      Yes its terrible mental condition, i was at gastroenterologist 1 year before, and now i think something serious has happened in that period, because i think i was missdiagnosed and that doctor didnt properly adress 1 simptom, and now i am making my own diagnosis based on what i read on internet and i fear the worst. That is actually silly to think because it was older gastroenterologist so he probably knows what he does. But i just cant againts my brain, last time i was convinced something is wrong with my lungs and scan came clear, but that doesnt assure me maybe im wrong this time, like last 4-5 times i visited doctor@@kay.9819

Also doesn’t help that I’m a nurse in an ICU. One tiny symptom no one else would even notice sends you into a downward spiral immediately. It’s wild to me that there’s people out there who don’t stress about anything.

    I thought I had some form of cancer because I have 11 bumps over parts of my body 3 on my left leg and 3 on my right arm 2 stomach and 1 on my the middle of my chest. And that’s what started my health anxiety. I never had a biopsy done. I have been to 3 doctors and they all say it is either cysts - fibromatosis-or some form of fatty tissue that is non cancerous so after I left the doctor office I was like how do they know because they didn’t do anything but look at them. So afterwards my anxiety skyrocketed for a couple of years. But then I got over that thank Jesus. Right after that now I have something else wrong with me and my mind has conjured so many more health issues. It’s like I conquer one just to start another one. It’s a daily occurrence. But listening to cherelle thinks it has helped my overall mental health. I still struggle but it helps me so much. And not just her so many other people on RUclips help me out. Thank you so much

    Everything you said, I could literally be saying the same words. Health anxiety is so miserable and steals so much from life. My HA exacerbates when I'm so overwhelmed and stressed. what if? what if I don't catch it? I don't want to leave my kids? where do I go...I don't want to go! Letting go is SCARY! but I'm starting to learn like you that's its the only way. anxiety makes us believe we are so less capable of coping with life. we are warriors in our own way. better days can come and they will, we just need to be able to let them and see them. xxxxx Need to hold on a little longer

    Over a month ago I went to the GP because I was sometimes (once a month) throwing up after eating food and severe stomach/abdominal pain which went away after I threw up. I went just to check maybe I have an ulcer or infection, he checked my abdomen and didn’t feel anything worrying, so he ordered some bloods. Anyway, a few days after got a call from another doctor at my practice who has never seen me before, he called me telling me I have inflammation in my body which needs to be investigated (ALT, ALP, ESR, CRP, RBC) all raised. He said he booked my on for an abdominal scan and a chest x Ray, I also needed to do a FIT test. Few days after that he called to say chest X Ray was normal but fit test was abnormal and that he is very sorry to tell me this and that I needed an urgent colonoscopy. I was in bits, he practically convinced me I had bowel cancer, he just kept apologising and saying unfortunately, I couldn’t wait for NHS so I went private, I did MRI of entire abdomen, colonoscopy and gastronoscopy and another CBC including tumour markers. All they found was gallstones which I need my gallbladder removed and also a fatty liver which explains the high liver enzymes on blood test… but looking over at my blood test I could see that the ESR has actually increased from 48 to 60… doctor looked at it but didn’t seem too concerned but I’ve been Googling and I’m back at square one where I think I have cancer all over again…. Im just petrified. Im crying everyday, I’m having panic attacks, I have some symptoms which I don’t know if it’s my anxiety doing this to me. I haven’t ate, I haven’t drank water, I haven’t even slept properly. I have a 2 year old and I just can’t cope with this feeling that I might not see her grow up. I’ve absolutely convinced myself that I’m dying. I’m getting heart palpitations almost every night since the GP rang me with my results. I honestly don’t know how to move on, last week I convinced myself I had a brain tumour and this week it’s multiple myeloma, I keep telling myself they would have seen multiple myeloma on the MRI and Chest X Ray but I just can’t seem to focus my energy on anything other than the possibility I have a terminal illness. I’m just so scared but it’s literally ruining my life, I just can’t seem to get my life back on track it’s becoming scary because I’m starting to see why people with depression end up committing suicide and I’m scared I’m going down that path. Sorry for the long post but I needed to let it out.

    Amazing video. I have suffered from health anxiety on and off since early 2019.
    I liken health anxiety to like have cancer in the brain as whilst you dont have cancer, it just eats away at you by convincing you that you have it and makes your life miserable.
    As you say the only way to beat health anxiety is to let go of your fears and just live in the moment and enjoy life.
    Very hard to do but when you do it, it's such a weight off your shoulders.

    My fear of cancer was ignited when I had a tumor on my ovary when I was 18. They were sure it was just a functional cyst. That ended up not being the case. I had a benign mucinous cystadenoma. Okay I got a question I feel like only some might understand.
    I feel insane as I write this because it doesn’t make sense.
    I want to get a colonoscopy because I’ve been bleeding down there. I got it scheduled then backed out because I read complications that can happen. But I need this!!! But scared because I could die of perforation or something.
    Then I have stuff going on in my ear that requires a CT Scan. I’m scared it might be a tumor or something so I scheduled it. But then I read the CT scans can cause cancer and canceled it. Because what if nothing ends up being wrong and I just exposed myself to something that can give you cancer 😢😞
    I feel absolutely insane. I want to know what’s going on with myself. But if it turns out all to be nothing I put myself at risk for other things.

    • @Vanessa-jy4ky
      @Vanessa-jy4ky Год назад +1

      I don’t know if this will help but I’m 36 and have had so many endoscopies/colonoscopies, I’ve lost count. I’ve had surgery for reflux & I also have IBS. Never had a perforation. From what I’ve heard it’s extremely rare. Also, there is radiation everywhere. If you fly you are exposed to radiation. It’s cumulative risk you need to consider - one offs are no cause for concern. This is coming from a person with a history of severe health anxiety.
      If there are real concerns there, then do what you need to do; but also consider how you will respond when you get the all clear. Will you move onto something else requiring further tests? Will that do your mental health any good? All the best x

    • @benkoning2241
      @benkoning2241 Год назад +1

      Sarah, go ahead and get those tests to reassure yourself. Perforations and excessive radiation risks are extremely rare. This is speaking from someone (me) who had completely debilitating health anxiety for 8 months, and yes, have had multiple CT scans, bazillions of dental and other x-rays, and a colonoscopy, Yes, after reassurance you will likely “find” something else to be concerned about, but that doesn’t mean that as “step zero” you shouldn’t get those tests to reassure yourself. But then let “step one” be learning and trying to follow (I know it’s hard!) the advice of people like Cherelle, Improvement Path, Claire Weekes, etc. You *will* get better, I promise. Don’t set a timeline! As Claire Weekes wrote, recovery isn’t necessary slow, but it does *start* slow. Hang in there! All the best.

    You need professional help girlfriend. Health anxiety is one thing but you are in another stratosphere if you had seriously thought you had all those cancers and diseases at one point. You can make all the videos to “talk about it” all you want but you need to see a mental health therapist if you want to get better.
