On the second example I'm having issues in "curvilofting" the surfaces. That ones whose curvatures are meant to be pronunciated don't match with the edges selected. I follow it step by step, selecting the edges first then the arc bellow. While that works for the first, it doesn't work for the remainder, because it leaves a space open between the surface made by curviloft and the edge selected to make it.
Are your upright profiles groups? Did you use Loft Along option with Curviloft? First I made with the "face", but the second one I have to make with Loft Along ( that green square to yellow circle).
@@CinemaTablet I eventually stumbled onto the right path. I think it had something to do with not selecting the proper rails group. Since I have you here, a slightly different but related Q: how you go about getting the same pronunciated curvature when you have 4 lines? I was trying to model a different seashell, by not having all faces start from the same single point, instead adding an extra line at the base. But that doesn't seem to work with Curviloft.
@@21Liberdade You have to use that "tent" skinning. Intersect or explode curve on "base lines" so that they don't extend out. I also exploded the groups. Just tried one with 4 lines ok.
@@CinemaTablet Indeed, this I managed to do as well, but I couldn't get it in the same pronunciated curve as the example nr 3 of your video. I'm talking about the surface being pronunciated outwards as opposed to just being flat, as it appears to be in your picture.
sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=Curviloft You have to register to sketchucation.com ,but it's free, You need first install LibFredo6 6.9 or higher "plug-in". Same site... or extensions.sketchup.com/nl/content/libfredo6
