This is helpful. I want to redo old lamps and am learning. Many have the wobbly problem. I would like to know more about the basic hardware on most lamps. You showed some pieces at the end of the video but didn't identify them.

Gosh that’s great. I have two beautiful lamps that are wobbly in stem area. I can tell it just needs what you just did to that one. I love the lamps but they are not functional

There’s a threading gel to add to it when tightening the bolt so it doesn’t keep happening.

    hi,
just so you know this is exactly the problem I have with one of my favorite lamps. I watched you three times and your hands are covering much of the work, the camera is a little too wobbly and those two skinny parts (that hold up the lampshade) are blocking some of the detail of what you're doing. Hate to ask you but if at all possible would you mind making a "do over" for us who are truly "tech challenged"?

Taking the harp off would have made it easier to see.

I have a lamp that does that. My late Dad bought it as an Anniversary gift for his parents in 1952. I can't fix it. Very fragile. Handpainted fine porcelain.

Would have been easier if you removed the top piece harp so it's out of the way. You kept fighting it.

More close up shots. Too much background noise.

That's why I record inside. Then only the kids can bother me. LOL
But better than jets flying overhead!

Nice work on getting the lamp fixed but the background noise is loud and the work you're doing is blocked by your hands or camera angle. I agree that if this is to be helpful for people to follow then another video should be made.

You should figure out how to do this before you teach others.

Stephanie Miller thanks for your comment. I firmly believe that problem solving requires impromptu assessment and evaluation. Unrehearsed and unscripted is real life. Again, thank you for your comment and good luck with your projects.
