Ikr? The idea of it reminds me of another thing but I can't place it... anyway this game with an HD remake would be absolutely terrifying, like resident evil 2 remake levels

Killjoy, even though crazy, is really one of the characters who will help you in this island.
Him and Horace, though Horace is more like Torque who wishes he can escape but can't, so he helps Torque accomplish that

I got this game when I was pretty young. My parents didn’t really filter what I played. So they didn’t really bother to see what was the game rating was. When I played the game for the first time I was fucking scared. I stopped playing after I got killed by the slayer. Still have the game
Nope they didn’t really care about what I played.
So how has it affected you mentally?
thomato981 I only played it once and after I had nightmares for a few week or months. Then I slowly started to forget about it. Then I come across this video and decided to look for the game to see if I still have it. I still do but for only PlayStation 2. Now that I’m older I find the creatures terrifying and good design.

As depressing as it is to say,
Out of all the things they could do with arms and legs made out of blades, I’d be relieved that it would be a quick stab through the brain rather than torturous skinning/mutilation. Monsters bent on killing don’t typically extend that mercy in horror games unless you’re a background character, but the point still stands😂
Old School Prince true, thank god they don’t torture people that would be a fate worse than death

Maybe the Torque boss was a manifestation of his anger? He had to face it and kill it to avenge his family.

Mmm. It's cool.
Bro in 9:44 the monster just killed the other monster how cruel is that killing his own mutated friend?
They ain't friends, all are manifestations of hatred.
They lash out to anything that moves... Like Silent Hill
Reaper419Darkangel
Carnate seems to draw on the pure hatred present in an inmate seconds before death. In their minds they want to give the same punishment they were dealt with in their lives to everyone , personally. Infernas were probably thinking that might have been actually witches or perhaps that they don't deserve this pain, leading to their forms being witch like. The bosses "The Electric Chair" and "The Gas man" are examples of other emotions that Carnate draws on. One is out of self hate and despair, as the electric chair is used on The inmate in his form rather than directly against Torque, while the Gas guy was pure pleasure, as he now that he tasted how good the gas felt he wanted to do more. Those Fat rat infested monsters are a rare case of the souls being punished by others. The slaves they trafficked hated these men so much, Carnate manifested them in tortured, bound and gagged. The difference this creature has to the other, is that it doesn't wish this on itself, but rather the slaves did. Torque is also an example. His emotion is utter hate and rage towards everything and himself. The monster represented the what he though he was, and the anger he feels toward everyone. The "Angel" represent all the hate and rage he feels towards himself, as it is detached from torque and actively tries to kill him. You dont need to be dead to become one of these creatures, if you have a strong enough negative emotion or a positive one centered around sinful acts, Carnate will grant you a new form
What goes around comes around didn’t you see

I remember playing this game as a kid and I friggin loved it. Played both games and thought they were awesome as hell. Would love to see these either remade or remastered
I swear games back had something special about them
They where much smaller and could tell a more precise and engaging story to suck you in. Today everything is massive and open world with side stories. Some games today still immerse you in and tell good stories, Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Yakuza are some of my personal preferences, Im sure you have your own. However, most games today feel like empty masses of cyber space with little soul in them, just endless things to do.
Y'all forgot to mention that this game has one of the most amazing soundtracks ever. 🤪

I like how this game plays on the disempowerment of Silent Hill 2. When your meter was full, you could turn into hellraiser hulk, but it would inch you toward the bad ending where you did kill your family. While full, there would also be flashes of jumpscares that would further incentivize transforming into a monster. If you chose the easy way out, it would feel like an action game, but at the end, the horror would be in having helped free your supernatural, family-murdering protagonist.
I was in college wayback 2007 or somethihg when ive played this game. It wasnt as popular as counter strike or dota back in the day, but it hooked me up. I love the MC transformation
this game was great lol...way scarier than any video game now
I'm watching this in 2019 and this has a little bit of a distaste due to the graphics but it still a good game Hope they remake it...if the didn't already.
When Dev teams and publisher's cared about storyline, details, narration, intrigue and quality.
i wish more games would explain monsters and villains this way
I'm sure this game was considered way ahead of its time when it first came out.
I remember when I first played this game I was in the 3rd grade and i had my mom play it because I was too scared. She played it for 15 minutes then she handed me the controls left to work, and like that I wasn't scared of the game for whatever reason.
THis is soooooooo good! What a gem I just discovered!
The burrows were scary because if you were low on health it would wrap you like an octopus and bury you alive with its chains. It was very disturbing the marksman would blow your limbs off and the one that gave the most scare is realizing the character your playing is having blackouts and is watching his reflection run around and scream.
This game needs a remaster with present day graphics will definitely buy it
This "Dead to rights" and "Max Payne" needs to be remastered
This was badass. I wish they'd remake both parts
I was confused for a second on what game this was but then I remembered. In a way it reminds me of manhunt, like the hud and the movement of your character moving and in combat. The graphics seem like they’re from resident evil two. The noises sound like something straight out of dead island. Voice acting also kinda sounds like fallout three and new Vegas. I don’t know why but this game makes me feel so mixed about it. It seems like almost every game combined into one disgusting pile of horror and being not a very well known game from what I’m seeing from the comments. The noises from the guns and the way the man talks about the details of the seemingly supernatural and or real monsters sounds something out of postal two. The monsters remind me something of dead space, there body being deformed and destroyed by the passage of time. Some even remind me of joy mutants from the LISA games. Flesh stretched, odd looks, petrifying noises, and their odd actions all play in to a familiar memory. Some look like big daddy’s from bioshock. Inferna reminds me of the being made of fire from metal gear solid five. The little girls remind me of Samara from the ring but with seemingly a bit less malicious intent, or perhaps even more. Doctor Killjoy seems like a man who was somewhat sane before. But the. Descending into madness then becoming a ghostly hologram. He seems like a very prideful man perhaps even being a bit of a narcissist, wanting extreme power, he doesn’t seem like one that should have that sort of power. Horace seems like a man who was a perhaps very insecure man but a very hunky and muscular man, the act of murdering his wife shows me was was insecure in some way, or maybe too prideful. He looks to be in extreme pain at all times but when talking to the main character he seems calm when talking about his wife at a point but then wishing to die.
Gaming For God did you even watch it all the way through? His family was murdered and they pinned the deaths on him
Still one of my favorite games, I talk about it when ever someone asks for an old game I loved as a kid.

The Monsters Designs Reminds me of the movie 'Frankenstein's Army', very cool.

I remember being like 7-8 and having this game and brining to my cousins house and getting in so much trouble bc his parents saw us playing it and over heard all the cussing in it lmao
My parents did not know what they were buying me with this one. To be fair, I didn't know what I was getting into either.
the marksman is such an awesome creature designg, I love how the battery on its back is made out of limbs but moves so mechanically. games back in the day had a knack for cool cyborg-like monsters

They should remake this game how resident evil 2 was.
So I know that the Fester are representations of how they treated the slaves, but, because of the rats, their form of execution was the metal cage with rats that was heated up?
