Also.. sat at kettering railway station in late 80s knowing my girl friend.. female friend wound never be more than a friend. Listened to brand new cassette. Raintown. Awesome. I'd left Glasgow tech college in 87 and joined the Navy on a whim. Long train journeys back to glasgow that day in 87. DB played my freshers ball in 86 at the Tech college but i had no money. So did not see them. But think a bootleg came out. Must look it u. Great interview Sir Kenneth of Bruce
Lorraine McIntosh's vocals complete the Deacon Blue sound. For anyone who has not seen it the SECC live performance filmed over two nights in December 1989 is one of the most exciting, accomplished live performances by a band recorded, in my view. It is on the CD/DVD singles collection The Bigger Picture. Communal singing at its best and sadly a bygone era.
i have seen them live twice 1st time the echo arena 2012 or 2014 most recent was in Liverpool at the pier head 23-6-2024. deacon blue are a unratted 80's bands brilliant live band and i will see them again when they next gig in Liverpool or maybe go to scotland to see them as i have never been to scotland you may have guessed i am from Liverpool (no am not LIverpool fan as i do get asked that qustion) deacon blue love playing Liverpool and us scousers love beacon blue
Had a crush many many many years ago and still got albums saw there so called last gig in Gloucester whenever it was probably nineties many memories originally from Edinburgh.
Ah Lorraine. I did IT support at Calderwood Lodge. I was told your children went there. I was leaving the School and got stuck behind a bin lorry. On the radio on came dignity. But I love your simple minds choice. My fave SM song by a long shot. Just so meloidic. I'm guessing Steve Lillywhite but prob wrong. Lorraine sings the blues.. in bars of 12 or less❤
She stayed at Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane when I worked there years ago. I saw her in reception and thought I recognised her but couldn't place from where, eventually I asked if she was the year above me at school!!!! Am total idiot 🙃 She said she worked in music.

Amazing how many memories and emotions can be bottled up in one album. For me it was and is Raintown.

Is it not possible to conceive that people are individuals? It is meant to be the twenty first century.
@eightiesmusic1984 of course just never seen them separately before
Deacon Blue. Still a force to be reckoned with. They’re brilliant live ❤
