Awesome project! It's so refreshing to see a piece like this that isn't made with a CNC. Helps motivate those of us that aren't able to have a CNC at the moment! Thanks!
Thank you Vincent - we haven’t got the budget or space for a CNC so work with what we have! There is something satisfying about producing interesting pieces by hand though. Thanks for the comment!
Very nice, and extremely practical. It's nice to see a project on RUclips that is smart, useful and practical for a change. Well done, and thanks for a terrific video.
All I can say about your table is an old saying we had when I was a kid back in the late 50's: Me 'ats off to da duke! This is meant as a compliment. 2 thumbs up!
I think your brother met a beautiful siren girl by the pool. You must have already enjoyed the drink from his glass. The table was inspirational, show. Wow!! Is this armchair your drawing? The best I can see in a long time.
@@BrothersMake I live here in Brazil, Bahia- Vitória da Conquista (= Victory of Conquest) city. It took me 10 years building a house with a huge garage to make stylish furniture like yours. But I had to rent to send the three children to Federal University. I'm proud to see you releasing these videos. It shows that you are people who have caring for people. I'll let you know, the translation is from the magician Google. I do not speak English, well, that's another dream.
Wow thank you that is so kind! There are some incredible designs so I don’t think we’ll come close but super glad you like it! Thanks for the support 👍🏼
I absolutely love this design! I wish there were plans but I have tons of cardboard and know where I can get birch and maple plywood for a great price. I might make a template this week...if I can find the time that is.
Cool project! One could use the plywood even more efficiently by using only whole parts on the outside and smaller pieces on the inside. As long as the small pieces overlap each other that shouldn’t effect the strength of the table.
@@BrothersMake I used to work in a timber yard, I guess I carried a couple of thousand sheets of ply over the years, plus MDF, OSB and plasterboard. One one job, with another guy helping, I pushed about four pallets of ply through the table saw (200 sheets), going down to 9" rips if I remember correctly. None of us used dollys, there is a technique to it.
Thank you very much! We have bought a couple of angle grinders - they are super cheap second hand. We keep one for metal cutting and one for power carving/sanding. Great fun too! Thanks for the support

looks great, right out of 1960's woodworking magazine. I can even see the area I need to fix to make it be useful and not fall over on its side.
Backhanded compliment but thanks, I guess

Haha! That’s probably exactly what happened! No, we didn’t make the chair I’m afraid. Maybe one day we’ll replace it with our own design.

Yes you’re absolutely right. I considered increasing the width in this way but ended up deciding against it as I liked the proportions as they were.

Awesome piece of furniture. Video was instructive, precise and to the point. Well done. Any chance of posting the template after the competition?

Bruce A. Ulrich thank you Bruce!
It is an awesome table.
Thank you Kobie!
Awsome. Nice work...
Cool table!
Thanks Chris!
Looks super nice. Some might notice that you can't slide the bottom under anything, like sofa.
Thanks for the feedback. That’s the main reason that we made the table top stick out further than the base. We haven’t had any issues yet!
Great build and a really practical design :) Love it ॐ

Great video. I was a little concerned in the beginning when this strapping young man needed a dolly to carry a single sheet of plywood. Thanks.
I had a dolly to hand so would rather use it and not put my back at risk. Thanks

Absolutely beautiful! :) Great work!
Thank you! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
You did great up to the point when you put polyurethane on it. Don’t use poly use lacquer. Poly is for amatures
We wanted to use a thicker and slightly more robust finish as the layers were exposed and spilt drinks could potentially absorb into the wood.
well done man!
Marcel Teugels thanks dude!
Matt, great build, tell Johnnie the lackey you’ll just take over the world. may the best project win. mine might be in second to yours.
Haha 😂😂 thanks man. Have you got your video uploaded yet?
This is super cool. I think I might have to try an make one myself! That is, after I buy an angle grinder and learn how to carve wood! 😂😂😂

Have you tried any cordless ones? Curious if they're powerful enough or if a corded option would be the best bet.
No both of ours are corded. The cordless ones look awesome though. So handy. Will have to add one to the wish list!
I dig it.
Thank you Hazem
Neat Table!
Thanks!
Totally lovely congratulations God bless you
