apart

Geralt, I also wonder when the recording was made. Aurora's singing voice here sounds to me like 2015 or 2016.
@@gliebzeit Yea. For sure her singing voice telling us it was made some time ago. It could be in the period you mentioned around 2016.
This music Is painful because this video all about World War all woman on world War is died without a whisper very sad 😭
By Leonard Cohen, her great inspiration.
I stand corrected.:) Googled it, and it's originally by Anna Marly: "La Complainte du partisan". I only knew the Cohen version.:)
When they poured across the border
I was cautioned to surrender
This I could not do
I took my gun and vanished
An old woman gave us shelter
Kept us hidden in the garret
Then the soldiers came
She died without a whisper
There were three of us this morning
I'm the only one this evening
But I must go on
The frontiers are my prison
Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing
Through the graves the wind is blowing
Freedom soon will come
Then we'll come from the shadows
Les Allemands étaient chez moi
Ils me dirent "Résigne-toi"
Mais je n'ai pas pu
J'ai repris mon arme
J'ai changé cent fois de nom
J'ai perdu femme et enfants
Mais j'ai tant d'amis
J'ai la France entière
Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing
Through the graves the wind is blowing
Freedom soon will come
Then we'll come from the shadows
Merci
Hollllyty shit it's sounds beautiful on my amazing speaker setup omfg
HOW DID YOU GET THIS. OMG i want this song so much
It was public on the museum's website, but you needed a Canadian IP to access it :)

Si, que dice la canción como tal? Sé que AURORA siempre habla por metáforas o indirectamente pero tengo esa duda
