tip for anyone struggling for the longest time i wondered why i couldn't do my toe touch, i had been working on it for so long. who knew it was because of one little mistake? my knees were pointed/facing forward, when they should've been pointed toward the ceiling. you legs cant go that high when facing forward. hope this helped 💖
I got cheer tryouts may 10-13th. Im a freshman and haven't done cheer since I was 6. I hope I get on the team. Wish me luck y'all, thanks. I will update the results. P.S. if u got any advice please tell me. Thank you Update: ok so guys I didn't make it. But I'm ok with that. I feel like next year I will make it because of what I now know. If your thinking about trying out for cheerleading, I'll say go for it. It's a amazing experience. Plus it's ok if you don't make it at first. Use what you learned for the next time you tryout.☺
YOOOO THANK YOU MY DUDE I've been doing Competitive cheer for a few years now and one leg was always higher than the other now my jumps look way better!
Made varsity my junior year because of you! Now I’m back because I’ve been cutting myself some slack because I made it, time to work on my jumps again and get back in shape 💪🏻

My toe touch is currently looking like a star jump and i’m really trying to get hyper extended jumps! I am new to cheer so i am really trying to get better jumps so in the future, it could help me if i ever do all star cheer! Gonna try this for a month! Day 1: I got through the stretching part pretty easily, but when i got to the strength part, i was taking many breaks because it was kinda hard. I also didn’t do the last part because i am in a small room and i didn’t have enough room for my legs. It’s okay though! First days are always rough! I’m sure tomorrow will go better! Day 2: it was wayyy better than yesterday. I still took a couple breaks in the strengthening part but i was easier than yesterday. The last one always get me tho. I do around 15 of them. But i have a feeling this is gonna work! Day 3: it was good today. Although when i was doing the strengthening one my leg kind of cramped. And omg this whole time i was doing the last workout wrong! I forgot to suck in my stomach!! I ended up doing 5 with my stomach sucked in, but its okay. Day 4: it was okay today. My leg started cramping so i was taking it slow so it might not of been as good as yesterday. Its okay tho! My jumps have improved a little since day 1! Day 5: good. It was pretty easy today actually. I feel pretty confident that i’m gonna get it hyperextended by a month!! Day 6: done! Day 7: done! I only did 10 of the last ones today. Day 8: woohooo! Its been a week! Day 9: done Day 10: done Day 11: done but i only did the stretching part today because i didn’t have time to do the other part Im gonna be stopping this workout for a bit of time just because i am gonna be focusing more on tumbling right now instead of jumps. When i decide that I actually want to do cheer and start getting ready for teams, i will do this workout again. Although, my toe touch has improved so much from this!! Thank you so much!!
this is actually helping me sm. ive cheered for 2 years in middle school but our high school team is crazy good and I’m trying out so fingers crossed!!
tomorrow I'm gonna start doing this everyday for a week to see how much I improve🤞🤞🤞 Day 1: ✅️ maybe saw a little improvement but not much. I love this routine thoo Day 2: ✅️ my legs have to get use to the routine, so no improvement because they are sore. still fully did the routine tho! Day 3: ✅️My legs were a little sore today but not as bad. The routine is getting slightly easier, and I feel it working. I saw a little bit of improvement in my toe touch Day 4: ✅️ my legs weren't sore today, so after I did the routine I saw a little more improvement! Hopefully I won't be sore anymore so over the next 3 days I see more improvement Day 5: ✅️ one problem I have is my right leg goes higher than my left leg so I have to work on that, but I see improvement! Day 6: ✅️ hip cramps on the leg circles hurt today lol. But I finished the routine and my toe touch has definitely improved Day 7:✅️ the week is over!! I definitely saw improvement today. Over the week I have seen improvement. However. I have been doing my jumps on plain floor in my house, i just have my yoga mat over my hardwood floor lmao. I think I am going to a cheer gym later this week, where there is a spring floor so I'll see how they look on there! I will be continuing this routine for another week, I'll update on day 14, not everyday though!!
@Amaya Grace I have been doing it, and it has been helping, though i may have skipped a couple of days. However, I feel I need more of a challenge so now I am changing up my routine, but I would recommend!!
Updating !! Recently Tryed out for cheer and only got in because they were taking everyone who tryed out, was really embarrassing when i couldn’t bring my leg up and i’m so not flexible. i lay in bed all day. DAY 1: Saw improvement almost immediately , definitely not a good toe touch yet tho , my legs still bend but my hamstrings feel really good

Im going to try doing this once a day so here's my progress: 1:18 Day 1: These are stretches that i usually have to do at practice so it wasn't too bad until the end because i wasn't used to doing the kicks on normal floor. Day 2: I felt a bit more flexible but not a super big difference yet. I haven't done my toe touch yet to see its better because if i did it in my house it would be very loud so ill let you guys know in two days when i have practice if its better now. Day 3: Day three was good. Im very unmotivated but i still did it. If anyone reading this doesn't have motivation, just know you can do it and to be patient. I'm starting to feel a bit more flexible. Day 4: Skipped because i had a very long practice but i can tell my jumps are getting better Day 5: Skipped again because of a long practice Day 6: I did it today. It was kind of uncomfortable because i hadn't done it in two days but by the middle it wasn't as bad anymore. Day 7: Skipped Day 8: skipped Day 9: skipped Day 10: Did it today Day 11; Day 12: Day 13:
Emmy please reply to this. I love doing cheer I just started a club and am learning basic moves. I started on Friday and my legs and all of my joints hurt cause I did it for about 1 hour and a half. But by my birthday the 21st I'm hoping to have a toe touch. Thanks Emmy for all of your help. It really helps me improve. Also, in a year I will join a real cheer team and do tryouts. But I have no experience in dance, gymnastics and cheer. But I was born with cerebral-palsy but its a lot better. But it also kept me flexible! Thanks Again. Also I'm in the 6th grade so in 7th I will try!🍎 Got to eat healthy too!
I have tryouts in a little over a month and have most of the tumbling to make the team I’m aiming for but have never don’t jumps and stunts and things! With your jump videos and a few videos for grips I found on RUclips I hope to make it!
Tryouts are sometime in March, im gonna mark my progress til then. beginning of November: just starting to work on jumps, very nervous as i keep my goal of making the comp team in mind.
This video is already helping I’ve been doing this for 4 days twice a day and I haven’t done my jumps in 2 years and I’m trying to get them back and they are already better than they were
I have cheer tryouts in 2 days! I have never cheered on a team or done gymnastics before. I hardly have my cartwheel but I am extremely smiley and can remember things quickly. I have pretty good jumps but am lacking in other areas. I'll update!
Have u been trying out toe touches for years or have u barley started. I have tryouts in 8 days but i dont know if its enough time to learn my toe touches for the first time
I don’t comment much, but I just want to say, this video helped me so much! I have been doing this since about October and toe touch has improved so much! It went from an awful star jump, to a pretty good toe touch! I am currently doing clinic for tryouts, and have tryouts on Friday. It is currently Tuesday. I’ll let you know how it goes! 🤪
I have tryouts on May 24-26 I’m about to be a freshman and I’ve never had cheer experience before and I’m really scared and nervous for it it’s in about a week and I’ve tried to stretch as much as I can I’m going to be doing this video at least once a day I’ll keep you all updated on how my tryouts go wish me luck because I’m going to need it 🥰😊
Make sure your motions are tight because even if you don’t have cheer experience like stunting or tumbling you should be well rounded in the other qualities in a routine
thank you so much im gonna do this every day until cheer tryouts in april i made the team sophomore year but this year they didn’t accept me so im trying really hard to get my jumps looking really good bc i miss cheer
Thanks this really helped, All i need to learn is how to keep your legs straight during a toe touch and how to keep ur arms in a T positon and how to land and improve my toe touch getting higher
Never a cheerleader, much much older than you, but will be repeating some of those movements. Good strengthening and stretching I haven't done before. Thanks!
I am a gymnast and these drills were so hard. I am a freshman next year and really want to join cheer so perhaps improving my toe touch will improve my chances❤
Tryouts in 2 weeks!!! I have decent toe touches but my high school squad is like really good. Like nations every year good. Soooooo I will be trying to perfect them! I’ll update if I made it!!
Awesome video! Thank you for the great tips!!!! Also appreciate how you explained what body part each stretch was working on and how you didn’t go too fast! REALLY GREAT JOB!
This I hope will help my toe touch before Jersey on sunday! My jumps are the downfall for me so are tumbling rn I'm trying to get my front walkover and ack handspring
@Pandalillyi Tryouts actually finished up today! I made it!!! If you are thinking about trying out GO FOR IT!! Even if you don’t make the team even tryouts is super fun
I have cheer tryouts tomorrow and I have to do a tie touch but I haven’t EVER been able to do one! I can jump SOOO much higher after this! Thank you!!!
I'm joining my highschools cheer team with no experience and no acrobatic experience. Im gonna use this vidoe in hopes that it'll help me prep for tryouts! (Also working on acrobatics as well) update when I reach tryouts
good luck!!! i go back to practice the day u have tryouts and i’m here to work on my jumps since we have to perform our jumps on thursday! we got this together!
my coach planned a formation that involves me doing a toe touch but she planned it because of a dream she had and i can’t actually do a toe touch so ima be doing this 3 times a day every day (it has to be good in a week) day 1: i mean i definitely felt better doing it but i mean it’s the first day so i haven’t really let it sink in but this seems like it will really help
I’ve been a cheerleader for 1 month :’) my coach told me to “get my act together” because I’m the only one who stinks at the toe touch so I’m trying my best
@@ArtisticAlly123 coaches are like that often but it’s tough love :’) keep stretching and practicing, your toe touch will be hyperextended before you know it!

Day 4: Skipped because i had a very long practice but i can tell my jumps are getting better
Day 5: Skipped again because of a long practice
Day 6: I did it today. It was kind of uncomfortable because i hadn't done it in two days but by the middle it wasn't as bad anymore.
Day 7: Skipped
Day 8: skipped
Day 9: skipped
Day 10: Did it today

@@nadia-yx6re Thank you
advice from a cheerleader this is very helpful. I recommend this video to anyone who needs better toe touches my coach did some of the same exercises
Thank you soooo much for this video;I practiced for 11 days and I got a perfect toe touch!!!!!🙂😀😃😄😊

@@yasminabarron8667 I mean, I definitely wouldn't count on it. It takes time, and everyone flexibility is different. Takes some people years.
trying out for cheer in thursday!

Make sure your motions are tight because even if you don’t have cheer experience like stunting or tumbling you should be well rounded in the other qualities in a routine
