Howdy you two I just finished up watching all your videos on the youtube ... we are in the process of getting our animals (1 dog 1 cat) ready for travel by taking them on a few hour drive every chance we get ... we live in Idaho and have to make a trip to Oregon every once in awhile (know what I mean know what I mean nug nug wink wink) and they are doing a fantastic job ... I do so enjoy you humor and a song ... what a great combination ... be careful out there and take care of each other. Larry
That's a VERY smart way to get your animals used to those inevitable long travel days; just throw them in the car and go on a fun ride! Love that! Our two also love the change in scenery and the "goin's on" in the campground. Glad you are advocating kennels for safety. Have heard and dealt with others' horror stories of lost cats at gas stations, truck stops and rest areas. 😻😻
Oh my gosh I haven't heard of any horror stories, but I can imagine that they happen often. That's exactly right; I would hate for them to get out at a stop! I also wouldn't leave them in the RV because it seems very... 'jarring' in there when traveling, to say the least! Say hello to your kitties for me!! :D
@@itsme.rainilee we spent months tracking down a cat that got out during a fuel stop at a Maryland service area. Good mews...we ended up finding a cat that look eerily similar to the lost cat (Izzy), found a home for her and called her Fizzy (for fake Izzy). Izzy was found about 20 miles away. She showed up to a feral colony and the caretaker was able to catch her. Through the magic of FB and the crazy cat lady network, we were able to reunite Izzy with her owner.
Great video! We're going to do this with 6 cats. Yup.. we're crazy.. but can't bear to part with any of them. They'll have fun. We'll have 3-4 different cages set up along the outside of the RV. Some hanging off the RV top rail area and a larger screened tent on the ground with a cat tree in it. It will have a screened tunnel from one of the RV windows so they can come and go when they want. Of course the floor of the screened tent will be enclosed. I have a thin rug we use in our living room that will lay in it so they don't scratch through the tent floor liner. Great stuff! Oh my goodness I want to see this cat cage setup!! We've seen all kinds of creative ways that people set up outdoor fun areas for their cats; this sounds AMAZING! I bet your 6 cats will LOVE it!!
@@itsme.rainilee Since I commented on your video, my husband has passed away. (Feb 8, 2023). It's overwhelming the work I have now and I'm feeling so lost without him. But I am going to continue on. I bought my RV Class C 28' back in early April of this year. I am now pulling carpet and painting inside. I still plan on taking my 6 cats with me. I am surprised in all the video's I have I think I only have one that has an outside cage for their cat. I know my cats would scatter if I left a door open. Can't do that. So I will be setting up a screened tent for them. I'll keep you posted when I get this done.

Great video! Me and my husband and my 13-year-old are thinking about adopting a cat and we just started full-time RV living. We’re currently in a fifth wheel in the litter box and where to put it has been a big concern for me and also the cat not scratching at my couches!
The litter box can be tricky in the small spaces but there are certainly options!! As for the scratching... we definitely encourage our cats to scratch other places by buying several different scratch posts (one is a stand-up style made with rope, the other is on the floor next to our bed and it is made out of cardboard) and that seems to help! We also purchased a chair that is "velvet" and the cats haven't scratched that material at all! GOOD LUCK with adopting your adventure kitty; it's totally doable in an RV!
I have 4 cats in my 29 foot trailer we were in a 6 bedroom two story house before this. My two older cats have lived in a 5th wheel for a few years before so they most likely got used to it right away. The two girls cats which are newer to the cat fam don't seem to mind it. I just open all the blinds every morning for light and so they can look at the window. my bathroom is too small for my two big litter boxes so they fit really nice right under the bottom bunk in the back of my camper. And like she said I have to sweep cat litter up daily I also change the boxes once a day and sometimes at night as well. I also have a small Pomeranian dog which is about the size of my cats so I may as well have 5 cats..lol they all seem to like it I turned the bottom bunk into a cat area they have a big carpet with a rubber mat on top for their water and food bowls and a few cat beds although they pretty much lay wherever they want
That sounds AMAZING! Haha we have 2 little dogs as well so sometimes it feels like we have 4 cats, too! Hahaha. I think that's great that you were able to bring the whole gang along on the adventures!! So cool to hear how people make it work with their pets; thank you for sharing that!

My kitty also likes to use the bathroom at the same time! We set a box next to the toilet, because we tried a couple different litter box locations before but you cannot beat having it in the bathroom. Great video 🐾

And I like that Chewy was in the backdrop being such an adorable little rascal! The older dudes who told you that Chewy was probably eaten by a coyote were totally mean and that made me cry a little…The highlight of this video was of course the litter box. That is so precious that they can do their business right next to you. I think it was the great Abraham Lincoln that first said “the family that poops together boops together” so you may want to give him credit to prevent copyright infringement issues. Ok, one question, if RVing full time, how do you keep the cats from gaining too much weight since they don’t have the room to get around and keep fit? Moving from a large home with two stories to a home half the size, our cat, now 14 gained a good bit of weight.
We actually walk Chewy on a leash (and play with him often) and he does do zoomies around constantly. Padme, on the other hand, has gained a bit... but she also is in her senior years, now, and never really exercised before.
#fellowcrazycatpeople No RV yet but when I get one, I intend to take my 2 old boys, and possibly a young female stray that seems to have adopted me while I was staying at my mother's. ... You bring a cat in from the cold and next thing you know.... "Hey honey, I think we just got another cat." 😁 🐈 .... P. S. She may be pregnant. 😂

Just found your site. We traveled with 3 cats. We have a cat tent with tunnels We connect to a storage door that is linked to the inside of the rv.
