Rendell Draw understood it straight away as I'm used to the accents from DQ8. I'm quite hyped right now as most Dragon Quest games are often quite good! I think people are trying to make memes on the fly by purposefully mishearing the trailer.

*2018:* Dragon Quest XI releases.
*2019:* Final Fantasy producer makes vague comment about how the success of DQXI has shown him that players are still hungry for classic-style JRPGs, and FF will return to its roots.
*2020:* Final Fantasy XVI announced. Is a first-person, online-only, sandbox game with procedurally-generated maps and Minecraft-style gameplay, and instead of battles it's Rocket League.
next final fantasy will be a battleroyale wihtout story
This is why Dragon Quest will always be better than final fantasy.

The Nintendo Switch version IS FINALLY here and i had to rematch this for the hype.
I am already getting feels from this trailer alone i cant wait to play this.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were going back to Alefgard and the Loto Trilogy with this considering the sword and even the title "Echoes of an Elusive Age". Holy crap I can't wait!

bumbayker just bought the 3ds. Is the game worth it? Lesser graphics are no problem for me. But sound Quality in a game with beautiful orchestra like DQ should stay the same for me.
If you can tolerate the censorship done (such as changing of certain scenes and covering up Jessica's and Red's costumes) the added features, 2 new playable characters (formerly NPCs), and new endings should be worth it. But if not stick to the PS2 version. Check these videos on their differences.

Well, it's been a long wait.
I wonder if you can still turn into a Super Saiyan during combat like you could in DQ8? That was one of my favorite features.
I already pre-purchased this game on Steam. =) Can't wait to play this on my PC!

Is Alec Newman one of the voice actors? Rab sort of sounds like Beast from DOS2 😁, I love the voice direction for this game anyway. I was just wondering if Rab and Beast are voiced by the same guy 😀.

I can't wait to use cheats / trainer to bypass shitty grind to enjoy the story, exploration and RPG progression at my pace! I love using trainers for some games and that's why I prefer PC edition. Cheat devices died on consoles long time ago.
...why would you want to mod the music? Unless you mean, add in more Dragon Quest tracks from older games.

They never planned to release the 3DS version outside of Japan.
Vitor Lehmkuhl They would have to remake that content from scratch with brand new assets to match the PS4/PC graphics, so that's definitely not gonna happen.
That is improbable but not impossible, Nintendo may even pay out of their pockets to have a superior version.

FFS, after pre-ordering the game on steam they make an special edition for ps4 only.
Oh well, long live PC master race anyway. At least you should get better graphics and possibly FPS, assuming they don't screw up the PC version.
The DQ heroes 1 and 2 ports were done pretty nicely, so I don't think they will screw with 11. Another advantage of the pc version is that we can mod the symphonic music in the game.

I want to play this so bad, but I don't think my i5 mx150 laptop can handle it.
Why not? I'm pretty sure my Surface Tablet can handle it and so should your laptop which should be in theory better. P.S - My Tablet can run GTA5 and Metro The Last Light at a decent frame rate. So you'll be fine with this game. The minimum spec requirements are usually bogus.

I been waiting for a Triple A JRPG that´s turn based for a long time. Sometimes I just want to sit back and just use one button. Action rpgs are overrated sometimes. Give me these any day of the week over most of the rpg´s out there.

I've finished the Japanese version already, to spoil that one of the knights is a bad guy for me is already ruining somebody else's experience.

Please provide a feature to rename your party characters. It's really deplorable that you had to change most of the character names of the main cast as well as other relevant characters. Seriously there was absolutely no reason to change them as the original names were perfectly fine.
bumbayker They can't be renamed, they are established characters that are called by name in dialogue
That's because the English localization was given voices. If there's an option to turn off their dialogue then changing their names wouldn't be an issue. It would be similar playing the Japanese version with the added enhanced features and English menu.

I know that! I thought that with the concept of light vs darkness, I thought it would be cool if Sora and friends were in this game.
Pretty much every JRPG has the concept of light vs dark.
I don’t like the music with the trailer. It seems not in pathos sync with the mood of storyline of the game itself. The music sounds cheery and jolly, whereas the story is about taking the fight to the enemy. The music doesn’t fit well with the trailer.

R J it's not really a new game, it's been out a while year in Japanese. They'd want to give more time to their in-develooment games
everybody says dragon quest 8, dragon quest 8, dragon quest 8.... like why do you want to play the same fucking storyline over again so many times i beat that game 3 times and on nintendo 3ds it is remastered so go have fun with ur dq8 while i play a new story with better graphics more things to do and possibly a wayyy bigger map more dungeons more fantasy :)
The map in this game (DQ11) is actually slightly smaller than DQ8, but it is more densely packed with locations and more detailed than ever before!

X was the MMORPG.
XI is not an MMORPG.
I mean, IX had an amazing story and it had character customization, although maybe if it had set side-protagonists it would've made for an ever better story (i actually advanced quite far into the game before realizing you're supposed to hire your teammates right from the start). In this case for example i would love to be able to make just my own main character.
