      Thanks Ben. That’s an amazing suggestion. I might just make it my next video as other people might be interested as well. It’s difficult to manage it all as you get busier and have more and more opportunities.

    Hello Hararvey! Great video as always :). That rushing thing totally got me, I did it last year, and as you said it didn't work out. So, I thought that this year I'd slow down and go deeply into every shot, and this video is proof that at least I was thinking right! :D

      Super glad that you got to that conclusion yourself Akash. In this industry slow and steady really take you much further than trying to rush through things. Wishing you the best in your animation journey.

      Hey Siba. I’ve made quite a few videos about that already. If you search for those terms or top books to read you’ll find plenty to start with.

    I needed this message, Thanks! For someone like me, trying to focus on character and first-person animation for games, I find it overwhelming to create a quality reel, primarily because I’m still new (Year two). What would you recommend to compose a healthy balance between the two?

    • @harveynewman
      @harveynewman  Год назад +1

      Hey Dejay, thanks for the great comment and I’m glad it helped.
      So if you asking about the balance between first person and third person. Third person is always in more demand as first person is a very specific role and you have to be incredible detailed and specific with your camera and character. So it really is about what you are passionate about and want to work on for years to come. Decide that and then focus on making the best showreel possible around that. When hiring we want to see great work but also passion. We hired many animatiors that showed passion for first person anim to work on Battlefied but then helped them achieve the level of polished desired in a AAA game. I hope this helps.

    Hi Harvey. thanks for the video) i have a youtube channel and it's getting good reviews. but it's not in english. lately i've been thinking of trying to record videos in english, but it's not my native language and there will be mistakes with pronunciation and words. do you think it's worth a try or is it doomed to fail?)

    • @harveynewman
      @harveynewman  Год назад +1

      Ah yes definitely worth it. People don’t care so much about clean English it’s all about the message and how useful/valuable it is for the audience. If they connect they’ll subscribe :) I hope it helps.
