No one really goes over that Yazora does something that has so far been impossible in the lore of the series. He steals, albeit temporarily, a keyblade.
@Wanderingsage7 Oh my god, how that never crossed my mind is beyond me. Maybe it's because I'm too desensitized to be shocked that anybody can get a Keyblade. xD
Something to note about the fake outs - when Yozura appears directly in front of Sora, that indicates a takeout. Only when Yozura changes where he appears (to the left or right) of Sora, that indicates him coming in to actually attack. You can see this more clearly if you stand still during his fakeout attacks instead of moving about the arena
The boss we nvr imagined to face, Yozora in my opinion is on a different lvl as if he's LW from the future and in my mind he's the best/toughest and most entertaining boss we've always wanted to see
Something else I've noticed is that the Crystal Regalia accessories dropped by Yozora and Dark Inferno appear to be referencing/foreshadowing the endings, particularly the one where Yozora wins. "Crystal" refers to Sora's fate if Yozora wins, as well as being a generic FF reference, while "Regalia" is the name of Noctis's car in FFXV, and the Versus XIII version appears in both endings.
If you shotlock with ultima weapon during the first tractor beam attack and use it immediately, the first 3 hits will break armor and the last 2 will damage him normally. He is also opened for you to combo him.
It took me forever to beat this guy, and that was on Easy and having given myself so many Defense Buffs that Dark Inferno barely phased me and so many Strength and Magic Boosts that I could take out half of Dark Inferno's HP with one Ultimate Form combo and do half a health bar with a Firaga. The thing is, this guy is very aggressive, he wants to force you to be defensive, and he will not leave himself open, you need to FORCE an opening.
I got max strength and defense and almost max Magic now and all the best gear i can get, now just gotta have the mood to fight this yocuntza on Proud mode.
@@Jeptheplay this is the fight to really get the player's skills in gear, both defense and offensively, once learning all his moves like flashcards, I dominated him on Critical Mode
Actually being aggressive seems like a bad move in this fight. Learning his attacks and counter-attacking when you know he has an easy opening is the only way to beat this guy on harder difficulties. If you don't know the punish for a move just wait until he starts another one.
A world taking place in the ruins of Cocoon or Gran Pulse would actually be kind of cool. If they open up ruined Cocoon a bit and remove some hallways it could be a great world. A place like new Bodhum would fit perfectly in a Kingdom Hearts game. Maybe Sora would have to use the power of awakening to unfreeze Vanille and Fang.
The scene when Sora turns to ice is actually reminiscent of something that occurs in Final Fantasy XIII. In FFXIII, characters were prone to turning into crystal statues under certain circumstances, and Final Fantasy XV/Versus XIII was actually originally supposed share in the same lore. Therefore, it's widely believed that it isn't ice, but crystal that Sora becomes encased in, making it another Final Fantasy nod.

Holy shit i got goosebumps when you opened up with the possibilitie of KH being a parallel Video game to Verum Rex......that makes scaringly much sense with what we know so far
Really well done video, I only have one gripe with it. I wish you mentioned all the cool little differences and details on Sora's Secret episode character model. His color bones are more refined, he now has a lot of skin blemishes and marks on his hands and elbows and generally all over his body. The lightning on him is a lot more realistic too. Same goes for the textures of his clothes and chain. They overhauled the entire character model which I could not help but notice from the moment you see sora staring at his hand in the secret episode.
Basically with the reticle move, he has three sets of attacks he does. The one where he starts with a fast slash, the one that starts with two fake outs, and the last one that starts with one slow slash. He’ll do those in a random order, and the last one you didn’t know how the fake outs worked basically is the same thing. He’ll either do 2, 3, or 4 fakeouts. It’s random which one he does first, but he’ll always do all three of them before he does the same one again. So if he did that specific move 4 tines, you’d only see the same number of fakeouts once. All of these DLC bosses run on different kinds of cycles and patterns, it’s weird honestly. Hope that helped :)
Win or Lose, you still feel like you just made a grave mistake, both endings are just so somber before we get the scene with Yoroza in the car. Getting a strong feeling that Sora and Yoroza are going to be way more deeply connected, like Sora's heart is now within Yoroza's to maybe a less dominant extent depending on the victor of the fight, I have nothing to base this off except that it's so strange that the order in which they deliver the lines just feels important for each ending.
The last thing, about the "an oath to return" part, reminds me of a line in the Japanese version of Don't Think Twice "it's not a promise, it's an Oath" I wonder if this same distinction is made with that end scene. Also, the music for this fight is so damn good. Shimomura, if she composed it, has hit another one out of the park.
One thing I like that Yozora does during his fight is that he only DMs once, once. Because I will freely admit that 2FM superbosses spammed their DMs way too much.

The amount of little details in the attack animations of KH is absolutely phenomenal. I would LOVE to see a breakdown of more KH boss fights just so we can appreciate the little details. -I'd totally be a Patreon patron for that too- !
Something to mention while i personally fought yozoro, when he does those fake out attacks in 16:40, 17:20, and in 22:30 he will always have 5 "attack attempt" (where he dashes or flips at you making a real or fake attack), 3 of which are fake and 2 are real. if you can count the attacks he does that, you can predict when his next attack is real, particularly after dodging/blocking the first real attack. Normally i'd just dodge roll at the moment he disappears since it will dodge when the attack is real, then block the next hit after counting it. I have dodge the second real attack when he's doing the flip attack, while the dash attacks I've always blocked since he hits multiple times. Edit: cant really explain what happened at the third wave in 23:24 tho. the only time the 5 "attack attempt" rule was sometimes inconsistent
This gotta be one of favourite boss fight in the whole series I love his background love his music and his attacks Also a tip if anyone need it when Yozora doing the barrage of laser attack he followed a strict pattern as in he can do teleports from the middle and then the side and he can do this attack during any of three barrage of laser attack
lol i saw your tweet about the video was was pleasantly surprised to see it be over 20 mins. There' so much to yozora and i can't wait to see more of him :) I've seen some theorise that he's kinda like xion in which his appearance changes depending on who sees him. It's interesting to see that he has access to sora's heart station, can steal his keyblade (i.e. an extension of his heart), and has hp stealing attacks (perhaps he and xion are absorbing sora??)
Just fought Yazora for the first time a few days ago, have not beat him yet, but when he stole the keyblade that was the craziest thing I’ve seen in all 3 main games lol. Literally shouted “what the fuck!?!?!” At my tv 😂
I think the trials Yozora went through were his tutorials. Anytime you go to practice gameplay mechanics in Kingdom Hearts III, you do it in The Final World. Heck, the first boss of the game is fought in The Final World. I get the feeling we’re going to play as Yozora in a future game and fight Sora as the first boss.
Wish you mentioned this being "nomuras revenge" on ffxv versus xiii as noctis caelum means night sky and same for yozora and how verum rex means true king really good breakdown though keep it up 👍👍
Granted, his abilities would need to be toned down and balanced out damage-wise to make the game even remotely fair for the enemies, but Yozora's kit seems like it could be extremely fun to play with. You could do something similar to Sora needing to fill up his formchange meters or focus gauge in order to deploy some of his machines, like the ones that trap Sora in a triangular prism or the projector sphere thing that seems to be able to change the gravity of an area (albeit temporarily.) There's lots of potential for an extremely fun, fast-paced moveset there, and I hope either Yozora becomes playable in the next game or Sora unlocks some similar tricks. Speaking of...I know this is a point of contention, but I feel like the "bad ending" where you lose to Yozora is the canon ending. I mean...We know Sora spends some amount of time wandering Shibuya (Quadratum) and Yozora is quite clearly alive and well in those scenes. And, if Sora had simply ended up in The Final World again, wouldn't Riku, Kairi, and the Fairy Godmother have found him when they went searching the place? I could be missing something...But it strikes me as the most logical to assume the "correct" ending is losing to Yozora. Why even bother animating a wholly unique cinematic for losing a fight if it didn't carry deeper significance? Every other boss (secret superbosses included) has simply presented you with the standard death screen when you lose a fight, but the cutscene that takes place seems to build further on the implications of the Versus XIII lore colliding with the KH universe.
Sorry Friend, there were more opening and more things you could’ve mentioned. Honestly kinda happy that I learned this boss so much that I could see missing information on other people’s video. Still an awesome video and I loved rewatching glimpses of my deaths one more time. Sigh..
Probably just me, but the way Yozora fights feels fundamentally similar to Xigbar. Both use gravity shifting abilities, teleport all the time (which I know isn't new to KH bosses at all, as many of them do it especially those in the Organization) and both have ranged weapons. Just Yozoras is a crossbow and Xigbars is a gun. But both also use space warping powers to change the trajectory of their shots as well. Many have probably noticed that, but it was the first time I've really seen Yozoras fight and it seems very similar to Xigbar at times.
Also has a lot of moves from Zexion’s Re:COM fight for some reason! Like stealing powers, the vacuum that sucks you in, even Yozora jumping down on the dome of data with his sword is a Zexion move.
I'm noticing that yozora is actually one of the few og kingdom hearts characters that is left-handed. Ven was also supposed to be left-handed if we notice his grip in the bbs and secret movies...but i dunno why he is right-handed in-game... Yeah i know yozora used his bowgun on his right hand but his sword attacks are left-handed.
I was able to escape the sequence after he steals the keyblade without taking damage just one time. It was a bit difficult timing the rolling just right. This is such a fun boss.
Sadly i still cannot watch this glorious breakdown. I still need to beat the data org and would like to experience this fight personally myself. the best i can do is leave you a like for support
I blocked the first beam and dodge roled out of the next two straight into attack. That's how I staggered him during that sequence. Also if you use ultimate form while yozora is trying to take your items you can get out of it the same way that you did. (He'll heal half a bar though.) You have to dodge when he teleports, then dodge again straight into attack when he returns.
How can a video game character ever understand reality? "None of this..makes sense to me". Bio-Roxas, you nailed it. Kingdom Hearts is a video game in Yozora's world. And Sora can't even begin to comprehend that. Calling it now.
I think that Yozora either gave up his true heart and/or appearance to play the reapers game or someone did to him what Xehanort did to Terra in BBS. However I think his will is so strong that he maintains control of himself even though his appearance changed. That would explain the 2 eye colors.
Something interesting is that the pyramid attack Yozora uses is that it kinda reminds of the yellow stun shields in FF7. Please forgive me if I got the name wrong I only played FF7 remake and the beginning of the original.
To be honest, Yozora's offensive style is similar to Sword Art Online II- Phantom Bullet arc, Gun Gale Online's weapon class, gun and sword Kirito used in the Bullet of Bullets... (But my view it is how he holds his weapon and how he fights). It would have been a great form change or class to use if you beat him... Overall great analysis breakdown for this secret boss! So the game can actually have a bad ending for once (slightly)...
When I’m up against the tractor beam that steals the kupo coin I like to wait until the end of his 3rd beam and cast Thundaga which creates an opening (Gotta use airstep in order to get to him before he lands) Also, Young Xehanort said that he was from a video game when he threw Sora into the Gigas mini game
you should note that red lasers shoot out rather fast(forcing you to spam Guard) and blue lasters rather slow(to give time for Sora to recover from Blocked stance to Idle to allow a Dodge Roll) that one frame between 6:35 and 3:36 is *WASTED* and there is also a phase 1 to death combo possible. genji usegi is i spelt the name correct.
I feel like it'll be revealed that the reason yozora is able to steal the keyblade is because he used to be a wielder himself aka the Khux player. We know the player melted into a new heart again after dark road due to nomura. However, we dont know where they are now
I just had a horrible thought yesterday as I was going to sleep, what if we have it all wrong. Yozora wants to save Sora because his physical body is held in captivity by the Master of Masters, who needs his soul which is in the Final World for some nefarious goal as well.
I’ve always loved your breakdown videos! I’ve been waiting for this one too! Thank you so much for the consistent quality content. Any chance on doing Lingering Will or Eraqus from BBS? 🤔
I don't think Sora and Yozora actually fight and its a "dream" since at the opening of KH4 sora wakes up in quadratum and it doesn't matter if you win or not Yozora wakes up in both. So I would assume they both wake up at the same time.
I think Yozora is probably a part of the Yakuza rather than a Military soldier. The Mechs that he fought in the first Verum Rex trailer, are probably part of the military in his world.
I'm watching this video not long after my first fight with Yozora. After a long and gruelingly difficult session, I managed to defeat Data-Xion and Data-Xehanort. The game took me straight to Yozora, of course. He defeated me fast enough, I sighed at yet another attack that reduces your maximum HP, and I saw the end. I had been playing for a good while and I needed a break, so I stopped and, well, FF7R has not allowed me to go back to KH3 just yet... But now that I have seen this video, all of Yozora's tricks and everything he can do to me, I know I am never going to defeat that guy. I'm just not good enough, even on Normal. If you're even going to cheat to the point of stealing my items, I don't want to play with you anymore. XD
Sora: he's (Roxas)sora he's (vanitas)sora he's (data)sora she's (xion)sora He's (ventus) probably sora are there any more sora's out there? MOM: hello Sora:🖕😡🖕
There are many character who mirror Sora in some way, among them Includes: Riku, Roxas, Ventus, Vanitas, Xion, Neku & even Master Xehanort. Yozora seems to be the latest revealed one.
@@millionshadesofdarkness2165 Good eye on that. I now realize how "capture-like" his moves were after some reflection. Really nice touch to the battle and what Yozora is capable of.
My best guess is that Yozora believes the heart of the girl he's trying to save (also named Sora) is inside our Sora. He views Sora as something akin to how we see Heartless; when we defeat one, we set the heart they'd stolen for themselves free. He's trying to save the girl, and he believes our Sora has stolen her heart like a Heartless would. So, when Sora crystallizes, Yozora's determination is solidified; he will save her, but he's not quite sure how to get her heart out of Sora. That is, he assumes her heart is inside Sora; we know that's probably not the case, but somebody put him up to this and convinced him pretty thoroughly.
There is away I found out how to knock yozora armor without taking damage period. I am not sure if it is consistent but so far I think it works. What I do is right as he starts scanning I glide on the outside of his rang but what I do is air step towards him from the outside of the scanner & not going directly through it. For some reason it doesn't damage Sora if you air step through the corner of the attack then quickly punish him stopping the attack allowing you to get a opening. After I punish that attack I air step down to him to get a free combo because if you don't he will do the laser attack after. I have been wanting to upload a video showing this trick but think it might be useless but it does stop it quick and he can't continue it either.
good job dude. Such a good fight

Granted, his abilities would need to be toned down and balanced out damage-wise to make the game even remotely fair for the enemies, but Yozora's kit seems like it could be extremely fun to play with.
You could do something similar to Sora needing to fill up his formchange meters or focus gauge in order to deploy some of his machines, like the ones that trap Sora in a triangular prism or the projector sphere thing that seems to be able to change the gravity of an area (albeit temporarily.)
There's lots of potential for an extremely fun, fast-paced moveset there, and I hope either Yozora becomes playable in the next game or Sora unlocks some similar tricks.
In the KH3 novel the bad ending is canon. In fact, Yozora strikes Sora so fast with 1 hit, Sora falls not even knowing what just happened.
Sorry Friend, there were more opening and more things you could’ve mentioned. Honestly kinda happy that I learned this boss so much that I could see missing information on other people’s video. Still an awesome video and I loved rewatching glimpses of my deaths one more time. Sigh..
This is the first time someone brought up the KH1 smoke at the end of the cutscenes! We've essentially gone full circle.
I got two words for yeah “Disco Ball Fiasco”!
upset over Phil not having any lines in KH3?
@FREDRICK ADAMKIEWICZ I only said it because he "pulled a Phil"
@FREDRICK ADAMKIEWICZ well you looked at what I said the wrong way
Probably just me, but the way Yozora fights feels fundamentally similar to Xigbar.
BTW his double blue laser attack after the double red laser attackthere's a chance to attack him using flow motion.
Boss fights are fun?
the frenzied sword combos that yozora does looks similar to the middle of Lingering wills/Terra's Ars Solum attack
A bit.
Sadly i still cannot watch this glorious breakdown. I still need to beat the data org and would like to experience this fight personally myself. the best i can do is leave you a like for support
Did you beat them yet?
@@taffmeister584 not even close.
*Bio-Roxas is about to face Yozora then hots it with the Suite Life of Zack and Cody theme*
For what it's worth, Yensid mentions in DDD that the Realm of Sleep has a different flow of time than the Realm of Light
Does he? I didn't realize! Thanks for pointing that out.
no no, i believe the ending where you lose is when he literally emptying 2 clip of a pistol at you while you are getting crystalize
Something interesting is that the pyramid attack Yozora uses is that it kinda reminds of the yellow stun shields in FF7. Please forgive me if I got the name wrong I only played FF7 remake and the beginning of the original.
“After dealing a certain amount of damage” the boy can literally use his ‘ultimate attack’ at the very beginning of the fight
25:00 Technically Verum Rex is a game in the Toy Box. Not Destiny Islands.
Those data circles/orbs that the Keyblades fly out of at 15:50 look kind of like Dream Portals.
Great content as always
Dang bio you really put alot of work into this great job
Finaly another player who knows that its ice that covers sora!!!
Yozora is officially the coolest character in kingdom hearts. I mean final fantasy!
When I’m up against the tractor beam that steals the kupo coin I like to wait until the end of his 3rd beam and cast Thundaga which creates an opening (Gotta use airstep in order to get to him before he lands)
Also, Young Xehanort said that he was from a video game when he threw Sora into the Gigas mini game
you should note that red lasers shoot out rather fast(forcing you to spam Guard) and blue lasters rather slow(to give time for Sora to recover from Blocked stance to Idle to allow a Dodge Roll)
that one frame between 6:35 and 3:36 is *WASTED*
and there is also a phase 1 to death combo possible. genji usegi is i spelt the name correct.
I feel like it'll be revealed that the reason yozora is able to steal the keyblade is because he used to be a wielder himself aka the Khux player. We know the player melted into a new heart again after dark road due to nomura. However, we dont know where they are now
A little late to the comment party, but you and Will should collab to do the other data battles as well. Thank you for the content, Bio.
6:37 Don't think no one would notice that "wasted" meme!
I just had a horrible thought yesterday as I was going to sleep, what if we have it all wrong.
Yozora wants to save Sora because his physical body is held in captivity by the Master of Masters, who needs his soul which is in the Final World for some nefarious goal as well.
Can’t wait for the next Kingdom Hearts Game. Hopefully in March of the 20th anniversary event we will get Kingdom Hearts Verum Rex!
The night world & boss theme is so good
I think Yozora is probably a part of the Yakuza rather than a Military soldier.
XD
Sora: he's (Roxas)sora he's (vanitas)sora he's (data)sora she's (xion)sora
He's (ventus) probably sora are there any more sora's out there?
MOM: hello
Sora:🖕😡🖕
There are many character who mirror Sora in some way, among them Includes: Riku, Roxas, Ventus, Vanitas, Xion, Neku & even Master Xehanort. Yozora seems to be the latest revealed one.
@@soralight_x agreed 😂
I only just realised, at 6:37 you include a wasted death screen from gta
Yozora: “So anyways I started blastin..”
So why does Yozora attack Sora if he's trying to "save him?" lol
notice the entire fight Yozora is using Skills and attacks to Capture sora
6:35 If you look very closely it says wasted lol
Yozora better end up being a playable character in the next game if he's in it
11:58
You can also use keyblade transformation to break the barriers
This was such a great breakdown
TWEWY stuff isn't related. They have to use 104 instead of the real life 109 because that number on that building is copyrighted.
Who cares it’s a fucking building! God forbid it has the same number as the real life counter part in a video game 🎮
The world will end!
Nomura really just be like "I put all this effort into vs 13 and you are going to get it weather you like it or not"
Beat him in proud after about like 2 weeks. Never gonna do it in critical, I need to keep some sense of my sanity.
Wait wait waut.
Didnt Joshua say something about Matsunae’s name in Final remix? Could Her dreams be whats necessary to find Sora or something?
HOLY SHIT, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT AT 15:19!!!
