Oshi No Ko is the perfect example of an amazing brilliant story that is peppered with those taboo Japanese tropes, and your explanation can probably be used for the majority of them! There are SOOO many good animes that if the tropes can either not be in it or ignored, then it’s amazing Well put together episode, lads
I feel like Oshi no Ko as a whole was well done but it obviously has it's downs. Alot of the RubyAqua relationship is pretty misunderstood from what I've seen along with some other things. The series has amazing foreshadowing but plot holes that never get plugged up. I think some things need to be looked deeper into aswell as RubyAqua, obviously I can go into more detail if anyone would want to hear about it but I am NOT DEFENDING the incest obv but it is deeper than people treat it. For anyone who hasn't read the manga the RubyAqua stuff won't be for a very very long time so give the anime more time if you're genuinely interested
I think it's a matter of people starting the manga after the anime aired and almost immediately after get humbled by the RxA plot twist and not being prepared for it. If you're an anime-only, you're used to having these things resolved or justified within the season. For avid manga readers who follow weekly and monthly releases, we know that we often don't get answers to plot twists MONTHS after they're revealed. So, to the uninitiated you're left to fester with these weird feelings thinking "That was it?" and not having the patience to see where it goes or what the writer was going for. Heck I bet these people would have dropped the series if they were following the manga when it first released, not being patient enough to see where the author was headed during the early episode one content. I say this because I observed the same thing happening with MHA. People were so frustrated that the current arc felt drawn out when in manga releases, but people's opinions changed when the anime had a faster paced presentation merely due to faster content releases. I think this will be a problem that popular anime with a currently serializing manga just have to acknowledge than try to fix or else you'll just get janky pacing that works if you follow week to week but will feel clunky during volume releases. Some people just aren't built to be manga fans and that's okay.
Man i need to ask u something important! So a friend of mine started watching some anime i dont remember which one but he told me he didnt liked that bc he couldnt understand something that was explained in the first ep and he said "i dont watch any first eps doesnt matter of what anime" and apperently most of the ppl i know doesnt watch first eps! Like wtf i didnt knew that! Why would they skip the first ep!
i truly believe that oshi no ko couldve broken *world records* in anime, but the mangaka totally killed it..
yo i agree with that! it really is a shame
