Your parents aren't wrong! Here's a reality check, I went to a 4 year University and out of the 30 people who were in my 3D animation class which was about 40 students, only 3 still work on side projects but haven't made it in the industry including myself. We all graduated and I still work at a restaurant, Others work at retail stores while were trying to break in the industry. Everyone wants to be an animator but very little to none make it in the industry or decide to pursue a different career. It's great to have hope and not give up, but its also great to be real about the situation and what it's like after graduating with a Computer Animation Degree.

To everyone reading this what Tangent Cowboy just mentioned It’s 100% right... 95% of the time. There’s also the idea that many people don’t realise just how hard the animation craft is to master. So the amount of dedication, obsessing and hard work can overwhelm most. But please do preserver...if you make it you are in for a career that will last you a lifetime.
I want to become an animator, and my whole family and friends support me, but I’m scared of myself. There are many factors that scare me about being an animator, but at this point I think I’ll just take the risk to do the job that I like. (I’m on my last year of high school)
Same, I’m a senior in highschool and I want to go into animation but I doubt myself all the time and don’t feel like I don’t have what it takes to make it into a career
My dream is to work at Pixar. I heard that to get a spot at Pixar is to work really hard and have talent, since i’m twelve now i have a lot of time to improve ❤️
Mine to! This goes for computer programming to anything I create I love it when I see it work!!!! Computer programming and drawing and animation are my love but my shitty at them 😂
I just want to add onto the ego part. If you want to be confident in yourself, you have to accept yourself. Whether you win or totally fail, you have to tell yourself that you accept the fact that you are who you are with these ups and downs and as long as you can accept that and show yourself kindness instead of shame, you'll have great confidence in yourself, because at the end of the day, no matter how many rejections you face, at least you are there to accept you and love yourself.
the burnout is real, i can say, was super excited when i first got hired and became and animator but eventually you keep doing the same thing over and over and over especially if you dont work for a studio. there was a time i didnt learn anything new for about 5 months, only thing that keeps me going is personal projects that forces me to adopt new techniques or plugs in/scripts. And of course i do those personal projects in my spare time, off hours.
I am 13 and i started animating when i was 11,i always thought the fact that i will never improve easing and anticipating but when I am 13 i somehow improved.my age may be young but i still make animations as a hobby.
When I was your age we didn´t have the information u have now days. I remember being totally lost, going to libraries trying to find books about animation and there where none!!! You´re lucky kiddo
you only have one life. if this is your dream, then pursue it. I wouldn’t want to live with regrets, and i know if i dont pursue a career in art i wouldn’t be happy. Its a hard risk to take, but in the long run doing something you love everyday with some hard work to get there is so worth it
I know this video has been around for a while, however, I just wanted to express my gratitude for it. Being an animator can be quite challenging, and even though I love my job, it's easy to feel frustrated, especially when you feel like you're not improving after doing the same thing over and over again. I'm currently going through one of those moments where you hit rock bottom and feel like you're not worth anything, so I wanted to say thank you because in some way, this video helped my motivation to keep growing and get out of my comfort zone. Thanks, man!
Hey Juan. Man thanks a million for the heartfelt comment. It’s highly appreciated as I know how much of a struggle it is sometimes but if you power through it you’ll end up a much more fulfilled animator. Keep strong and super happy that my video helped you through your journey.
I decided to tackle the reality behind being a professional animator, for all those aspiring animators and people just getting started. Would be great to know what you guys think about the subjects above. Drop a comment and let me know if you agree or disagree, and hope some of it rings true with you.
I've been a TV animator for a number of years, and it's nice to hear someone with such a positive attitude toward the job/craft :) I agree with all your points, and being reminded of the good things you talked about here has bolstered my own attitude - no disrespect to my coworkers but sometimes I only hear them talking about the negatives, so this was a nice breath of fresh air, thank you!
Thanks a lot for the great comment. And I know exactly what you mean. This industry does that to most, but I find that the ones that keep strong and inspired through the years end up having the most fun. ;) Keep in touch
@@isaiahnorwood9529 In my opinion a degree is not necessary, only a strong portfolio, and a portfolio is easier to make if you go to a school with a program specifically for animation. Some animation programs can be 12 months, 2 years, or even 4 years with a degree. I've also seen some robust curriculums online, like from Aaron Blaise or Toniko Pontoja, for a fraction of the price, if you are very self motivated. A counterpoint argument I have heard recently is that a degree can make it easier to move for work to different countries. Hope that gives some food for thought!
I just started learning 3D animation and am going to Academy of Art for it this summer fresh out of high school. I'm terrified that I won't succeed, or that I won't make it. But sometimes you have to trust yourself, and trust your dream. My dream is to animate films or television programs that encourage healthy child development. It's so important that kids are learning about how to cope with their emotions and find themselves. In any case, thank you so much. It really helps listening to the professionals as a newbie.
That’s an incredibly noble job and I wish you the very best. It’s always a leap of faith until you succeed, so keep working hard and consistently and I’m sure you’ll get there Desirae. Thanks for watching.
I’m in my last year in high school. I’ve always been interested in the idea of animating, making stories, world building and such. I didn’t know if I wanted to be an animator or do something that involves creative game design,..until I learned that some animation careers can actually cover both- the college classes I went through look amazing and I’m excited to learn. However I am scared of failing or not being hired for work. Otherwise it seems like a fun career
Honestly going through the same thing right now. Although in my second year of high school, not last. It comforts me to know that we are not alone in our unsureness.
This really changed my mindset because I do worry sometimes of my skills or if I'm falling behind. I'm currently majoring in Computer animation and game arts so this video really helped stay motivated. Thanks!
Internet is a place of endless knowledge, try learning any animation software Online and make something in your free time that'll make you happy. It's not like you can't Animate because you are a Medical Student.
That's the same problem I've been stuck in since the 8th grade. I've been kind of stressing since then to know what I'll major in after graduating high. I'm currnetly in the 11th grade and I have about a year left and the sooner that year comes to an end the more I stress on what to choose to major in when I graduate :( I like drawing, love watching anime, and I tend visualize my surroundings quite a bit (like when im outside I always tend to stare at the sky and the clouds or when im in a building i visulize my surrondings)
Kage 1110 oh my god, I’m in the same boat rn. I’m currently on the path for nursing, but I have a huge artistic flare and am struggling to be fully set on a single major. I know I can thrive in the medical field, and I have yet to try animation yet, but I have always been fascinated by commercials and CGI used in movies and games. I love art so much, and I honestly wouldn’t mind if it was my job, but I’m too scared to switch majors because I don’t know enough about animation as a job yet.
Thank u very much i work as animator for 8 years now and i was starting to feel confuse about my career and how hard it is but ur video helped me a lot to make a better decisions and i felt a little relief .
Hey Samaneh. Great comment. Thanks so much for letting me know and I am glad that my video made a difference in your career. I completely understand the sense of frustration sometimes. Animation ain’t easy. So glad to see so many people connecting with it. Keep in touch any questions let me know.
I have always loved animation. I graduated from an art school specializing in Animation in 2017 but have had the greatest struggle in trying to get a single job. The work I do to make a living has nothing to with animation and I have to try and do my animation work in my free time. It has been a difficult road which lead to Depression and Writer's Block which has lasted over a year. I had to have therapy actually to help cope with all the realities for me being an animator in the real world. The block is slowing losing its grip and I've been getting my creative rhythm back. Finding videos like this are really the jolt of inspiration I need to keep trying to break through that ceiling of impossibility. Thanks for this video Harvey, it means more than you know!!👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Hey Carl. Thanks a million for the kind words and sorry to hear about the low points in your journey. But keep your head up and keep strong man. This will all make you a more resilient animator when you accomplish that dream. Thanks for watching and keep in touch.
Love the honest take on being an Animator. I don’t want to animate for others. Just for my stream & maybe some small projects on RUclips. Thanks for the boost of inspiration. :)
Art has been a big part of my life and I always wanted to give life to my art and that's why I fell in love with animation . my family also fully support me. I been trying to self-study as my county don't really have much recognition for animation and stuff so it has been a rough path but I hope to achieve my dreams and goals someday. thanks a lot for the video as well❤❤❤ this have given me the idea of which path to choose and I will continue to improve my skills. thanks a lot again!!!❤❤
I’m stuck between being an animator and a programmer! Edit: well, 11 months later! I still want to be an animator but I don’t want to be a programmer. But then again I also want to work with physiology and detective work
As much as I would like to agree, as that’s the way it should be. That is not always the case. In many situations you are seen as a cog in a big machine so even if your work excels it’s still seen as “you are just doing what they paid you to do” no recognition given.
Most creative and art based fields don't require degrees and it is recommended by most to go for online classes, as the employers are 90% focused on your demo real and the other 10% is how well you work with others and your overall social skills
I want to become an animator and just surround myself with good, fun people while making people happy. It may be hard but its something I've always loved. Thank you for this video, I wanted to find out more about the options I have.
That’s the right attitude! And most of us that made it into the industry started with the same belief. So I’m sure you’ll do fine. Best of luck in your animation journey.
I'm kinda afraid of pursuing an animation career.. I just finished high school, and I really don't know If I should pursue a creative job or stick to a """normal""" one. I'm just... Afraid. What If I don't make it and don't find a job? That would be so stressfull.
I'm stuck in the same boat. I love creative stuff like illustration and animation, but I'm afraid at where I'd end up. Another path for me is a more normal path, that being sports/physiology. I like it, but my passion for that isn't as strong like it is for art.
@@Prime_Legend i am currently in year 10, i was thinking the same as both of you but now i am definitely trying to set my goal for animation or something creative like that. Take the opportunity before it’s too late! You’ll regret it in the future if you don’t :)
I have been a game animator for a long time now. Originally film animation. While games is more technical, the great part is you can generally SEE players enjoy your art. Not Hoping they liked the movie. I like collaborating with other disciplines too: designers, engineers, art etc. makes you feel a little more important.
i was really confused whether i should just drop my animator career and choose another one. But why choose a job that i dont enjoy than a one that im passionate about. Thank you for making realise that being an animator is hard but that shouldnt stop you from pursuing it. Theres always a challenge in everything and to overcome it, you need to work really hard. The award is not just going to appear infront of you.
Thank you for making this video. I didn't know how much I needed to hear these pieces of advice! I love how you can turn the woes and worries of animators into actual fun challenges to use to improve ourselves. It really is about how we frame it, and now I feel a lot more motivated to become an animator! And it also works in a lot of other aspects of life. So thank you for that
Thank you for the kind words Viviane. Yeah it’s all a matter of perspective, in animation and in life. Glad the video helped you in your journey, any questions feel free to ask away and keep in touch.
Honestly, my dream is to become a full time animator and airing a show that shows the reality of this world and trying to overcome it + add some things like lgbtq+ or certain actions that are wrong (racism, toxic families/friends, etc.) But my family is concerned and say i should go for something in the medical field and just do that on the side but i want to be a full time animator. My dad always told me that it is always about the money though, at this point I think it's about what makes your happy and enjoy what you have. I know that its going to be a tough journey but i think you can still win the battle
im always against working without passion into it. never force your self to work. let your passion push you to work harder. its almost impossible to succeed if you dont have the passion. find that passion first.
thank you for this, i am currently studdying VFX and im always in fear of falling behind but i really just want to do the best i can and find a studio to work for. thanks for this video it was very encouraging
Hey Haynie. Welcome to the channel, and most welcome. Glad it helped. I can relate to that felling quite a bit, eventually it goes way when you make it and realize that we all go through it. ;) Keep strong.
I would like to know the reasons for many animators going to many studios through their careers. I have seen many animators leaving studios like Disney and Pixar, that many people consider dream jobs. I wonder if most of them do it for economical reasons, creative reasons or just looking for a new challenge.
Sup Lenin. Ummm difficult to say really. People leave for different reasons, sometimes your personal situation changes, you need a new challenge or you get offered something more appealing. It's a small industry with plenty of opportunities, so people have the tendency to move around.
I took 3d animation in highschool and found it to be my most challenging and rewarding class of my highschool career. I don't want to go to college and fall into debt, but I don't have a pc to run a proper animation program and learn online
ever since I was a kid I'm always amazed by those moving pictures. I keep asking my parents on how those pictures moved. I start studying and I found out that I love to draw. I love watching things from nothing into life because animators are really great they're not just drawing what they want but they give lives to those imaginations and feelings in their mind I DON'T SEE ANY INTEREST IN OTHER COURSE BUT I REALLY WANT TO BECOME AN ANIMATOR PS: SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH
I’m 14, my dream is to become a 3D animator, it’s my only dream forever and yes I know that animators will never get noticed besides their family, but I have already accepted that. I wanna do animation for the fun. I feel like it will be the most fun career. Always can be frustrating but I will not give up on my dream.
I start school tomorrow... this has put a great mindset for me starting out... thank you so much for making this video. I can’t wait to hear more of your stuff!
I have been an animator for a year now, but however, though my animations are good, I don’t feel like they are good enough so I end up in this cycle of demotivation
Hey Reyl...I've been there, but if you keep on working on new animations and improving your skills sooner or later someone will give you a chance. It took me nearly 4 years to get there and a lot of fails attempts and negative answers.
I am glad I saw this video. Cause I was wondering wether or not I wanted to keep pursuing animation and art, as I’m becoming less confident with my animations, cause despite the fact I’ve been doing animations for a year now, I still feel like my animations are still the same even after 5 months, maybe it’s because I didn’t study animation much or I’m just too lazy to keep a consistent way of animating. And only recently did I realise I shouldn’t push my self too hard (I keep making big projects for for no reason), and it’s making me burnt out. This video helped me get my confidence back for animation, and thank you :>. Also.. to the people reading this. When you have fun animating or doing something, you enjoy the process, and you will feel pleasure and satisfaction from doing it. Anyways. Have a nice day and I wish you good luck on your animation journey.
Thanks a million for the great comment Raiya. And I'm glad this video has helped you in your journey, I really am. This animation career is most likely the biggest marathon you'll have to endure so as you mentioned enjoying it and being in the moment instead of living in the future is absolutely the way to go. After all, this career will last you a lifetime so why rush. Wishing you all the very best in your animation journey and stay in touch
Hey. Loving your video and the things you talk say about the reality of an animator. I know it's hard to be good at animation, and drawing. I get that. I'm struggling right now to what I wanna do. I'm 18, in a community college, and I trying to be good at drawing and somewhat do animation in the future with some 3D modeling too. It's getting hard right now since my drawing skill suck and I only have my Laptop to do some basic modeling, but can't do any major renders. I want to be an animator and a 3D artist too. There are so many doubts in my mind that have been pushing me down and I don't know how long I can do it. Honestly, I'm not really good at math, somewhat decent in science, and other subjects I just lose interests, but with drawing and animation from other people, it's amazing and cool. I want to do what, I really do, but I've never had a dream about animating and modeling or anything really. Since I was young I've never taken an interest. I'm slowing losing my mind and frightened that I might not do anything in the future. I am afraid. Sorry for the long comment. I'm afraid that it might be too late for me to learn drawing, animating, and 3D modeling. I just hope I can change how I am. I really do.
Fundamentally drawing is the basis of Animation, so if you love drawing keep going until you are ready to take the plunge into Animation. Ultimately is up to you to believe in your dream and making it happen, so keep strong, things will happen as long as you persevere and work hard.
3:41 is actually one of the reasons I want to be animator. I want to share my art with the world, but I'm introverted and don’t like excessive attention. Lol 😅
Proud moment is when you can see yourself or your friends names in the credits... Because let's be honest, barely anyone cares about animators even if our craft is literally in front of people's faces.
I've been animating for a bit over a year now and I love it. So. Much. I'm absolutely fascinated by it!! But... I am really scared that, if I were to persue animation as a career, I would fall out of love with it. I have animated as a freelancer and in my free time, working on personal projects. And it was sometimes SOO hard to motivate myself to work on the freelance stuff when I'm not 100% passionate about the concept I am working with and animating.... so I wonder... should I persue a professional animation/art career, draw and create all day and then come home to maybe be able to work on personal projects if I have the energy left to look at a screen for the rest of the day... Or should I rather persue a different career that does not entail drawing all day and then be able to be creative in my off time since I don't come home from an artistic job that demands a lot of my creative energy... I don't know if I gor the point across but yeah... I can't get this out of my head...
Hey Addy, that makes complete sense and it’s a very interesting topic. I’ll try and cover it in a future video as it would take me ages to answer it here. ;)
@@harveynewman Omg hi! Wow thanks for answerign so quickly! I'd love to hear more about it from someone working in the industry. (Leaves abo so I won't miss it)
At this point i am at around 3:40 of the video. Havent watched any further but I have to say: Love the quote! 90% True for me! As an animator i feel I do have an audience. It's me. I am the audience as well. I make animation in a way that I like them my self as well! and thats also how I know a animation is done when I look at it myself and im genuinly happy and enjoy to watch on a loop. Im going to continue watching the video now ;p Edit: Finished watching. Loved it! Even as an experience game-animator is just so much fun to watch another animators experiences and I almost fully agree! Keep it up man and enjoy because its indeed the most fun job there is ;p
The thing that im not sure about is that say that i get a big studio job like (Pixar or Dreamworks) would i have to move closer to thier main studio or could i work from home
I'm from Portugal and here is kinda impossible to work as an animator, I don't know if I risk myself to move to another country and stop studying science, I'm 16 btw and made my 1 big decision that leads to an university, I was really confused because no one tells you about how things work they just see animation as a bad career choice, unstable and not grated
Hello...and I was also raised in Portugal and I understand the felling completely. I've been there and it's not a good feeling. The solution that I found was indeed to move abroad at a VERY young age because I knew that unfortunately the country was going to limit my ability to grow as an artist. But everyone's situation is different so make sure you do what's best for you.
For me my parents are 100% okay with me studying animation but I have had people( friends/family) tell me that I would be 40k in debt and being a animator wouldn’t pay well and it has caused me to 2nd guess myself but this video really helped me clear my mind
I’ve been watching your vids for quite some time and I just got into college but parents didn’t like the idea of animation from them saying it’s like a gig job and I’d be struggling to make a living so I’m doing business for a major but will try and someday get a job of animating from building up a portfolio and keeping it as a hobby as it’s kind of a passion for me
Very smart Bryan...animation, specially for games is a relatively unknown and misunderstood career, so keep on believing and working hard. I also got here by working hard on my spare time until someone decided to give me a chance.
Hey man, thank you so much I appreciate your honesty. I am about to transfer to university and am very undecided on whether to go for animation or graphic design. Your video helped me make a more informed decision, and I greatly appreciate that. Thank you
Should I pursue it as a hobby? I’m doing a different career (computer info systems) because I thought studying an art released degree won’t get me a lot of jobs, which is why I’m doing a major with high job security. But I really want to learn someway without college, or unless I could minor in a few art classes that relate to drawing and animation. As a child, I loved cartoons; I still love certain cartoons today that have unique styles, but sometimes I worry about how good I’ll be, and I haven’t done any drawing for a few years.
Hey Hamza. Lots of technologies come and go, I used to worry about such things before. Maybe you don't remember but when mocap came along people used to say the same. Same was true when 3D animation came along too. But the fact is, animation will always have the human element, because is the human element that gives soul to the animation. Without it you get movies like Polar Express.
Idk. I dont have any main interest, except for making and creating things. That's what brought me to graphic designing, and I'm thinking of continuing it with animation, I mean animation seems pretty useful and neccesary in today's world, why does it seem like its not? I feel like I'm doing something useless and inefficient.
Thank you very much for making this video💖 it really encourage me to pursue my dream to be an animator.. i just recently watch a video that make a bad effect on me.. and i found this it really encourage me thank youu💖 I hope you continue doing this😁
Its' funny how we view the word "ego", in modern times. It, actually, means "I" (as in "myself") in Latin and in Greek. But, in English, unfortunately, the word means an inflated concept of oneself or an exaggerated self-confidence.
You can absolutely do it in 2D..choose whatever you are passionate about. There's an industry out there for all mediums of animation, including Stop Motion. Best of luck in your animation journey
What up brother, thanks a million for watching and positive feedback. Really looking forward to continuing seeing that progress on Genesis. It's looking epic already.
Thanks so much, Harvey. I hope it works out with this project? I've been working on this thing for (Two Years), now. So we'll see? But your videos are great because you seem to build a very realistic view of what animation is all about, and also what it takes to make it in this industry as an (Animator), which is great! Anyway thanks, Bro, so much.
I am sure it will brother...I can relate with the fact that sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but don't worry man, you never know who's watching. Preserver and you'll see that just the effort alone won't go unnoticed, people in this industry have the tendency to watch in the dark to really have a feel for your love, skill and effort. I for one I am really digging the project. ;)
as a mexican where the industry here sucks and my parents make not a lot money, i feel like I'm alone, i feel unsupported and I'm afraid, afraid of failure
Hey Green. I completely understand, just know that if you show undeniable talent in your showreel you’ll have doors open worldwide. Companies are after talent, it really doesn’t matter where you live as long as you wow them.

I have a question about what it takes to become an animator for make your own animation series, because when I was young I always wanted to make my own animation series, but I’m a bit afraid of my self and my life of what step should it take to make a animation series? Do I need a specific degree for 2D animation, should I work for independent freelancer to produce on my own or should I find animation studio to do it? Does it require money to study in college or some place? Because I just wanted to know the step or what risk may be ahead so I should be stressing myself?
Hey Lps. Thanks for watching, and I have a few videos explaining exactly that, if you search my channel you'll have at least two videos explaining what's required to become and animator and how to get started
Because animation is so hard, is it better to start in illustration to gain transferable skills that'll make pursuing animation less daunting? Assuming 2D animation is less difficult than 3D, should the path be illustration, 2D, then 3D?
I love working behind the scenes, my arts that I posted are from my anon account but I'm afraid since I have no hands on experience in arts field nor animation. I'm worried if I take major in animation ppl will criticize my lack of skills.
I don’t think they will. After all we are all in the same boat, animation is tough as nails doesn’t matter if you’re great in the arts craft or not. ;)
I’m ok with not being famous I just want to make people happy and animation is a way to do that
That’s the attitude. Thanks for watching.

Well said, and completely agree.
awesome wisdom here... 👍🏻
Thank you for this
3 years from there your wisdom helps me a lot
the burnout is real, i can say, was super excited when i first got hired and became and animator but eventually you keep doing the same thing over and over and over especially if you dont work for a studio. there was a time i didnt learn anything new for about 5 months, only thing that keeps me going is personal projects that forces me to adopt new techniques or plugs in/scripts. And of course i do those personal projects in my spare time, off hours.
I see myself as an artist and storyteller, so that's why I want to become an animator. Found your video inspiring.
Thanks for watching. 🙏🏾

This industry does that to most, but I find that the ones that keep strong and inspired through the years end up having the most fun. ;) Keep in touch
do i need a college degree for that type of field because that’s exactly what i want to do
@@isaiahnorwood9529 In my opinion a degree is not necessary, only a strong portfolio, and a portfolio is easier to make if you go to a school with a program specifically for animation.
Thanks for watching.
yeah me too! i have the exact same dream and idea of what i want to do. i just dont know how id get started tbh
Thanks!

I'm currnetly in the 11th grade and I have about a year left and the sooner that year comes to an end the more I stress on what to choose to major in when I graduate :(

are you getting paid well in this field pls answer

I’m stuck between being an animator and a programmer!
Edit: well, 11 months later! I still want to be an animator but I don’t want to be a programmer. But then again I also want to work with physiology and detective work
Wolfyia well I am 11 and I understand programming and computer science so if you are not good at that stuff then it may not be a good option for you
Wolfie Alpha I’m going to try it out late this year
Wolfyia it could work I guess
Omg I'm stuck between the same careers lol
I'm stuck at being an animator and being an accountant. I'm good at math and all but it never made me happy.
Even if the animators don't get credit from the viewers and audience, they will get it from their boss.
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, but I think I still need to learn more at college

I would like to know the reasons for many animators going to many studios through their careers. I have seen many animators leaving studios like Disney and Pixar, that many people consider dream jobs. I wonder if most of them do it for economical reasons, creative reasons or just looking for a new challenge.
i thought they run out of work

Lol 😅
That's the right attitude Owl. Best of luck in your journey and keep strong
Proud moment is when you can see yourself or your friends names in the credits... Because let's be honest, barely anyone cares about animators even if our craft is literally in front of people's faces.
Yeah animation is definitely a craft where you have to do it for yourself and not to be famous.
I’m not in college yet and I think I want to be an animator but now I’m scared ,I love making art and watching animation they inspire me … idk anymore
Animation takes a lot of time, patience and energy.
I just started with 2d animation. Its not amazing, but i keep practising and trying to improve.
That’s the correct attitude to have in animation. Keep strong and you’ll get there with plenty of practice.
I’ll try and cover it in a future video as it would take me ages to answer it here. ;)

Actually this gave me more inspiration to become an animator! thks!
Hey man, thank you so much I appreciate your honesty. I am about to transfer to university and am very undecided on whether to go for animation or graphic design. Your video helped me make a more informed decision, and I greatly appreciate that. Thank you
I taught myself how to animate in quarantine and I think the stuff I posted is pretty decent for a noob like me
It applies to all jobs. Some like it, but some don't
I'm 21 and I want to learn animation, but I don't have much confidence in myself.

what is your thought on match moving technologies and what will animators futures after match moving technologies?
And you miss the salary part.

Its' funny how we view the word "ego", in modern times. It, actually, means "I" (as in "myself") in Latin and in Greek. But, in English, unfortunately, the word means an inflated concept of oneself or an exaggerated self-confidence.
Hi i have a question? So i want to became a animator ,but i was wondering if you can just make 2D Animation or if you have to do 2&3D ?
You can absolutely do it in 2D..choose whatever you are passionate about. There's an industry out there for all mediums of animation, including Stop Motion. Best of luck in your animation journey
thanks for this fam! so helpful. :)
Anytime brother. Make sure to keep in touch.
Harvey, I love your videos, dude. As usual, great information and great insight. Thanks.
I for one I am really digging the project. ;)
Thank, Bro. That means a lot coming from you.
as a mexican where the industry here sucks and my parents make not a lot money, i feel like I'm alone, i feel unsupported and I'm afraid, afraid of failure
Hey Green. I completely understand, just know that if you show undeniable talent in your showreel you’ll have doors open worldwide. Companies are after talent, it really doesn’t matter where you live as long as you wow them.
@@harveynewman Then I'll work extra hard to be that animator, thank you so much for your support
Nice chat !!
I am glad I found this channel.
Hey Enio. Welcome to the channel. Glad you found it too. ;) Stick around, a lot more in the pipeline.

That's the absolute correct attitude to have Rovert. Thanks for watching.
@@harveynewman thanks just wish I was making a buck doing animation like you are.
Thank you for inspiration ☺️
Anytime Cyn.
the part about the ego inflation was new to me
Love your work!
Thanks a million Sinjin.
It’s so very difficult but it makes you cool as fuuuuck if you know how to do it
LOL!!!! Yes it does, and thanks for that. Keep in touch.
Hahaaahah
Because animation is so hard, is it better to start in illustration to gain transferable skills that'll make pursuing animation less daunting? Assuming 2D animation is less difficult than 3D, should the path be illustration, 2D, then 3D?
Cool video, by the way!
Thanks a lot for this video.
I really needed this video Because In next 5 months I’m going to finish my graduation.
My pleasure Daveed. Glad it help in time of need. Best of luck with your graduation man.
I love working behind the scenes, my arts that I posted are from my anon account but I'm afraid since I have no hands on experience in arts field nor animation. I'm worried if I take major in animation ppl will criticize my lack of skills.
I don’t think they will. After all we are all in the same boat, animation is tough as nails doesn’t matter if you’re great in the arts craft or not. ;)
Great vid bro!
Thanks a mill brova. ;)
