Well done! You've managed to consistently fill out the view without blocking the view - getting the most out of the space so that you can always see where you're immediately going and where you'll eventually end up. Seems very true to the quality of level design in Uncharted. Much applause!
thats so damn confusing, like theres just pieces of blocks there but it literally feels like a whole environment. i didnt know blockout mattered that lot, thank you!
Really damn good brother. One thing i would suggest is having camera events for climbing because for uncharted when climbing the camera is always backed away from the player and set to a path to increase that sense of scale and danger. Take a look at some of the older games too to see what i mean but other then that good shit bro
Very cool stuff man! You applied the blockout perfectly, it seems like you have your core mechanics and game loop in place, now you can scale the content very nicely, hope you make something of it ;)
WoW, I feel like Tomb Rider man version rather than uncharted This is a perfect use of ALS!!!!! Modified to the teeth and used the best way possible, absulotely love it, great job grreat job, level design is also perfect to my level of underestanding Subscribed instantly
Thank you so much! For the animations it is built in the advance locomotion system, which is a free asset from the Unreal Marketplace :) but this particular version is the Interaction with Advanced Locomotion System by Jakub W. available on his Patreon!
Animations looks very convincing ... i wonder how would it look with a proper detailed model... will there be any jank that will be shown with the final model or not.....
Cool stuff! It looks fun to play. I like how it's easy and simple to navigate, objective is clear and there is still a feeling of exploration and discovery. I'd like to hear your thoughts about creative process through narration or commenting the video
Cool Level design, you really know to make objects look clear and visually appealing in the level. Can you share , from where you studied design, any online courses talks you can recommed ? as I am good in making blockouts too but sometimes I fail in making the object sizes realistic and visually appealing.
Thank you ! It was my goal with this level and I'm glad you see it. As per where I studied level design, I just read up online, going to start a degree this year. If you want a good community to find lots of info on Level Design, follow Steve Lee's videos here : www.youtube.com/@stevelee_gamedev this level was part of one of his jams.
This is really inspiring, it made wonder, what method did you use to block out your environment, as well as textures? I’ve been looking over RUclips tutorials and everyone seems to have a different way to do things.
Assuming that stage 1 is completed now How many stages are you planning to make in all? Assuming that the current game volume is 30 minutes, how many hours of game volume do you plan? How many minutes of volume are you planning for the scenario?
2:18 stopped the video... try to find out who asked me to join the meeting. joke aside, i have bit question about the placement of chest on 3:40, the chest is quite hidden, and once you can see it 4:18 the bridge is already collapse and i can't see a way to get back. is there any location that player can see the chest before crossing the bridge? since from 1:39, 2:22, & 2:42, player view to chest is blocked, and from 3:00 the player didn't look left. other than that, the level design is amazing. :)
Is this a regular stock build of ALS V4? Like could it function like this out of the box off the Market, or did you enhance the mantling and other stuff? (I did notice you got the grappling hook in there, and idk if that comes with latest version of ALS or not).
Bro please I want to ask, how good are you with this asset cause I'm actually making a game with this template and I'm looking for assistance to make it a real game
The level is astonishing and I need a help from you , I'm also a game developer doing a game with this template but , I'm still figuring out the Chaotic events that happens by trigger boxs like the bridge cloapse , can you please help me with that .
Wow! Your Uncharted level inspired me to give it a try! Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a ton. I really loved what you did. It's on a whole other level!
Hi! Thanks! It's a gameplay controller based on ALS, but with added features. It is designed by Jakub W. on his Patreon. Here's the link for it : www.patreon.com/JakubW
Hi im a 3D designer, I work in Unreal Engine and i think i could help you with filling your game with detailed meshes (plants, everything you need). Anyway if your interested please let me now, love the game.
Given your name I'm gonna assume you speak french ^^ Je trouve deux soucis un peu globaux à ton level.
Feels inspiring. Hey creators using Free Unreal Engine, We need teaming artists, coders. Math tippers, sound artist, and worthy game ideas creator.lets quit 9-5 daytime jobs and start semiFreelancering. Crreate fun work to our life Games creating !!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I did my best ! Will keep honing my skills with each project. :)
@@felixantoinegosselin jakub's power :D
Now this is level design! Not those speed art videos... the pacing looks great!
Thank you so much! I feel the exact same way about the speed art videos ;)
thats so damn confusing, like theres just pieces of blocks there but it literally feels like a whole environment. i didnt know blockout mattered that lot, thank you!
literally the most important part if your gonna tell a story game, 🤦♂️
That use of a doubleback at 3:40 to show a new path was 👌🏻
As a big Uncharted fan, I can see the love and talent here. Thank you for sharing with us ❤
I love the textures, reminds me of CS:Source Aim maps back in the day :D
That's amazing. I watched the whole video and actually enjoyed the walkthrough.
Thanks for posting this publicly, it was really inspiring to watch!
This looks amazing. The climbing is extremely impressive

Pretty amazing..... Great Blocking work
Thought this was offical early alpha footage at first. So well made 😀
Fantastic work! Really Inspiring
Please tell me you have a job... If someone this talented doesn't have a job in games then I'm doomed. Love it!

Good level design work! Looks great!
This very well done. It makes me think I should just use ALS and get on with level design.
This is impressive. Loved, I really want learn do things like that 😍
2:19 made me think I had a meeting lmao
Don’t give up man. Never!
Really impressive work man i really appreciate your efforts and hard work !
Did you animate the character and enemies? This level is amazing!
Thank you so much! For the animations it is built in the advance locomotion system, which is a free asset from the Unreal Marketplace :) but this particular version is the Interaction with Advanced Locomotion System by Jakub W. available on his Patreon!
Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing. 💯
Animations looks very convincing ... i wonder how would it look with a proper detailed model... will there be any jank that will be shown with the final model or not.....
I'm starting game development but this is such an inspiring video. How long did it take for you to make this blockout?
Hello Félix-Antoine: can you tell me please where i can buy this "ALS by Jakub W." with all the Features (Climbing etc.)?
Hi there! You can find it on his Patreon here : www.patreon.com/JakubW
Wow, you've got everything in place for a triple A experience! Where did you get the animations? They look very nice!
Cool stuff! It looks fun to play. I like how it's easy and simple to navigate, objective is clear and there is still a feeling of exploration and discovery.

Thanks alot for the kind words! :) I'll probably do a level breakdown in the future for my portfolio so keep an eye out for that !
This is awesome, how would I go about getting a mannequin like the one used here? seems like a really great one to text out motion etc.

@@felixantoinegosselin Sure, thanks bro. And fortunately I already follow him :)
This is really inspiring, it made wonder, what method did you use to block out your environment, as well as textures?
I’ve been looking over RUclips tutorials and everyone seems to have a different way to do things.
To block out I just used Cubes and the Blockout Tools Plugin with Unreal to generate other shapes and made the majority of the environment like that !
pls make a part. 2 looks so nice

Thank you so much ! Really appreciate it. Put lots of work into it :)
I have a question. Did you make those custom grid textures?
Bro please I want to ask, how good are you with this asset cause I'm actually making a game with this template and I'm looking for assistance to make it a real game
1:33 the hook here was using cable component?
Its a custom blueprint. It was added as a feature in the newer IWALS versions from Jakub W.
J’adore, continues!
Really cool!
Nice blockout! Did you make all of these mechanics and animation stuff for this blockout?
This is awesome!
nice prototype.
