*Emotes in front of a reviving mercy* here’s to six more years of bronze
Nah dude if Mercy is rezzing in a 2v5. I'll pop the phone emote. Even on ot, and I'm in masters 4. The bubble usage is the reason he's bronze.
I'm not sure, but I think the Winston player was bubbling out of fear.
and Ulting on cooldown
6 years in bronze is impressive at that point
....as opposed to 8 years over here?
@@paulkieferjr5178 Send in a vod maybe Emongg can enlighten you 😂
@@paulkieferjr5178bro upload a vod to your channel most people are in gold at least, we could help you out honestly
The mental fortitude must be indomitable
I think I’m about to hit 4 years in bronze. I’m console though so not sure if anyone would like to see the mess of my bronze gaming.
He also has very little health pack awareness. He was like 25hp right next to a large health pack and just jumped in on the point still being low health
It was overtime and nobody was on point, so a jubble there just to hold and distract makes a bit more sense
Biggest issue most low ELO players have with dive tanks are they dive with no thought behind it beyond "Go for the supports." No setup, no tracking of abilities, and no way out if shit goes bad.
Such an underated comment 💀 but SO TRUE, dive tanks & dps just go in & they get these bad habits bc the awareness in metal ranks & how peel is a luxury so they think they're "diving" when reality are just feeding
I love "jubble" becoming a canon term in Emongg's chat lmao
“Have you ever on Winston tried to jump and got yourself clotheslined on some part of the environment?!”
I was earlier today playing defense on Hollywood chasing squishes on the stairs next just past choke on first point. Found myself being harassed by a Reaper and I just thought “haha I got this! I’ll just jump away” only to bump into the… trees?!
Trees?! DID ANYONE KNOW THERE WERE TREES THERE?!?!
I keep getting stuck on street lamps lamps while playing mercy 🥲
I got memed on while defending hollywood once because I was chasing a low squish through the upper balcony. Ended up right in front of their spawn, and tried to jump back to the choke.
Slammed into the streetlight at the bottom of the ramp and died lmao
27:08 "I'm not going to comment on that bubble, and here's why..."
Proceeds to comment about bubble for the next 40 seconds. Lol
actually it's commend 🤓
@@janerthenerdlol it is literally not is english your second language?
It’s crazy that low ranks think a mercy pocket is adequate healing lol 😂
Mercy plays a lot better on console also, she’s irrelevant on pc though.
@@StepDaddyShane my friend mains mercy I just don’t enjoy her play style
To be fair, at low ranks the enemies miss most of their shots, Mercy can be adequate.
@@sublimedhaze7792 yeah but that creates bad habits for those people.
@@vanessaoftheundead2613 most of them are never leaving the metal ranks. If they don't climb, they aren't actually bad habits.
I don't disagree with you that Mercy isn't great at her job right now. Just pointing out another perspective.
I think the reason they misplay their bubble so much, is because they don't know WHAT they should be doing (which the bubble would help them accomplish), so they just treat it as an expendable resource cus to them and their playstyle it literally is expendable.
So to teach bubble management, we must first teach what Winston's role as a tank is.
Playing Winston, your primary goal is to manage space. And this is why you're still in bronze, because you have zero clue about what space management is.
In short, space management is about making the space the enemy players want to take, be as tedious and risky for them as possible. That's the core principle behind fundamental Winston gameplay.
An easy example: If the enemy has a Widow, you know she wants good sight lines, preferably on a high ground where she can't easily be contested. A bad Winston will ignore her. A mediocre Winston will jump in and challenge her. A good Winston will predict the space she wants to use, and already jump in and attempt to control that space before she even gets there.
A more nuanced but common aspect of space management, is what space does the enemy dps and supports often want to use? Convenient off angles. An Ana getting a cheeky flank to land an anti-nade -a Soldier trying to get an angle on your backline, a Genji trying to get on that rooftop to shoot down on your dps, etc. Managing this space is also your role, and the most efficient way to manage this space, is by isolating singular targets and either forcing them out, or killing them if they have no resources to escape. Jumping in on them and separating them from their team, using the bubble on them to ensure they cant get healed and also you don't get shot by more than that one player you've isolated, that's how you pressure and manage space. Either they retreat, or you force their allies to commit excessive resources to assist them -at which point your team mates will have more space and less attention on them, so they can be much more effective. And if there's too much heat on you, you simply jump out to safety, get healed back up, and go back into the fight and find a new way to manage the space around where the team fight is happening.
The bubble, in space management, is used either to isolate a target, or to deny very strong enemy abilities such as anti nade, sleep dart, hog hook, etc -or veeery high solo target damage like Reaper being close to you etc.
Hardstuck for 6 years is devious
well they did say they were playing on and off, I think not climbing then is understandable
@@sakura9959 it doesnt take that long to climb out of bronze tho
@@tankdjsims Depends on your experience with competitive games and fps games. Took me like 4 seasons to get out of bronze on dps and another 5 to get out of silver
"Babe we can't play together Emongg said you're making me worse"
This wasn't a Jubble, this was a Bubblump. Always bubbled first then jumped away 😂
Shout out to the donkey kong music right when the player switched to Winston
Now you have to see how long you can stay there, shoot for the longest standing active bronze account
This player needs to learn to use more health packs scattered around the map!
I think there was even a point where they saw one and hesitated to go to it. Sat at the point below 30 for so long lol.
Why use a health pack when you could use your girlfriend as a pocket Mercy
@@Luci-pz8xx she wasn't there more than half of the time so this makes no sense?
@@maiyukitty6309
This is sarcasm. As Emongg had said previously because he's got a pocket healer he's making poor decisions aka not getting the health pack because he doesn't think he needs it
6 years is kinda insane. These vids make me think I’m a god getting to top 500 in a year but I know my console ass would be hard stuck plat if I switched to PC
I had been stuck in bronze since season 2 of overwatch(the original), but this season I got into gold 4 and worked my way up to gold 3
Congrats hope you make it to plat soon
That's great! Progress is progress no matter if it takes years or months!
yo this is fucking awesome fr congrats
Wow this is my Winston exactly.. the problem is awareness.. you can't teach that.. it's just a lack of information processed in a moment..
I think I understand his mentality. There are some games where I will literally bubble on cooldown, its usually due the fear of being shred by dogtier dps like reaper and torb who can just sit and blast in your face while your zap gun does 10 dmg to them
If there is a reaper in your face as winston maybe you're in the wrong spot
The trick is to always be the one who is picking what fights to take. Don't let your enemy make that decision. But yeah, don't fight your hard counters on their terms😅
@@JugsMcNastyIt’s why I’m never afraid of a bad Bastion as Winston. I’m just not gonna take open 1v1s against Bastion/Reaper when I could harass the back line or other DPS instead.

Damn I miss that voice line!
I mean, not in the game we watched!
He needs to dump his mercy main gf and find an Ana gilf to pocket him
Blue team kiriko trying to dodge blue team diva bomb is killing me
Someone has to count how many times he said bubble in the video 💀
I feel like someone told him to use bubble off cooldown cause that’s what he did the whole game. Didn’t matter about jump, just when it was available
I like to imagine that he's hitting the button all the time and we just only see it work the moment it comes off cooldown
@@claudiuspulcher2440 🤣 i think this actually is the best answer. he cant climb because his fingers just to tired
This play style is worse than the jubble honestly, they are bubbling before they even jump. I have climbed 3 ranks in gold this season after being hardstuck silver 1/gold 5 before, and i am realizing the jubble only works on a solo/duo target if the team doesn’t peel. Otherwise, be smart/patient with bubbles and it’s so easy to climb
Yeah, that's obvious at the most basical level, but how do you decide on when you _should_ use your bubble? Might as well completely abandon this ability then, being afraid it's never time. And monkey has 2 basic abilities, so you basically half-lock your character..
Genuinely asking, bc I enjoy winstoning in qp but not sure if he's viable at all in low rank comp games because of these nuances.
These are seemingly very simple questions, yet they might really stagger a new player. If using bubble to survive is a cheesy way to compensate for bad positioning and lack of awareness, then you can always just jump around.
It’s always so weird watching bronze players. To see them LITERALLY do so many things that are just sooooo… whaaaat!?!😂😂
You realize that every level says that about people below them. Plat players look at gold & silver and say the same thing. Diamond about plat......masters about diamond.
Seriously, unless you're in the top 500.....someone in a higher elo is looking at your game play and laughing.

I stand by my comment
saying this as kindly as possible since youtube commenters have no idea how to be constructive when it comes to talking about people playing mercy: having your girlfriend play with you/this playstyle is genuinely a hinderance to your improvement as a player. not only is the pocket encouraging bad play making, it is completely taking away an entire healer from the rest of your team as well as any utility mercy damage boost could have provided to your dps players. this game absolutely should not have been nearly as close as it was with the way the enemy dps were playing, throwing themselves at your team on cooldown. if u wanna have fun and play ow with your gf, play qp/arcade. if you genuinely want to play competitively and improve, play solo. you need to learn to play without a pocket and your girlfriend needs to learn to play as a team player. once that happens, you can try playing competitively together again (and i truly hope you do! i dont think either of you do this on purpose and its just a bad habit, probably leftover from ow1 when it was viable, if you both played for that long).
this i feel fine being rude about: stop emoting before a round is over. it is weird, unnecessarily self congratulatory when you just barely won and EASILY would have lost the game had they killed you during the emote. just wait the 2.5 seconds until the round is over.
5:20 Emongg explains season one of OW2 for all tank players. Not having an off tank to help changed the way a lot of people had to play tank. Sadly, many supports and damage players haven't learned how to play without an off tank yet.
My favorite thing about bronze is once person ults, it always sets off an ultimate chain reaction where everyone ults
So...maybe have your mercy do their job is step one...her being on you is the dumbest shit
me and my pet monkey
He used the drawing board thing like 2 times and never did it again, it was cool seeing his drawing of what he was talking about
I had a hard time climbing out of bronze because I only ever got like 10-15% per win/loss but 6 years of bronze is in fact crazy
Gank Plank Gallion is such a pull in song choice. Love it
A pocket is a very bad habit to have esp as winston. Im a diamond winston and after a game where my random supps are amazing i mean an ana 50 meters away viewing the whole team fight making sure i dont die and get those nanos my very next game i get those same expectations form the new random supps which screw me over. Also I dont know how one could also consistently duo with a mercy main as winston or hell tank in general. It can work but you need to vet the other supp as main heals. Did it once my friend kept dmg boosting me and went in on dives with me when it works it WOOOOORKS and i mean i feel like im on crack winston dmg boosted is the best feeling in the game all 5 dying infront of me with no counterplay. but that also makes mercy put in such bad situations that a lot of times its best not to.
is his finger just hovering over the E key or something? just constantly waiting for his cooldown to reset?
bubble usage is the least of his problems. they start to panic as soon as they take damage. not a single short jump in this entire vod. he misses so much damage by over-shooting his jumps he rarely lands on anyone. doesn't set up on high ground, when they did use high ground it was the wrong high ground too far away. Not enough right-click poke damage - oh, and he keeps mistaking the torb on his own team for the enemy torb. so many things are keeping this person in bronze. Also - if you want to get better and climb out of bronze, stop queueing with your bronze mercy pocket.
5:00 he don't know the different jumps, W+Shift or S+Shift for example
The minute I heard "pocket", makes me realize why him and his gf are hardstruck bronze. like MERCYS SHOULDN'T POCKET TANKS MAN COME ON
so many times i watch a dps continue peeking at low hp when they didnt need to because I was reloading or my tank needs heals more urgently than the dps that can safely not peek for a moment. Just used to being pocketed
"Don't Winston ult.... "
"I would have done the same thing."
You sure about that? Doesn't seem like you would have based off initial response.
Winston has such a bubbly personality
I think that the mercy pocket is hurting more than helping cause mercy is supposed to enhance dps game play and she was to busy pocketing u (and Winston is a horrible character to pocket) instead of the sojourn on ur team (one of if not the best hero’s to pocket) so mercy shouldn’t be dmg boosting u (unless she has not other options (sombra tracer) but even if that happens she should just swap)
At the end there his leap was up and could have avoided the deva ult by jumping upwards towards the roofs corner
Im a causal overwatch player and had a rough go like idk a yearish ago and plummeted from high plat to like silver 3 and was stck there for a bit it was so strange in silver lmao i couldnt imagine being even lower than that and being their for more than half a decade 😂
I hate mercy players that pocket the tank. Before season 9 it was annoying but now it just feels like throwing. If you wanna pocket your tank, pick Ana or something
You gotta go back there and make her move around lol
honestly in bronze it literally doesn’t matter. as long as the mercy stays alive and goes for a safe rez that’s enough to carry out of bronze. good healing is pretty useful up until gold at least on mercy.
but i as a masters mercy will often mainly damage boost the tank when i dont have any good targets besides them. jq and zar are very good blue beam targets
This is the video I needed. Ggs to the player, but I had a great laugh
Something that could help this tank ALOT is playing without his GF or ask her to play different hero
I don’t play competitive yet. Been playing only 3 weeks, so I have some more learning to do. I think I found my go to heroes, but I still need to try a few.
Good luck. It’s a fun game. Just take a break whenever you are feeling stressed.
Who is your go to hero?
@@vanessaoftheundead2613 Typically Sombra if I am damage, and Moira or Mercy depending on the map or what’s taken if I am support. I’m not good at tank, so I mainly just ignore it.
Try junk if you like Sombra and Moira. He's fast paced but fun when you get the hang of him. My wife just picked him up randomly and loves him
I suggest mystery heros so you get a try for every hero and do that for a few days until you get around to all characters. Then practice your mains and consume some good content on fundamentals.
I would love to see the amount of dmg mit that the winston had at the end
Dude might as well have a line of code so it auto-bubbles him
As a masters Winston. This is not as bad as I thought it would be. This person would probably be gold if they stopped bubbling off cooldown.
can we get a count for how many times "bubble" was said in this video
He never give up I appreciate it
Damn and I thought my 3 years of bronze on all roles was impressive (or not impressive depending on how you look at it). I believe in both of us eventually being able to get past silver 4 because that’s also my peak.
Incels in chat were rage-typing "ditch the gf" before the match even began 😂
Don't default to defending yourself with bubble. Defend yourself with walls and terrain. Deny them kills with the bubble. Wanna see someone screw up, enable an ally to get away with 1hp. Also wintons mobility goes a long way to keep healing pressure off your supports, you can break line of sight and steal the enemy teams big health pack, with just shift.
hes using his bubble because he doesnt use natural cover, otherwise his positioning is pretty good
My season high was Gold on Tank so it's possible to climb out of bronze, My dps and support roles are both in silver and almost near to gold.
He kinda answered his own question “Playing on and off” not gonna work for Overwatch Comp 😂
Bruh it took me 30 hours to get to silver just brute forcing my way out as a dps
The healing passive is OK, but I'm still in the opinion of its not good for the game. I think it teaches players who think less to not heal.
it also really enables bad flanking. Tracers, sombras and genjis who no longer feel the need to have any healthpack awareness because they know there's a self-heal. Sure, it's a trap because it increases their downtime- but that doesn't make the game feel better when you're in an overtime teamfight and you see your genji crouched behind a wall waiting for his self heal
I love pressing buttons as well, but he does it a lil much.
I see awful duos all the time, and one pocketing the other, and you just know they live together and thats why they're getting all the heals, bc its gonna be a domestic if they dont😂😂
It feels illegal to be this early
What a treat!
why would it feel illegal hello
Idk if I should be glad or sad to know that he isn't the only one hardstuck for 6 years. I still haven't gotten out of silver since season 2 of OW1 lmao. I just am not meant to play games
It’s okay, I know someone like this. I think sometimes people try to do too much when all you need to do is get the basics right
I'M PISSED OFF BY THIS
HELLO PISSED OFF BY THIS, IM DAD
Some people just need to accept the fact that they are NOT GOOD. It's OKAY to not be good at a video game. Just have fun amd be bad at that point.
If you've been Bronze for 6 yrs... You're just not gonna be good. ha
Alright, in the off chance that the owner of this VOD reads any of the RUclips comments, I've gotta say it:
1. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick up health packs. There were so many times when you were like 4 steps away from a mega and had like 150 health and you just went "Nah, I don't want that. Maybe the enemy can use it."
2. You are the TANK player. You need to understand that in this game mode you should be contesting the point. There are many times where you are full health and have both cooldowns and you just watch the enemy team full cap point while you shoot right clicks at them trying to tickle them to death.
3. Stop emoting. You are not him. If you have to be toxic towards the enemy team, just spam voice lines or something rather than animation locking your hero, lol.
4. Try your best to be more observant. I saw so many times this game where you got a few kills when your team went in and then your brain just shut off. It doesn't matter if you think you did a good job or made a sick play throwing 2 people off the cliff. You need to help with cleanup. Get that last Moira who just used fade (Perfect dive target for a jump, btw). Go kill the Torb turret that is about to kill your support player. **The fight isn't over until it is quiet.**
Emote after you see victory is fine since you have like 5-10s after the game ends. You could do what I do and just say hello
*Or maybe try not being toxic
**Especially as a bronze hardstuck
@@cookiedoodle5582 Yeah, there's always this. But some people get on the internet for exclusively this reason so... I'm just focused on gameplay, lol.
Real question to anyone with a legitimate answer, including emongg. I'm not like masters, low plat high gold, depending on the day and some solo queue luck. Does any other level experience the phenomenon of "the better i play as a supp, the more my team does dumb shit"? Like if ur tank over extends and u save them, they take that as a license to just trry to push up to spawn like a dumbass? It isnt limited to tanks of course. I frequently feel like the better i play as a support, the better i HAVE to play coz my team just loses whatever last braincell was holding them together and assumes i can make them immortal.
Gm support here, start doing more dmg, welcome to diamond at least. Blue team tank can’t take more damage if red team is all dead.
His girlfriend is a real one
is bronze rank really like this?? for someone who has never played rank im pretty confident i'm not a bronze player lmao
Bronze on console is pretty low level. Most fps players could make it out with aim alone unlike pc. My games in gold felt like these videos of bronze 1 on pc
It can be like this. Sometimes it's not when you got smurfs and other nonsense. It's a mixed bag. I do wish whenever I play dps I don't get so many leavers. For some reason it's like a 50 50 if I get a leaver on dps. On tank or support it's more rare like 1 out of 6 to 10 games.
In my experience, bronze competitive is comprised by people who are just starting to learn the game. There’s also a lot of trolls or leavers as well, so this is actually a good bronze game. Bronze is really not people that play regularly. Gold is like an “average”player. I had never played ow before and got placed into mid-silver with the worst Mercy play (and also quickly fell to bronze when not knowing the maps at all, falling off, being right in middle of line of sight etc. having no idea what abilities or main use cases the characters have. After playing few weeks I was a solid silver. (For console, supposedly pc is much harder).
how the hell do you even play a game for 6 years straight and dont learn anything
Do all overwatch players get a girlfriend just so they can pocket them?
No hate to this person, but how can you be stuck in bronze for 6 years? I started playing overwatch like 2 years ago and im plat/gold on console, so its kinda confusing, but maybe ur just stuck in elo hell😅 cus ur gameplay isn't that bad in my opinion.
Mechanics are fine. Bubble usage is terribad.
Overwatchev, if you see this cmt. I want to tell you that you dont really need to watch pro player or ult tracking and just try to have fun somehow while trying varieties things
Emongg, I've been having some trouble on hog. I've played comp, but I go nowhere, so I just get better with qp. If u could maybe see what I've been doing wrong, and why I'm so bad at comp, I'd be very happy. I am open for criticism, and I if you could maybe give me some tips, I'd appreciate it. I don't know how to send a replay, so if you can tell me how, that'd be good. have a good one!

what gives you that idea?
Rude. Your comment is completely unnecessary and you know it.
@tiio6883 i mean hes out of line but hes right. After 6 years your brain should naturally be able to be like oh thats not right i shouldnt do that. Plus after 6 years your basic mechanics should improve naturally. Not saying you'll be a god but just having somewhat decent aim will get you out of bronze. Its genuinely puzzling how someone can be stuck in the lowest rank for 6 years.
@@AngrySecs So you think he is right, that the player is disabled in a mean way? Ok, you do you. Still rude and unneccessary.
And just to be clear, not only they said they played on and off (which explains the little ups and downs) but they said they climbed up to silver 4 so yeah, they technically climbed out of bronze. "stuck in bronze for 6 years" sounds good for a title, don't fall for it tho
Well, his first mistake is playing Overwatch console...
What confuses me the most, if you upload a game for review, you must watch the spectator videos, so how can you watch the spectator videos and not fix basic mistakes and get to at least gold.
