This little ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.
Hey Dude! Really enjoyed the video! Even though your attempted solution was creative, I would try to revisit your bath plumbing to avoid any kink in the plumbing line. The metal jacketed hose in the faucet has a rubber inner-hose. If it is kinked, stretched too much or twisted, it can weaken the inner rubber hose. Each time water goes through that tight area, it creates a lot of pressure and the pipe flexes. This is like bending a garden hose back and forth constantly in one area. Over time it will weaken the integrity of the hose and at some point could fail. A possible simple fix is to build a little pedestal for the faucet to sit on. This will give you more space to avoid kinks and no need to bust up more concrete to fix. Hope this helps, all the best! :)
Wabi! The master of quality over quantity, love your vids
That’s a great point. I think I’ll try the pedestal idea. Smart. Thanks
Don't mess with Elliot when it comes to plumbing!
We need a videooooooooo :)
No worries, they will literally never use this tub anyway.
My man, you’re one of a few that actually explains, what materials to use with the type of tile. So thorough and actually owns up to your mistakes as you go.
Thnx!
Awesome project!! Love the way you just get stuck into the job and make it look so easy. Removing all that concrete around the piping can be daunting if you don't know what you are doing.
Nice work mate, I'm a plumber from Australia and carpenters always build a podium for the faucet to sit on. Allows the plumbing to be far easier and access more accessible as you can put the pex pipe up and down
Thanks for the tips!
Great job, Alex. Dang man.. you make it look easy. I’m sure if I tackled this project it would be a thousand times more complicated 🤣
Watching you laying the tile reminds me of my dad. He was a tile setter from Cuba, he did half of Miami lol. He was a tile setter for 45 years.
It's beautiful! Btw, @ 16:50 I totally understand that frustration. I planned ahead and was able to see that the waterline that came with the faucet comes down 4-5 inches and CANNOT be retracted upward. When I saw that I banded my head on this for awhile before realizing that I just needed to allow my waterlines to go up and down. Just needed to tie strings/wires to prevent it from dropping and not pull it back up.
Loved the project! Your work is absolutely phenomenal!! 👍👍
Very enjoyable to watch your enthusiastic friendly confident installs!
Great video! Love all the detail, the problem solving, the work arounds. Like you, I'm not a fan of the kinked lines under the faucet flange but hey ... it works! Awesome job!
Thank you for doing this. I am doing this exact thing for my wife this summer. Great tips and tricks!!
Nicely done, lotta work, you're the man! Looks fantastic! Must be nice to know how to do all this stuff 😊
Looking good. Gearing up to do something similar here in Germany. This will be a huge help. Keep up the good work.
Good luck!
Fantastic job liked how you showed problems you came across and solved them.
Such a beautiful bathtub - well done!
Looks good man. Mitre all those top caps/bottom aprons together. Will be a PITA but look way better and shows you took the time to think about the trim around the windows.
What I like about nate is he tries to help people out, I was on ec2 as well and BTW I did subscribe
curious if you tested the plumbing lines before re-setting the concrete? would be awesome to see that part as well.
you are amazing! Your wife must be super psyched!
Love the videos! Learning a lot and very entertaining! Never change for nobody!
Thanks brother
I love your videos, and have learned a lot more. Usually, I like you overall idea, but I think you went in two different directions. Tub and faucet fit in with the existing bathroom, and new tile and say clean, modern. New window trim says old school, Victorian, classy, but clashes with everything else in my opinion. Maybe going with a look in between the old window trim and new would have been better. Just my opinion that I thought I'd share. At the end of the day, you and your family own it, and live in it. So it's your choice of what it looks like.
Great video looking forward to the rest of this room and that steam room/shower you wanted to do. Also surprised you didn’t knock through the the wall to the W/C.
Also the cabinet for the sinks needs a bit of love for I feel dual floating sink counter ?
That’s next. Couldn’t tap into that wall because the vent tube is right in the middle.
Love your content, thanks for all the great ideas
Beautiful job on the flow tub
Nice work. For people outside the USA like me is so surreal the fact that the walls in many American homes, including multimillion ones are built from a material that can be cut with a knife. Also, most homes are built from wood, not reinforced concrete, even in many hurricane prone zones.
For grout have you tried Power Grout by TEC? The grout drys in about 4 hours and is ready to be mopped and walked on. We use it in Hotels and Casino, so that down time is low for high traffic areas. Highly recommend it. 👌
Not yet!
hey man, you should add silicone in-between the tile floor and the boards surrounding it, so that when water spills on the floor, or if you wash the floor, it won't seep underneath the boards
I'm loving watching this with my husband so many awesome ideas. On question? Where's the waterproof???
Turned out awesome!
About to do something not unlike this, except I'm going to be framing out a teak deck to set the tub on (I'm not a fan of doing tiling lol)
Looks great. I like how fearless you are.
I appreciate that!
The free standing bath was a great choice , once you finished it did you agree through gritted teeth that the Mrs was right 👀🤣 can't wait for the next vid
Yes! Thank you!
Explained so well
Great Reno but bro you gotta follow the mixing directions on the thinset bag 👍
Cost breakdown makes your work just superior. It always looks great.....but I like your footing in reality on the cost. Hats off to you for truly 'keeping it real'. That base of that faucet is brutal! Would be great on a second floor.....with access from below. I wonder if sleeving water lines to j box in the wall would be the way to do it next time. Make the coupling, pull extension lines into a wall j box as you set the faucet, then connect in the j box in the wall. Very cool that you conveyed the challenge of it.
Great build. Incredible transformation.
Glad you like it!
I just watched this whole video and I still have no idea what you just did lmao 😂 great job on the project 👌
Me neither
Searching for 2 DAYS for a guide video as I am DOING THIS SAME THING already ripped out jacuzzi tub~ I'm going from right handed to center drain on concrete slab... if I was not so picky I should have gotten a square freestanding tub and use da flat P trap with flexible pipe.. but no had to try and be ooohhh sooo fancy, atleast now I have some sort of guidance!! WISH ME LUCK or see if I trade in the fancy tub for a freestanding square tub.
Looks like Cornado paint. It's a very good paint made by Benjamin Moore. I'm a painter and use both brands.
The kink in the flexible tap connectors will slowly corrode and burst try your best to remove them kinks. Might last a few years but I've known them last a year or so. Looks amazing though!
Yeah I think I’ll build a little lifted platform
@@MrBuildit I just dealt with this exact issue with my bathroom that’s slab on grade. For rough in, we ran pex inside insulation from the manifold to the tub faucet but didn’t connect the pex to the manifold in the wall until we got it flush at the tub faucet. Then we cut the pex and connected it to the manifold and it was the right length without causing those kinks that the faucet trim covered
Love how you blame your wife in the title but don’t mention her at all during the video! Beautiful work in the end…will have to plan for something similar in my new house!
With these projects what is your process for dealing with permits? Why do you not include that in the cost breakdowns of your videos? Or is it that in your city they don't require permits for internal modifications to plumbing and electrical?
Future reference soak the old grout/thinset with water before scraping comes off easier
Great video. How far are the water lines from the center of the drain?
Great video! Love the break down and the price at the end. Question, why not route the pex through the studs in the cavity?
That’s a great idea
Nice Video...I have a garden tub and would like to do the same as you have done here. Do you have a reliable plumber in Atlanta GA area? Note I live in a Condo so moving plumbing lines and drain is my main concern.
I couldn't tell, did you use the same tile for the baseboard? Or use a wood/synthetic wood baseboard?
Getting close to having to put a for sale sign up and buy another project home. Lol . It’s looking great and would bring a premium price.
haha definitely getting there
Can you do a video install a stand alone jetted tub - how to do the power and receptacels
That's a great job. I'd be nervous to tackle this type of job. What would do if you discovered the floor was a little high in a few spots before you tiled and after ?
There are self leveling concrete mixes
I noticed you don’t have a transition piece between your tile and LVP and you just used grout in between them. I’m thinking of doing the same between the master bedroom and bath. How is that holding up for you?
Great videos Braddah!! We about to move into a new house and we want to change a few things. Gunna try ado some of it myself.!
Right on!
You don't need to back butter. Just collapse the ridges by shaking the tile side to side. Also you didn't vent the drain for the tub?
With all the ryobi stuff you have, I'm surprised you don't have the ryobi caulk gun. It is totally unnecessary, but it makes super even beads.
I think painting the floor boards grey to match the mortar would make the area more appealing. It is way to white for me personally. Or some kind of plantation shutters...the beauty of that tub is being missed..
Happy to see the quality of this video being up to par with your older ones. Good job. Looks good but I don't think anyone that has a tub in their master bath ever uses it. I know we don't.
I’d kill for one …our bath in the kids bathroom is so shallow you either sit in eight inches of water or lay down with your legs sticking out of the water ….I’d love a deep bath I could soak in to soothe my arthritis and assorted aches and pains …lol..
Oh I do.
Turned out great! Do you have a recommendation between all the Wagner paint sprayers? I built some built-ins and am a bit confused by all of wagners offerings.
Basically two lanes. HVLP (needs diluting) and Airless sprayer (no need to dilute but take a lot of paint to cycle through
Do you get plumbing permit before you start this build?
Looks awesome. Was there an anti slip sealer you are going to put on the tile?
I'm curious, as well. We are picking out our tile and have been advised not to install the gloss finish, due to accidents.
OMG the sign@16:45. That was me doing a home project
Love it
Do you have a video or a QnA about all of your training/education/licenses? Just curious. I love watching your videos and learning how to do stuff. Just don't want to do accidentally
something that I need a license for.
No decoupling membrane under the floor tile?
I’m just here for the comments so I know the right way to do something
Is it really possible that we got a new video instead of those reuploads?
I think we fixed that glitch
@@MrBuildit looking forward to new content 😊 Keep up the good work!
I always enjoy watching your videos I just have one thing that really scares me, you should really wear a mask because that silica dust is so bad for you, keep up the great work!!
You have a link for that tile? All I’m seeing that’s close to that is $28 per sq ft. That would be $2k for mine and it’s looking the same size as yours
Are the costs pre or post tax?
Hi love the vids
when flexi pipe is pinched like that they tend to just explode out of nowhere over a little bit of time id say its very risky to leave them like that been ca;;ed out to multiple jobs f them exploding from this thought id give a heads up
Cause Habitat for Humanity or NOONE could have used that tub. WOW. Good job.
Come on Ryobi, give the man a jackhammer!! 🙌🏼
Man I would love a jackhammer
I just installed a soaker just like that today
nice video, i just found out that faucet is $999 :)
So in the video I noticed your on ground level..(I think) I have a tub in second story that I want to replace with a Free standing soaker, should my floor support already be strong enough for the narrower footprint of a filled tub than the tub that’s like yours? Probably a dumb question…
What I really like is your "get it done" attitude.. There will ALWAYS be minor issues but get it done. Great job.
If i had the money i would love to have someone renovating my house 😅
This is exactly what I need to do right now ….
Harborfreight utility knives ftw
thats why i built a do rag
Hey, open question - can the screw caps of those plastic tiling levellers be reused? It seems like a waste if you have to throw them away.
You can reuse the caps but hey new lifters
Get
I always admire your work. You are very skilled, no doubt but plumbing work on this project is a disaster. Leakage guaranteed. You've done such an amazing job, you should fix the plumbing.
hey man, what drain did you use for the tub? I have a similar situation with no access below the hub to secure. iv never seen one you screw in from the top.
Look up “Jacuzzi MZ2000” seems like what you might be needing to make the job easier
Can you give us an idea of total time spent as well?
Nice big bathroom i would toook out the pop room made that the big glass shower put the toilet where the small shower is big nice bath
A great amount of work and looks great! I would like to point out a couple of things. Fiberglass tape always does a better job than paper seam tape. Tried it once never went back to a paper one. The only place I would approve paper seam tape is the corners. Secondly, waterproofing was not done. Just a small bucket of waterproofing mass would have cost near to nothing and protected your wooden piping frame and foundation. Keep up your projects mate. Greetings from another side of the pond :)
Paper tape is stronger in more directions. It doesn’t stretch and rack and creates less cracking over time.
Mesh tape is good for small repairs.
@@BittyVids Agreed. I wouldn't have believed it untill I researched it. It's hard to understand why the old school products always work better.
Great point!
Wow 😍😍
Random question. What size is your bathroom ?
Are the tops of the tile levelers reusable?
Yes
Can you put how many hours it took with the price range? :)
You tha man!!!!!
great 😍
wear a mask so i can keep watching your videos❤
not bad Man
I can’t believe they put the pex plumbing manifold under the tub.
Looks great dude!! Next update…….the blinds. 😃
Love the tub! I have to ask, you have a lot of sponsors, do you 100% use or believe in what your pushing to your viewers? As a viewer and subscriber I’d like to know. Thanks. I know it’s tempting to get that bag, but I’d recommend NEVER taking equity x getting into further debt.
that faucet plumbing is a disaster and the tub not being angled correctly with the wall in the corner is driving me nuts
