    Thanks for the tips! Also, love the clear guitar case. It's helpful to be able to see the inner workings of a guitar.

    That's it! I see a lot of people spreading the idea of "cigar box guitar is just what you want it to be", but in practice instead they keep stucked on the GDG. It's important to know and try some tradicional stuff, but even more important is to try to bring up criativity and further self opinion.
    Thnx for the video Mr Puckett!

      A Guy at Pike Place Market, Seattle builds preorders part's. Nothing handcrafted. It hit him up because I build guitar necks and custom Headstock's. When I talked to the guy that doesn't build shit, he said, on the phone, " Good luck with that". He sells, preordered Cigar Box Guitar bullshit, at Pike place market, Seattle for 450-650 a guitar that he didn't have a clue about how to make! What's up, freinds?

      Check out " Soul Cat" guitar's at Pike Place Market in Seattle. That guy is a tourist trap fraud! 450-650 for an" asian kit" cigar box guitar. My guitar necks and Headstock's are handmade. The Headstock's, that I make are inspired by the greatest guitarists and bass player's that ever picked a string. Fuckin, please!

    Hey Del, could you provide a little more info about why you prefer the ADG strings when tuning to EBE rather than the E, A, and D strings? Gonna go with EBE on the current build, just trying to understand the string selection. I assume your approach results in lower string tension than if I go with heavier strings, but are there other reasons you like the ADG strings?

    • @brickch4pel
      @brickch4pel 10 месяцев назад

      @@keithwilkinson5707 After a few months of using this tuning, I've noticed it makes major/minor chords and their respective sevenths easy to play. However, I initially considered AEBE due to having two full rows of single-finger bar power chords, plus one extra row that uses a normal power chord shape.

    Del, you had me at each reason. I wish I had used EBE tuning when I first started this crazy hobby. Now I have to erase everything in my mind and re-tune my CBG's. Well, I may leave a couple at GDG.

    if im playing by myself i just tune the the low string as low as i can and still sound good . then keep 1 5 1 tuning. so far sounds good if i fallow ebe tabs or gdg tabs. as long as its 1 5 1 it works. and also keeping it tuned low it keeps the neck from bowing so quick. since i have no truss rod

    I'm really curious about that screw you've got above the last fret. Are those two screw eyes you've got holding it in? What's the purpose of that? I've got a cbg that only has that last fret, and I keep thinking I need something between the last fret and the tuning pegs.

    • @PuckettCigarBoxGuitar
      @PuckettCigarBoxGuitar  Год назад

      it keeps downward tension on the zero fret… which keeps the strings in place when you bend AND increases the sustain overall. a must have in my opinion unless you have a scarf joint then not necessarily necessary 😎
