Nice work Tom!! Love the service videos on that gorgeous bike!! But what I would love to see is ride videos as well!! Hopefully one day will ride together.......
My experience with the RS is when people change from a stock exhaust to a full system, they don’t rejet the bike. Standard jetting is usually rich and needs to be that size for the very restricted stock exhaust. Once a free flowing full system is put on, the main jet should be stepped down a size or two and your problem should be solved
Hi great video sounds so much better now, I have recently purchased a 2002 rs 125 and when in neutral or in gear and clutch is pressed the bike revs climb but when I hold it at bite point they go back down. Can you help please
Hi Joe. Thanks for your comment. From your description, it sounds to me like you have a lean pilot. This is what I sometimes call a “run away idle” Try to slightly richen the pilot circuit by quarter turning the air/fuel screw. Monitor the incremental adjustment you have made👍 Cheers Tom
Ok cool. You in Australia? You should get a good price for your carb and reeds. I just installed a set of aftermarket carb jets from 6Sigma and the bike runs real well. Heaps more power through the bottom and midrange. Uses allot less fuel and smokes less. Couldn’t be happier. Video to come.
I love your videos!! How did you manage to repair the oil leak between the engine outlet and the exhaust pipe inlet? Did you put a gasket? Or is it inevitable that oil comes out of that area?
Hi Raul Glad you like my videos🤝 To answer your question- my bike was running so rich that it was leaking out of the engine mount. Once I tuned the carb and the bike was running crisp, I then replaced the exhaust gasket and used a thin layer of exhaust sealer. This fixed the issue. A bit of oil residue near the exhaust silencer is somewhat normal, but not excessive to the point where it is dripping. Cheers
Hi Tajusp Thanks for leaving a message. I think I’m reading the message right - A 2 stroke engine needs back pressure and the dampening of the silencer. I’m not sure if you’ll brake the engine, however you will probably experience a loss in power. Cheers Tom
@@tomdidit4216yeah i probably did not notice your response but thanks for telling Me and can you drop a link of what carburator jets you got because i dont know wich Ones to buy
hi Tom - great video as always - quick exhaust question if I may - Ive just stuck an arrow expansion on mine so have the full system now - what do you do with the SAS pipe that used t connect to the standard pipe? I didn't know what it was initially, it is leaking a little water, does it need to recirculate or can it just be like an overflow? ie just goes on the floor!
Greetings Tim Thanks for watching and commenting I just removed mine as it is derestricted and no longer needed👍 Good to hear you fixed your leak issue Cheers Tom
Thanks for the sub! Also the feed back in the oil I’m using. Motul 710 has good reviews for use in other road bikes. Personally I’m yet to find out how it looks on a plug chop.
Hi Phillip. It does dampen the sound slightly. Also makes it sound a bit deeper and not a tinny. There are claims of performance gains however I couldn’t notice them🤷♂️ Cheers
The difference between before & after is huge! It sounded horrible before :D
Thanks for your comment Etunimi.
Glad you liked it!
Incredible how different it sounds!
I’m going for angry lawnmower!!😀

Hi Tom, I have RS125 PY with a Giannelli exhaust and it isn‘t oily Like yours? I use Agip synthetic oil and did no setup changes. Regards

Hi Tom love the vids any chance you know what size rivits you used?
What IF i did not put the Cotton or the metal tune in the silencer and just slaped it on the bike just like that .will it break anything?

its ok - it wasn't the SAS - the rad hose above it had split! The SAS has always been disconnected I have learned.

Does this help dampen the sound?
