This guy not swapping would have drove me crazy if i was on his team. Its not that he was playing bad. More that they were making it harder than necessary on their teammates
Sometimes I wonder if emongg just wants to watch without pointing out major mistakes or often doesnt see the misplays, like at 3:24 where he says good ult despite it being very bad. There was no need to push and use ults there. You qre pushing the payload, you got all the space, what do you gain IF you kill the kiri but have to use ult for it? The objective would move just as much. Rule of thumb, dont use your ult when you are pushing the point and the enemy doesnt have the positional advantage
i dropped from plat to silver. im not even grinding anymore bcs it seems like system is broken it wasnt that hard to climb back in OW1, literally every game its a dc or a troll and even if you are play and stay alive w the team - 1 death is all u need to lose last fight and a match. i lietrally have no motivation to play ranked anymore bcs loses hurt more. u can win few games and then u lose 2 and all ur progress literally was meaningles.. not talking about how stressfull is to play dps in metal ranks. i have no such problem on tank and supp bcs i know target priority and can survive much longer than i do as dps bcs no supp will heal u on silver or gold rank, no tank knows what space is
Once our tank was so good and it turned out to be a problem as we win the point and then he pushes in where I can't heal him. If I don't try to save him we die and if I do, I die....
This title for the video. Did sound like he has fallen down slot of ranks. Last time I did check top 500 it was in the master rank or is it in gm now. One thing that make me nervous is that he is late to the start of the round in defense.
List of characters that counter rein: non-melee heroes and only if the melee heroes are not ulting/getting healed. if you stay away from his charge and hammer, you basicly win. kiting a rein isn't too hard which is why we have to be extra careful. the idea behind his kit is "if you give him more damage, then when people are just so happen to group up for some reason in a neat little package, he can kill the entire team in 6 seconds or so." which by the way, if they are that close together there are seriously way better options and heroes for the job.
Top 500 is just that, the 500 highest ranked players on a role within a region. The skill tiers or ranks that makes up top 500 though are a huge range, ranging anywhere from Champion to low Masters and in some cases, high Diamond.
The rank reset ruined the ranks so now masters is a mix of master to top500 while GM+ is top500. Diamond is masters. I have no idea where the diamond players are. Metal ranks are the same.
@@srikrishnabhat6793 if that’s true then I’m just going to start telling people I’ve reached masters now cause I got to diamond 1 in season 9 and then the game was putting me in games with GM and top500 players and I went on a loss streak.
His Winston is good. But because its too good so enemy will swap counter to make his value become 0. I think he need to play other tanks (Mauga, Hog, Zarya) in order to climb back to GM. 1 trick in OW as tank is very misrable right now because of 5v5 instead of 6v6. He can be T500 in OW1 because other tank will help him when he meet his counter but in OW2 there is no other tank in the team. TLDR: bring back 6v6
They got rid of 6v6 for a reason. Not enough people want to play tank to keep reasonable queue times. This problem is worse now since players like myself who joined after the change to 5v5 are used to tank being the experience that it is now. Plus we have to consider how different tanks have been changed since OW2 came out. I wouldn't want to fight a team that has current Orisa AND Mauga while still having 2 DPS and 2 supports. TLDR: the return of 6v6 would make tank less miserable to play but it would take too long for people to get into games. And Mauga/Orisa would be on the same team.
Bro, thank you for mentioning this. I was losing my mind watching this guy play and emongg saying everything was fine. I too was once a top 500 main tank in OW1 but rather than falling off, I naturally quit a year or 2 before OW2 and only recently got back into it as a qp warrior. I know the game has changed since my last competitive days but this guy can definitely play better with very simple changes. This winston clearly understands on a macro level what he should prioritize (like clearing high ground) but loses so much value on the fine details. He rarely if ever gets good value on his abilities. 1)He consistently bubbles too early which leads to him leaving his bubble behind or being completely ignored as it's entirely out of the way. Bubbling at full health is almost never max value because it means there's no damage, healing, or abilities for bubble to block and take valuable space. 2) While he understands the different jumps, cancels, and combos his planning and placement of jumps is poor. The best jump is one that places you in their retreat route as it heightens your chance of securing a kill. To do this consistently you need to plan things out which is why his first nano play fizzles out, he wasted jump getting to a door he could have walked to before nano and then didn't have it to engage for max value once he got in the door. 3) His ults are generally okay and Winston ult can be very inconsistent with kills even when done well but his target selection is poor (Don't focus the tank) and he pops it raw instead of making an aggressive play pre-ult and using primal for the free health and to secure kills. All in all I'd say this guy plays too passive and careful at times leading to low value despite identifying the right play. A great example is when he's holding the building on first point, the entire enemy team is clustered on the stairs, and instead of pushing up, placing a bubble and zapping their brains out, he stand back and preemptively bubbles in hops they'll push him and gets no value until reaper walks at him halfway through his bubble timer. Ultimately though, as far as the rounds after where he gets countered you do just need to swap sometimes. This is not OW1 like he and I used to play where there was always ways around counters, in OW2 counters can be pretty hard and absolute so expanding to dva is a good choice
I can't imagine why you'd wanna be a one or two-trick in Ranked. Every hero is fun as hell in the right environment and if you aren't picking optimally, somebody else will. Recognizing a good time to swap is absolutely a skill, and playing a large pool of heroes well is blatantly indicative of that.
I agree. It's fun playing a few different heroes. I got at least 3 or 4 tanks and dps I play often depending on the comp and also for fun. I think support is the only one where I almost one trick as brig whom I really like to play as. I do play some ana, zen, moira, or kirko but not nearly as proficient on them, sadly.
@commentbot9510 I find it funny to occasionally play zarya, rein and jq. Ram I do but he's not having a good time lately so it feels not so fun on him.

MvC2: New Age of Heroes. Someone has refined taste. 🧐
What in the flats do we have here?
Man this makes me feel better than I’m a low diamond tank.
Honestly, he wasn't that good if he over commits like that, you did the correct thing by not going after him that far
This title for the video. Did sound like he has fallen down slot of ranks. Last time I did check top 500 it was in the master rank or is it in gm now.
One thing that make me nervous is that he is late to the start of the round in defense.
I think your referring to flats last season
List of characters that counter rein: non-melee heroes and only if the melee heroes are not ulting/getting healed.
if you stay away from his charge and hammer, you basicly win. kiting a rein isn't too hard which is why we have to be extra careful.
the idea behind his kit is "if you give him more damage, then when people are just so happen to group up for some reason in a neat little package, he can kill the entire team in 6 seconds or so." which by the way, if they are that close together there are seriously way better options and heroes for the job.
top 500 rn is like high diamond low masters, it's not like season 8 WOW he fell from GM1 to diamond 4 🤣
Which role, that sounds more like DPS?
But he was GM and top 500 and fell
Can someone explain the ranks like is top 500 champion now?? I know that a dumb question but I’m curious
Top 500 is just that, the 500 highest ranked players on a role within a region. The skill tiers or ranks that makes up top 500 though are a huge range, ranging anywhere from Champion to low Masters and in some cases, high Diamond.
@@srikrishnabhat6793 ohh okay tyyyy
The rank reset ruined the ranks so now masters is a mix of master to top500 while GM+ is top500. Diamond is masters. I have no idea where the diamond players are. Metal ranks are the same.
Former diamonds are high plat now.
How was that fine what he was doing at the start? He was using his bubbles on cooldown in random spaces and then jumped without one
It looks like better gameplay than whatever the hell I do and a top 500 tank player saying it’s fine most likely means it’s fine lol
@@justsomeoneelse5942 that’s just cope
@@mitchellcarroll3801 Great analysis! He should pay you to review his VODs 😂
U kinda did your own thing up there..... Get 65% ult when his dps 20% -_-. Hello, don't pay for that
Who else was looking at their task bar to figure out what connected? @7:28
Day 05 of asking emongg to :OIL UP FOR RAMATTRA
I one trick because I do genuinely only have fun playing one tank. I've tried other tanks and it's just meh
I can’t imagine enjoying your time playing any tank other than best girl (dva)
@commentbot9510 I find it funny to occasionally play zarya, rein and jq. Ram I do but he's not having a good time lately so it feels not so fun on him.
@@ianchambers37 as long as you’re having fun. People should be allowed to play whatever character they want without the enemy pressing H and ruining the game for them.
He dropped to my rank RIP we not climbing with this one
Isn’t Winston one of the strongest tanks right now and one of the top picks in top500? Even Reaper doesn’t "counter" him anymore. What is bro waffling about?
ALRIGHT SO!!
Stay away from ranked much better for your mental health
Winton
this is epic overwatch
ALRIGHT SO
Just play Mauga against Hog and you will dominate
loses-ton
woah accidentally early! let's see it
Holy... This game doesn't look fun at all anymore..
Dude wants to rank up to a high level yet is barely out of spawn in time to defend the choke.
What is up with ur hair brother
What is up with this weird comment bro, we're here for ow gameplay not immaculate hairdos 😂
You leave his hair brother out of this, it's a condition!
Lol, the hair is awesome. It's like a support character. 😂
Alright so!
