WE TOOK OUT THE JACUZZI TUB TO MAKE LARGE SHOWER --- THE RESULTS ARE STUNNING!!!

- In many of todays designs we see large showers, often with two or more functions, instead of a Jacuzzi tub deck. By utilizing the space more effectively one can take advantage of easy access, walk in, curbless showers that are not only beautiful but functional as well. Although the jacuzzi tub deck design was popular in the 1990's and early 2000's, many have realized that they hardly ever use their bathtubs. Reasons for this are some people just don't like baths and the time it takes, others have a hot tub and would rather use that. Some people have mobility problems that make it difficult to get in and out of a tub. In any case, making a big beautiful shower is better than the wasted 24 square feet or so that a typical tub deck takes up.
We built this shower using 12x24 porcelain tile that looks like marble, along with a quartz bench and a glass mosaic inlay design. We also added a recessed shampoo niche with the glass mosaic in the back, and a linear drain with a tileable grate. The shower has a Brizo thermostatic valve and diverter that you can choose between the shower head and the hand shower on the slide bar.

I'm here just for Isaac's wife's fashion tips!.😉👍
🤣💦
This little ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
Wow, the windows lighting up that marble finish tile looks absolutely amazing. Like an old Roman bathhouse.
I love the new upgrade.
I want this done to my bathroom, except I want a shower and jacuzzi tub combo
Sorry to burst your bubble Isaac but I need a tub. A big tub. I'm a hard-working man and son of a gun and I've been working all day in the noon day sun. And when I get done I need a God damn tub. Anyway I love your work and you will help me learn how to make a beautiful bathroom. I've made a few but not as many as you. Respect
I hear ya John. We have a hot tub so we don't need one in our master. Thanks for commenting and really glad to hear I helped you on your bathroom.
@@TileCoach Thumbs up on that - just added a *very* nice screened deck with sunken hot tub. Fantastic upgrade to the house.
Lucky you that you can still get in and out of it! When you are physically unable to do that, you start thinking about alternatives! I had surgery earlier this year, and simply couldn't manage by myself. I couldn't step over the edge of the tub to take a shower. I was giving serious thought to driving thru the car wash in a convertible before the nurse arrived!! 😆
What are you 5 yrs old. 😂
Beautiful Work Tile Coach! Looking forward to the next video!!!!
I love this remodel! Looks so beautiful and clean!
Looks great after the remodel. I'm kinda sad that so many tubs are being removed on remodels lately. And by lately I mean like the past 20-30 years. Most every remodel I've been involved with (from the office level, not the field) has had tubs removed in favor of showers. Except one for an elderly person. They got a tub with entrance doors, that could hold the water back and not leak. Those doors had a wide enough opening that they could use a walker or whatever to enter it. Being quite old myself, and having lived in England during a few years in the 80s, tubs are kinda retro now apparently. Instead of the tiny shower and giant jacuzzi, they could have fit a larger shower and smaller tub in that space. Just my random thursday thoughts, take no nevermind from it.
Alan,
I actually have a master bath like this - large soaking tub - not a jacuzzi, and a small shower. Built in 1988, it's got to be re-done. But, I could see a larger shower with a free standing tub.... good comment.
Agree! I never shower and l..
o...v...e my bathub.
Yea someone did the same at my home. I love both and so I can’t understand why they took out the tub 🛀
@@wkjeom Well, Jesus Christ, can't you STAND UP in your tub and take a shower? That's like selling your spare tire because you don't use it.
BESIDES, the Jacuzzi name is total SHIT now, after being bought up and whored out to any local Mr. Fixit that wants to install crappy showers. The entire business is going apeshit; companies are springing up offering the same shit shower installs for INSANE amounts of money($1500-$15,000 dollars) and people having absolutely NO clue that they're being royally screwed.
Big improvement!
I just did a similar thing in my master bath, but I put in a freestanding tub rotated 90* to make room for a 5'x4' shower
Great idea with the screed/guage for the inlay.
It works really well especially for small mosaics that you cannot build out your thinset with
I've been using my tub for baths every day since the pandemic after a long run. I wish mine was that big. But the final shower is amazing at the same time. Need both haha.
Some ppl add a stand alone tub inside their large showers
Kool!!!👍🏼👍🏼✌🏽
Isaac, next time installing the glass decos: pre-set them on 1/4” Wedi Board or any other type of thin board you use. Cut them into strips, then set the panel in place-your deco will then be flat & in-plane, ready to grout.
That’s looking good
The shirt !!! Nice
Lovely job, much more practical
Impressive 👍👍
great job
Really clean look
Love your work
That shower looks gorgeous! I think I found my dream shower!
Beautiful job brother
Thanks Renan
Amazing work! I've actually been thinking about replacing my bathroom jacuzzi with a similar walk-in shower like that. And I'm in my 30s! ;)
Same here
Universal design, Bathroom for everyone, Bathroom of the future.
Looks good coach.Sometimes a tub comes in handy.Alot of people don't know about the in line heater,to keep the water warm.Different strokes.
Yes, if there is room for both a big shower and a tub that is best. But usually there is another bathroom in the house to have a bath. Thank you for commenting.
Looks good. I just finished one Similar to that one. Getting rid of a Jacuzzi tub, but I left enough room at the end for a storage closet with an 18 inch door.
Nice job 👍
Great work done and results are amazing. So clean and fresh. I hate our useless jacuzzi, would replace to walk-in shower, but have no experience with such job.
Only people that use those big tubs are folks with young kids, as a kid hot tub. Beautiful install.
Roughly how much does a conversion like this run?
Awesome
Top noche work bro...
Pro to the extreme!!!
God Bless ya Zac🤙🏽🤙🏽
God bless you too!
That's beautiful, great job!
Definitely like this size shower. Great for an elderly person but, you need to instal handrails. Super important for safety. Lots of elderly people fall and seriously injure themselves in showers because they have little to hold onto.
Coach can give me idea of your charge for building walk in shower?
Looks so easy to get in and out of, you know.
The shower came out awesome!
Amazing job!
Beautiful! This is exactly what I want to do in my master bathroom, except I have a half wall between the shower and tub.
All great except you lose the tub which is awesome to have. Many people still want a decent bath or hot tub. A shower is just a shower and only need so much space. Not sure I see the point? I have two bathrooms both have sizable bathtubs and decent size showers but I would never remove the tub unless it was old. You could have kept a smaller seat down tub and a bigger shower as now the shower is two big and a waste of space unless it doubles up as a steam room.
In senior communities such as this alot of the residence have trouble sitting down and getting up from a tub so i understand both points of view. In many cases its females that want to keep the tub option
Perfect remodel Luke!
That’s exactly what we did. Put a large shower where the tub was. Except where the shower originally was we made a slightly smaller closet that had a tankless water heater in the back and shelves in the front.
Awesome. Customs megalite woohoo
The thing is beautiful!!! What the price tag on that has to be about $20k
Love the miter edge! Can we get a video on mitering?
Looks like some duomo or contessa...above all, damn fine install
love it ,just similar to moms
What was the cost for this remodel?
That’s badass! #TileLife
Awesome shower my husband an just bought our first home with a jacuzzi tub been her for almost 2 years and never used it. You gave me a good idea about how much does something like that would cost
Absolutely beautiful job and great ideas.
Nice tile but a downgrade. Tub is so nice to have.
Nice looking shower. Really like it, and those colors.
So much so, think may do a similar style for my bathroom remodel, but do a complete open curbless shower and also have a diff color.
Really do like the style and look of these showers; they just look so clean, and makes a room look big, imo, even in a small bathroom (long as set tile “correct” way, imo, otherwise an make a small bathroom look smaller….especially with some dark colors).
Your new guy did a fantastic job for what can see in vid; awesome! But, not surprising as hired by you and works for your company 😉
Cheers✌🏻
Thanks Aepek!
This is incredible! Just a gorgeous shower!!!! Stunning work guys! Tiles and fixtures look familiar:)
Looks great shower the size of my bathroom lol
Beautiful work. Yup. Always thought it would be great to have a big jacuzzi tub until I bought a house with one 20 yrs ago. Probably used it a dozen times. Ripped it out and replaced it with a 5x6 shower as a pandemic project. Learned a lot from your videos. Thx!
I think the last time we used ours was to wash the dogs during winter. lol
I'll never be able to afford a shower likes this, but if I can? This is it! That's insane! I'll have a seperate tub room, gotta have my baths lol
looks awesome!! got my 1st flofx drain package today. can't wait to try it out. looks like a game changer👌
Beautiful.
What was the cost of this specific project?
Did you put a liner under the floor tile, I didn’t see?
Omgggg I need this done soooo bad
Boy, that's is nice. I think i could squeeze my car in there.
Do you have any videos of a big shower with free standing tub inside the same enclosure ??
Nice shirt. Same color as my holster.
No tub but a shower. I want a tub...LOL
How much would something like this cost ? Looks just like my set up now and I want to remove that bath tub as well and create a big shower.
Hello,, i m just here to see ..... i want more experience
Hey TC, have you ever chimed in onto the subject of “backer board onto the tub lip or past it”? Been following you here for a while and don’t think I’ve seen anything in that regard. Unless I missed it somehow. Would love to see/hear you and your word of wisdom. As we all know there are so many geniuses (not to mention names 😜) out there claiming one or another thing. Thanks! 👽
Your video is most helpful, thank you for talking us through every detail. Before we begin tub to shower conversion, can you comment on using part of this wasted space for a small closet?
beautiful
Great shower! How tall and wide is the glass shower panel, and who may I contact to supply it? I checked out a glass shop in Carmichael, California and the widest width they will provide for a single glass panel is 32".
I love a tub, I would be so happy with a bathroom that looks like it did before you remodeled😪
What estimated costs for something like this
am I having flashbacks or some clips we have seen in other guides videos? either way, looks gorgeous 😍
My tub is so large that by the time have enough water to cover yourself it’s cold
Dude beautiful job and looks great but I love my Jacuzzi 😂
How much does something like this cost, roughly?
That’s really nice! I’m a disabled Veteran and wanting to do something similar. Wonder what this one costs to get an idea of my future project.
i would have a whirlpool tub shower cabin combo
I look at this bathroom about to be redone, and I realize mine is nasty. :)
Like your style.
👌
Callacatta quartz but what is the porcelain name and brand? Looks like a polished porcelain statuario?
Dal tile IL10 polished on walls, matte on floor.
Avg cost to remove the original shower / tub?
How would someone go about applying for a job with your company?
How much would it cost to have you do this?
Just out of curiosity... What fan (or fans) did you choose to vent this large area that could vent the potentially high amount of steam?
where did you get those quartz calacatta tiles from
What kind of grout do you guys use? sanded or unsanded?
I am a senior and want to do this. There is no way I would be able to DIY so can you suggest a company in Tampa fl that could do this? Also what would you say the approximate cost of a remodel like this costs?
We bought a home with a jacuzzi tub 1 1/2 years and never used it. You have given us an idea on change but about how much did it cost for that job if you don't mind sharing
:0 I want to do this to my house. How much did that walk in shower cost?
How much would this cost?
This is exactly what I want to do for my master! I never use it, in part because when they built this place, the skimped on the size of the water heater. I can't get a "full" tub of hot water to jacuzzi in! 🙄🤦
I've had 2 surgeries in the last year, and I realized that tub has got to go! I plan on leaving this house feet first, so it's time to think ahead.
Curious how you get away with 50% offset . The tile supplier I use here in the Midwest all the boxes show a 1/3 offset and has a big x through the 50%. I have to always address this with the customers as to not mislead them on the pattern. Does the tile you use not require that? Honestly not trying to tear into the job because it looks great! It’s a general question that no one seams to be able to answer
Tiles guys cants even get a 33 Oset right bc installer repeats 33 ever other row. Following is better: 1row no off set 2 row. 33 set 3rd row 66 off set , then repeat.
@@jennyeyesxfirepioneer6934 that’s how we always do it a full then 66 then 33 which conveniently is just cutting one tile at 7 3/4” on a 12x24 and you can use both pieces as starters and get the recommended offset. Really little waste when doing this .
Also, thats a party shower, wish i have one at my house :)
Overall good job, but the new guy didn't properly back butter a noticeable amount of those glass accent tiles. You can see the voids behind them where there's no adhesion.
Rather have a jacuzzi tub with jets instead of my big shower 🚿 🙄 love to soak and relax 😌
Nice work, but my wife likes to soak in the jacuzzi tub every now and then
