- Here's a No Damage version of this battle: • Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mi...
"None of this... makes sense to me". Well, I'm not surprised that even the game characters gave up. That sentence literally sums up this whole episode. Completing the Limit Cut (defeating all of the Organization XIII Data) unlocks this Secret Episode.
I already said before how this DLC made Kingdom Hearts 3 a better game, putting it on an extremely high level. Gameplay wise, we are finally able to exploit everything the game offers us, and we're actually forced to make a good use of Sora's full kit, something that the Dark Inferno alone didn't manage to do.
So, what about this Secret Boss? Well... I don't think there could be anyone else just as cool as he is. The music? The location? The character's way of talking and fighting? The whole dark and sad mood? They're a perfect mix. They managed to make an incredibly satisfying secret boss, but not only that, they actually made it even fun. Once you learn the right timing, avoiding Yozora's attacks and attacking him when wide open gives a great feel of satisfaction. You know, the same nice feeling of actually damaging a boss who seemed untouchable on a first glance.
I had high expectations for the Secret Boss of Kingdom Hearts 3. I wanted it to be deadly, fearsome, but at the same time extremely cool and fascinating. I even called it was Yozora (seemed pretty obvious from the DLC trailer) and I'm glad to realize that most of my hopes, both story and gameplay wise, have been greatly satisfied.
As for the Data battles, this fight was recorded pretty quickly on Proud Mode (although it took me a lot of tries) so I didn't have the time to study Yozora's second phase and understand a proper way to block/avoid all of those crazy attacks.
The first part of the battle was pretty manageable. Whenever I made a mistake, I was able to take the control again fairly quicker than expected. But of course, I plan on taking him on again on Critical and upload it later on.
And the ending? Well... I'm just going to say this: Nomura, YOU SLY FOX! After all this time, you just didn't want to lose your precious boy, did you?! And don't you dare to say again that "Yozora has nothing to do with another game I was developing in the past". C'mon now.
But who am I to judge? Just make good use of him. Oh and stop hurting Sora now that I'm at it.

He's also been away from home for a very long time. From 1 to 2, it's been a whole year, from 2 to 3, another year and from the end of 3 to him ending up in Shibuya is yet another year. And this time, his parents know for a fact that he's gone. No memory tricks to disguise the fact their their little boy has basically vanished for 2 years and likely won't be home for dinner for a little while longer.

I'm guessing Yozora fought Sora to see if he actually needed to be saved. That's why after he best Sora, he crystalized him to protect him from whatever impending doom is coming. When he's beaten by Sora, he says that his powers aren't needed. Sora can protect himself.

I think this is exactly it. Yozora beat Sora so he does what he can to protect him from whatever would be coming his way. You can also tell from his demeanor in the bad ending vs the good ending. The way he says "I will save you" in the bad ending is super creepy, kinda borderline stalkerish. Whereas in the good ending when Sora asks him what he means and he says "never mind", he sounds relieved and you can see a slight smile on his face right before the flash to The Final World, as if he's saying "take care".
This whole Yozora thing is actually really cool and I'm looking forward to seeing what Nomura does with it next.
im seeing it as how "heart" has its own definition in the kingdom hearts universe, "saving" will mean something else in Yozora's universe

Yes but he complied the trials. Whatever happend to Yozora and his girl, must have happend before. I assume that due to his appearance and heart changeythe nameless star talked about, Yozora is kinda confused as well. Be some how having the ability to travel to different worlds by dreaming (or Shibuya is still in the realm of sleep) he participated to get some answers how to save his girl (he might even now her name) and Joshua tells him to save Sora,which Yozora thinks is his girl or (maybe Sora and the girl have the same name).
All this from the beginning makes sense on here TWEWY come on Nomura finish its sequel at the end everyone out there agrees non of this makes sense period 😆

I'm assuming Luxord ended up in Shibuya or the world Yozora's from or if Shibuya and Shinjuku are in the same world, because in the World Ends With You, Shinjuku exists and is destroyed, from after being displaced from the past like Lauriam, Elrena and Demyx's original selves were because Shibuya was attacked by the Heartless, which maybe how Luxord ended up a Nobody
So the scene in the limo could be either a flashback or a scene in the present and Luxord told Yozora to save Sora as a favor to Sora

* Yozora's form / avatar is not his real appearence.
* Yozora's mission is to save Sora no matter what. However, is a Sora from his Universe. A totally different Sora from the KH Universe.
* The Nameless Star is the girl from the Verum Rex trailer.
* Yozora's rank is not a prince. It's a commander. (And Luxord is his driver.)
* Yozora claims that he "went through some trials", meaning that he could reffering to what has transpired on the Verum Rex trailer or the Reaper games. (?)
* Yozora's concept is based of Noctis's FFXIII Versus. His red eye, teleport ability, serious attitude, ability to connect with people through dreams and use of multiple weapons.

I'm actually more interested in the Sora losing ending than him winning. I want to know what Yozora meant by saving Sora. So hype for the next main game.
Same. Like it doesn't make sense that in good ending you beat him and like he just went back in his world or more like wake up saying your power is not needed. That didnt gave me the Save Sora vibes he is talking earlier this.
But the bad ending gave me that vibe. I hope the bad ending even if not the canon one or true ending, somehow manage to at least mix to the good one. It is a cool concept as well with Sora being crystallize
I personally believe the first one of the true ending. This might be an introduction to what the next game will be of Nomura. So we might not see Kingdom hearts 4 for a veeeeeeeeery long time. Meaning he will probably make Yozora's game now but in that game there will be snippets of Sora, as maybe his a dream like aspect in his mission will be of saving Sora, whilst his stand alone story will be his main story focus. If you understand what I mean.
I'm pretty sure, this will be connected to kingdom hearts but also a stand alone story. And after Verun rex ends, then kingdom hearts 4 begins.
Clearly both endings are canon and now we have one less sora until Luxord uses his wild card to bring back dead sora to living sora’s timeline while being the Best Uber Driver the world has ever known.

It has to raise questions to prepare for the next chapter.
In TWEWY, one of the main characters takes up their friends appearance and voice as payment to go into the Reapers Game, so that’s probably the same thing that happened with Yozora
Sora's trapped in his Station of Heart, all the while his Heart who now where is floating...
Somehow, he connected with the heart of Yozora, like Ventus did with him a long time ago. Then, Yozora, who has been told to save Sora, tried to "save him" by using (some sort) of "power of awakening" by defeating him in his Station so his heart could go at least to the Final World in hopes of reforming its body. In the end, Yozora succeeds, waits in that world, but suddenly loses the connection and wakes up in his real world.
Meanwhile, Sora wanders in the Final World or a similar (dark) reality (cuz no body) searching for more connections.
Eventually, I assume Riku would find the real world of Yozora and he would explain this battle as a form of a hint for salvation, while Kairi tries to anchor whatever she will find of Sora in her heart, like a safe.
Also, expect more MoM, Luxu and Black Box mixed with time travels and darkness.
And there you go, Kingdom Hearts 4. Except with 14 less Disney Worlds.

KHUx could introduce ONE LAST WORLD. MAYBE. in the form of 104. MAYBE NOT WHO KNOWS. also, there IS gonna be a new mobile game for KH coming out during 2020. we may get some more explanation on all of this in the coming months. but if [Player] is Yozora, OH MY GOD THAT WOULD MAKE SO MUCH SENSE.
@Mustapha El Saytari you must consider that the same Xemnas told to Marluxia, Larxene, Demyx and Luxord that he chose them as the last members of the Organization XIII at first because they are the Legacy of the Keyblade War
Demyx has to be the MOM, he literally has the same style of speaking and mannerisms. As for Yozora, who really knows? Could be the KHUX player character, Sora from another world, or some version of Noctis.
Only thing that makes sense is Luxord being from this world since his whole gimmick is playing games.

What's really funny is that the line he speaks when talking to Xigbar he tells Luxord to "Follow his orders" then Luxord replies with "Yes, that's what I've always done. I followed the orders from above without question" Implying he might have been following orders from Yozora the entire time.
The Versus XIII salt is so unsubtle that even the boss music sounds like a low key Omnis Lacrima or is that just me?

sora's been put temporarily out of commission multiple times already in this series, we don't need to see it again. i want sora to evolve. he can't evolve if he's on ice. i like the oath to return ending better. also, yozora smiles in that one.

After a long break from observing Yozora, I noticed something new. If you look at the lighting and the contrast of his hair, the scalp is black and later contrasts to a dark gray, almost as if his hair had been dulled out from losing his "soul." I think that further proves the Nobody earing found on his ear means he is in fact a Nobody of someone, probably Noctis.

You know this makes me realise something: What if this bossfight was only in the data-world?
Like this whole secret ending is the last traces of Sora before he went off the grid, and those last moments were spent fighting this unknown individual (Yozora). And based on the environment, this would cause RIku to begin travelling worlds until he finds Shibuya.
Honestly I've got bubcus. I have no idea what is going on in this moment between Sora and Yozora. I feel there's a lot of interpretations you could find especially since it's a win or lose fight with two different endings depending. But if there's one thing its Nomura has a lot of balls to do this, and Square just lets him.
Well, they already created the models for the characters. Wouldn't be surprised if they used the same engine.
notice how in the bad ending yozora says "none of this makes sense to me" but in an oath to return sora says "none of this makes sense to me." it's indicating the one who remains in the final world at the end of the battle and possibly something else..
Oh my goodness! The "Save Sora" line was from either from Riku, or maybe even... Neku (or another TWEWY character)! He clearly said "Then, I was told to 'save Sora'" AFTER going through the trials at that place.
I also think the "crystallization" will be explored later on, as in what happened with Kairi and Sora (bad ending). Another theory is the guy with the glasses in the "Verum Rex" trailer in ToyBox is one with Luxord's voice.
"Never mind" basically sums up the whole cutscene. Nothing else is learned really. We know now that Yozora is a "commander", and that Luxord is his fricken' chofer apparently. Seriously that was definitely Luxord, I'd recognise Robin Atkin Downs' voice anywhere.

I think the biggest surprise for me in this secret ending is that Yozora is voiced by Dylan Sprouse. LIKE HOLY HECK that rascal from Suite Life of Zack and Cody sounds so dang different lol.

Considering he may have been in contact with the Master of Masters, he was most likely introduced to the part of himself that believes his role is to use his power to “save” people.
He doesn’t sound accomplished when he sends Sora off in the losing cutscene. Made more evident at the fact this isn’t his first “weird dream”.
It appears he knows who Sora is, but he doesn’t know why Sora doesn’t know himself... Or rather, who Sora is representing through the light of his heart.
Yozora probably thinks he can see through this with his powers. And when you win, Sora proves him wrong.
I’m more interested in what Yozora’s dreams and powers mean to him.
Looking forward to it.

A little dumb connection I've made.
Considering how Yozora echoes some words Sora said at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts, it made me think about the first trailer for the first game (which also mentions the fact that the world seems unreal) and how in early builds of KH1 it seemed that Sora's existence was going to disappear and how they had to save Sora, which was what Yozora was instructed to do.
I remember feeling this confused after watching the secret cutscene of KH1.
Why are they repeating Sora's first quote from KH1?
It probably symbolizes the start of a new beginning, especially since the Xehanort Saga has ended.
But what will come from all this? No one knows. Nomura is being secretive and as mysterious as usual.

I have a good theory on what's happening. This is NOT a 'it-was-all-just-a-dream' thing and Sora will be ok after this.
A confirmation to Sora being ok is that Nomura said in a interview that Sora will still be the protagonist after 3 meaning Sora is alive and well even if the universe spirited him to the afterlife/limbo. Yozora, Luxord, Riku and Kairi will play a huge role in restoring Sora.
I gave these endings a few more looks and came to the conclusion that in the ending where Yozora fades and states, "Looks like my powers aren't needed yet" and in the ending where Yozora beats and crystallizes Sora then Yozora wakes up in the car again, I think Yozora has the power to crystalize things and spirits their light away, not to kill but for safe keeping and the power to see into future timelines and worlds (maybe he crystalizes people and things into his heart because the stained glass floor of Sora's heart re-manifested into what looked like Yozora's city). Yozora said, "I WILL save you" to Sora and it seems like he sincerely meant that.
In the ending where Sora beats him, Yozora smiled and states "my powers aren't needed yet/ nevermind" to Sora, his smile seems kind and while he didn't crystalize Sora yet and just left Sora alone in the limbo afterlife, he knows Sora is still in trouble so he has to go save him quick. Both endings are canon in a way. Yozora's power wasn't needed yet meaning he was supposed to save Sora by crystalization for safety but couldn't for some reason and since he was beaten by our boy, he didn't want to overload Sora's soul with the details with his savior duties then he wakes up in the car again. It seems to me Yozora has been having weird thoughts lately-for a good long while. Maybe he acts as a savior to his own world using his powers of 'sight', his crystallization, and his energy stealing weapons to help his people if he's a king, like Noctis is a prince to his people. (Noctis goes out to save his people having some power of weapon crystallization, I've only seen a few things of FF 15 having not played it yet). Yozora could be a commander to his country's army seeing 'possible' Luxord was reffering to him as a commander in the car. (I didn't know it was Luxord at first until others pointed him out when I went to rewatch the endings).
Yozora, having those powers, most likely told Luxord about his 'weird thoughts' and 'weird dreams' of Sora (since all hearts and worlds are connected) and told Luxord to help Sora too. Luxord agreed to help, being Yozora's friend and right hand man/advisor and Yozora crystalized him into light and spirited him away into Sora's galaxy/universe. Luxord became a Nobody to help Sora secretly and thus gave Sora a wild card in 3 to help Sora in the the future. Sora will use likely this card in the future games, if not in 4 to get him out of a jam. This is why we knew nothing of Luxord before and when Luxord mentioned to Luxu/Xigbar, '"Yes, that's what I've always done. I've followed orders from above, without question. However, I just can't help reading into my opponent's strategy."' Then Luxord asked about the box and Luxu/Xigbar asked who he was. Luxord was never from Sora's universe/galaxy AT ALL, he is from Yozora's universe!
Luxord agreed to play cards with Sora again just before he was re-completed back into a human since after Nobodies turn back into people they go back to the place/world they came from. Luxord then reported back to Yozora that he gave Sora the card to help him and Yozora went to seek Sora out afterwards to save him if Sora was on the verge of going Keyblade heaven and if Sora goes to heaven, his friends will never see him again until they die.
Sora was on the brink of going to heaven and Yozora knew this by his otherworldly future/world sight thus crystalizing Sora storing him away in his heart for safety like Sora does to other people to protect/help them. As Yozora stated to Sora, "if you are who you say, and it was fate that brought us here then... my path is clear."
Sora is the key to saving the worlds/universe from darkness possibly for forever and Yozora will aid him in that fight seeing Yozora and co. were fighting some kind of enemy back in the Toy Story commercial. Maybe Yozora can world hop too? Yozora looked like he was trying to save his love interest in the commercial but might have failed temporary. That unknown star speaking to Sora in limbo could have been Yozora's girlfriend. Seeing Sora's love interest, AKA Kairi, told Yozora to save him, Yozora couldn't save his girl yet so he takes orders from Kairi to save her love interest, Sora, and they all might help Yozora save his love interest in the process after he and Sora become friends as well.
Before Yozora's soul meets Sora in the afterlife/limbo, he runs into Kairi's soul most likely after she was shattered and ended up in limbo who then tells Yozora (after Yozora goes through his trials) to help Sora. Yozora, being the possible nice guy savior he is, goes to save Sora at the request of Kairi and his 'weird thoughts' and 'weird dreams'. Yozora and Sora state that "None of this... makes sense to me." indicating Yozora might not have a full grasp on his future timeline/wordly sight powers and Sora is thrown into Yozora's problems. Maybe he'll mention that to Sora in 4? Sora might say to Yozora: "Well, I might not have the power to see into the future timelines or into the future of other worlds but we're friends now so I'll do whatever it takes to help you beat this darkness and help you find your girlfriend since you, Kairi, Riku and my friends helped me out" Sora and Luxord then play a game of cards as promised (and we might see a kiss between Sora and Kairi this time). If my theory is correct, I'm going to fall in love with Yozora!
But... what was the Master doing in Yozora's city? Is Master keeping tabs on Yozora the same way he might have tabs on Sora? Maybe the Master is keeping tabs on Yozora since Yozora can see into the future like he can?

He made mention of having to play through that games trials. It's all TWEWY lore related. Just for some reason Nomura dragged FF13Versus characters into it instead of just like getting rid of them like they scraps they were lol.

Alright so here is my very weird theory about Yozora, forgive me if I mess up names or something: So, Sora and Yozora are in a place called the Unreality, which exists between the light and darkness, right? I’m wondering if Yozora is an alternate version of Riku, because Riku uses both powers of light and darkness, so he created an alternate version of himself, hanging between the light and darkness. It would explain why Yozora said that Yozora isn’t even his name, why he has to save Sora, and why he looks like Riku. Maybe?
Now the question is: Why is that Luxord driving the car?

x CEGold what’s interesting is that someone asked Robin Atkin Downes (Luxord’s VA) if he voiced the driver. He didn’t respond, but he did liked the tweet.
What gets lost on people here due to the English dub is that in the original Japanese version, Sora is voiced by Miyu Irino and Yozora is voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka. Irino played Astral (the deuteragonist) in Yugioh Zexal and Hatanaka played Yuma (main character). At the end of Zexal, they had a duel, which in Yugioh terms is a Battle Ceremony, where only one would win to determine their fates. Nomura (whether intentional or not) reunited the characters after 6 years and made them have another Battle Ceremony. Definitely a hyped up and meaningful moment for a Japanese Yugioh and KH fan.
