Hey brother, I've commented many times, this is different. You know I was in the business. 3 flight for life, bad news 😢. I always think, dry roads, clear weather, so why do these wrecks happen. Very rarely, mechanical failure. Almost always, driver caused. Driver distraction. When will people learn they can't multi task like they think they can. Phones. Just my opinion. I had so many calls where the customer rode to the tow destination with me, in the truck. They commented often, what they saw other drivers doing in their vehicles, since sitting higher up in a tow truck. I said, I've seen just about everything and anything. Keep your eyes on the road, mirrors, and look 360. It happens quick. Peace ✌️ brother 🙏
It’s the truth unfortunately. Many of the wrecks we work could have been easily avoided. Many lives taken or forever altered, due to someone just not paying attention, or being reckless.
When I was a kid growing up in Wisconsin there was some people, probably volunteers, that would come out to accident sites and do all the cleanup. Most of the time they were there before the cops or anyone else.
Dustin most of the time when you see markings on the road means there was a Fatality in the accident . When the semi crossed the center media here this summer and killed the motorcycle driver and smashed into 3 other vehicles there was marking all over the road way . 😢.

TXDOT is notorious for not putting up better traffic control devices such as lights as their policy until a certain number of deaths have occurred there it's not worth the expense. That came from a TXDOT employee a couple years ago.
I have to add another comment, after finishing the video. The words you have on the headache rack of your truck, everyone should believe in those words. I do, absolutely. I might piss some people off, but, look at some bills you have. It clearly states, in God we trust.

I have a question. In an accident like this, is it okay if all the metal parts on the casualty's frame drag against the road and your bed? And is it okay to drag a accident vehicle if you cant get it out of park?
I'm in the uk and the police here would help with clean up but obviously everywhere is different but I honestly was thinking the same until I saw dustins reply to you

Dustin I won't be getting my tow truck anytime soon the lady I was dating took $500 that I sent her to invest and pocketed the money and then had the nerve to ask for $45 to come here . So I am out my truck I sold & the investment money . The worst thing is is the only proof I have is those receipts & Google cards but still I wanted the money she offered me . 😢

There’s not much else he can do. As a commercial vehicle, that’s depended on by Dustin, the police, and people he’s towing, there will always be stresses, strains and eventually repairs. It just is what it is.

Sometimes it’s unavoidable. At that point it’s probably already totaled.

As a mechanic. Every time you lift the truck with the bed hydraulics and shake the bed to unload. Your putting stress on hydraulic cylinders.
