If you notice here in the Philippines a lot of single young adults need a cheap place to live so there are a lot of business which are called boarding houses. Now most of these boarding is is just a small room and that's it with a shared bathroom down the hall. I think if you build a boarding house with a small studio type of room with a small bathroom and kitchenette 2 to 3 people would easily share the cost because of the amenities it provides inside the room. Just my thought.
Foreigners can’t own a land in the Philippines unless they have Filipina wife or they change their citizenship to Filipino.Foreigners can only own condo units in the PH ..Building boarding house is not feasible for them coz they need a land for it.
I was going to say that, too. My husband is US Citizen, I'm a Filipina. My husband helped me build an apartment in the Philippines. It has 4 units. Each unit can accommodate 4 and up people. Young families, singles, students are the ones that can afford to rent it. (If you are going to consider this type of business, make sure you are not that far from school or business area.)

Having had businesses for many years, one of the key elements of success is that loyalty and fairness is a two way street. There are not many businesses in the Philippines that are viable for expats. We require higher returns to offset the risks so there is little point in operating Peso denominated enterprises, leave that for the locals. Because of the 60/40 rule and the insecure tenure it's probably not a good idea to invest large sums, as the saying goes, " how do you make a million dollars in the Philippines, start with 10 million". I have wrestled with this challenge, not for me but rather if I were to meet someone, at 66 I am bound to outlive them, so what can you create to ensure their welfare after you are gone, it is possible but only if the business is denominated in hard currency. I was actually curious about this resort too since I've seen it in other vlogs. I wonder how long it took Mousaf to recoup his initial investment? My dad moved to Davao from the US 30 yrs ago as retired military, having used some of his pension to invest in some businesses there to sustain him and his new family over the years. Currently he has a coffee shop with my half sister in Davao City.
0-7 years if you're starting from scratch to establish your customers and start earning money back... If you're buying an already honest established business 5 years to get your money back...

At 18:47 on your backgroud at the end of the beach are those two hills made of corals. Past those hills is a hiden cove with two seperate small beach and an island on the middle.

I have others as well, my brother is a Vietnam vet who has a huge mechanical knowledge, has run his own business in Darwin, and has business mates who are interested in what we are doing. I'm also good with languages and currently learning Tagalog. I'm 61 just got my black belt in BJJ and I do MMA, my brother and I come from a well educated military family. Hope to see you soon.
It depends if you have a long term contract like say 10-15 years and with a legal 5% accelerations yearly then this will give the renter the stability.
You get what you pay for. But, I always tip trike guys extra because that extra 50 or 100 pesos I give them doesn't hurt me but it means a lot to them and they are very thankful and anytime I need them they are always there for me. But, good video.
Right. When it comes workers it's always about treating people well. It's universal. Unfortunately sometimes there's been stereotypes and practices where a businessman from a certain nationality may treat other nationalities or races or whatever differently by way of humane treatment. Historically this has always been a foolish practice in the end...The golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Would you give me and my daughter a chance to work for your resort, my husband who is an American died due to heart attack and my daughter and i left behind.. We PRAYED dearly to our Dear GOD, that i can find a job so that my daughter continued college... Thank you Sir so much

@@FelizaCamba-xc8phwell, we filipinos should also be ready for competition. the expats can also start a business here, that's fine with me, my concern is they should be aware of the risks that they haven't foreseen such as the drawbacks of a sari-sari store business, or any small-scale businesses, for example.
I dont agree in how treating your workers, I build a house with a crew off 5, what I learned is reward them later fore good work not upfront, that does not work here, if you give a finger your arm is gone
I don't recall anyone mentioning anything about paying upfront? Paying upfront is customary in building a house, not running a business...Also, how would treating workers well with positivity and respect be wrong? This man has had the same staff for 12 years. I've met many of them over time and they do appear happy...

Apply for investors visa- inquire directly to an immigration office or you can put up a business under your son's name
