I recently fully completed Mario 64 last month. Definitely had some moments where I flipped out. Shifting Sand Land and Tick Tock Clock were definitely big contributors. All the same it felt great to beat the game.
Now I get to see TWO Mario movies this week. This is probably my favorite Mario playthrough by the Grumps. Super funny moments, Arin’s slow descent from lighthearted nostalgia to unhinged and unbridled rage, Dan’s out-of-left field commentary. Let’s-a-go!
Arin starting off pretty optimistic and then over the course of like 90 episodes or however long it was slowly losing his mind makes this one of my favorite playthroughs.
Arin trying to get the hundred coins in lava land was so painful because he didn't know the turtle shell only appears when you play the fifth star that was several episodes long, those were good times
I remember not liking this series because Arin was ragging on it, but man... Arin's frustration with this game is a joy to watch. There's something about Super Mario 64 and it's inherent jankiness that makes me smile, too.
My favorite moment of the entire series is in Tick Tock Clock, when the camera angles itself in such a perfect way that you can't see that there's a wall on the side of the cage. Arin goes to jump into it to get the star, only to hit the side of the cage. He then goes "Oh... eat my ass" and it's in a tone that is just so completely DONE with this game. It makes me laugh every single time I watch it

I was Literally watching Grumps compilations to go to bed last night and when I woke up it was right at the MARK ZUCKERBERG bit and to this day, still one of my favorite moments of all time.
I'd love to see more of these types of compilations for some of the older series. It's nice being able to watch them and enjoy them but going back and watching a 15episode plus series can be pretty daunting so this is awesome.
I wish this was made like the "A Way Out," "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," and "Bloodborne" movies where it's just a straight playthrough. This feels more like a "Best of Mario 64."

This is one of my favourite games from my childhood. ❤ And Arin is so bad at it I think it's amazing he cleared the game. He made everything so unnecessarily hard.
It has not aged well, it's the first of it's kind so the camera and controls are trash.
@@CheefChaos the controls and camera are amazing. You just have to get used to them. Seriously watch some speedruns of this game, the amount of control you have of mario is insane. He feels fucking amazing to control
@@dezy36 "Get used to them". I played this game for years from the moment it came out, it was the very first of it's kind and did great things, the controls and camera are not one of those great things due to it being the first of it's kind.

this game consumes every aspect of a person's being. when i was in the process of completing it, i had stayed awake for 3 days. While i was just laying down staring at the ceiling, i heard "it's a-me, mario" downstairs. i immediately felt my stomach drop and my body was filled with fear. Ever since, i have used the mario hallucinations as an indicator of when i should end my sleepless benders.
Pretty sure the first FUCK was at 0:58, not quite one minute in 🤣
