Unrelated to the video but i always had this theory (headcanon of course) about the G-man preventing Shephard to get to Gordon because he knew he would be the one soldier to actually kill him and that's why when Adrian want's to follow Freeman to Xen the G-man "nudge" the event to make Shephard create a paradox and fall to the void. Later the G-man "preserves" Adrian and hire Freeman then it comes the theory about Shepard being a "fail safe" in case Gordon disobeys which actually happens in Ep1 but by Ep2 (and later HLA) the G-man hires Alyx to replace Gordon so Shephard remains "detained".
You know, these kinds of videos are why I learned some speed running tricks, for the sake of mitigating the death toll. Every human life helps, especially post-ST
They really didnt know that they where escaping just in time before the nuke exploded sooo that means that they where some of the survivors but they maybe died when The Combine came or some of them problably survived the 7 hours war and maybe became some of the rebels from HL2
