I really had to dust off this old account to send this comment: I found this channel 3 days ago, I'm loving your DAOD content.
There are a two things that I think about after rewatching the eight episodes: the scene with the person (I assume is female, based on the hand) watching Anna and Leila with a hidden camera, the painting suggests it's Teddy Goh or Agent Hilde Eriksen (the Newton's cradle is leaning me to Eriksen); also the scene with Leila browsing the server, I looked for the 'dog that didn't bark' (the system isn't perfect since it doesn't show past MEADOWS) but the biggest 'suspects' are accounted for (except Imogene Scott, Kira Scott and Nora Scott obviously; also Father Toby and Derek are Briggs and are on the folder by the way); but back on the dog that didn't bark, I realize there 2 Chuns on the server but they're at least 3 Chuns on the boat (the male tending to the Senator before her death is a Chun and those at his table laughing at Llewellyn should be Chuns)
Now about my ranking on who is Viktor Sams from most satisfactory from my and others theories (M are mine, O are others):
1. Elenor's mom, Celia's daughter (M); the backstory, Celia mentioning bitterness and I think she got as much screentime as the murderer in 'See How They Run' (I'm kidding a little bit)
2. All of the Chuns or just Celia Chun (O/M); the backstory, Doctor Chun could know some things about poisons
3. Dr. Mark (O); reddit had a cool and compelling post about him (Leila's therapist), the bald eagle he mentions and the sculpture behind him, not looking for it tho
4. Those who were in Jules' Photo (O); seems fun
5. Danny or his Twin (O); see 4's notes
6. Agent Hilde Eriksen (O/M); see 4's notes
7. Teddy Goh (M); her confession of why she's a domme, and when she left Leila hacking the server was an opportunity to shut things down her talks with Winnie could be a rouse since Jules was in earshot
8. Tripp/Lawerence (O); Viktor Sams and Tripp are into tech so he could be VS since the Sunil became a sailor, also the conversation they had about the senator
9. Llewellyn Mathers (O); the writers would have to bring the goods otherwise this would be so lackluster
10. Father Toby Briggs/Sunil/Leila (O); see 9's notes
11. Rufus/Imogene (O); based on the synopsis of episode 10 this is unlikely
A question I would like ask since we are in the age of the internet: do you think they are certain tropes a show like DAOD can stop like the murderer has to be a person with a lot of screentime.

If they want a season 2, I don't think they would make Rufus the killer. I think it would be him and Imogene as a team working on the next case.
True true I think they’d want the detective legacy to continue with him if they can get things to a season 2
Unless they just want Imogene to be the main detective going forward
I initially thought this was the angle too - BUT - I've also been thinking about whether Mandy Patinkin would sign up for mutliple years of this kind of show (he's kinda notoriously difficult to retain for extended periods for ongoing series) - and wondering if they will take a page from Only Murders in the Building and have a 'new big star' each season - the most logical premise is that Rufus and Imogene team up, but I am not married to it
I think trip is viktor back in episode 1 Layla tossed Danny’s phone in the ice bucket and trip took it out and had a good look at it. Plus all that nose sniffing seems excessive as if he’s faking having a problem. Also the one you suspect the least is always the guy.

I think colliers hired Victor sams to kill kira... But then things got out of their hand..... & Victor Sams began to blackmail those were rich & corrupt....i also believe there are multiple people responsible for murders....

Also why did that lighter look like the lighter Danny used to light his cigar when Imogene confronted him.
