this kiri was honestly really good, fun to watch! to me, i could tell that they were healbotting with a purpose, rather than just not being able to balance between damage and healing output like a lot of supports do. it was a conscious decision which massively helped, and they knew when to split it up - this was just one game outta tons! honestly, hope this person submits smth for the 'where are they now' series in a few months, cos i could see them climbing!
14:17 I’ve had a Rein do this exact same thing to me, he dashed off the point in overtime when the enemy team had less than 2 meters to cap for the win. I had to TP away because I was now alone on point in a 1v4 and needed to stay alive, I was hoping one of my other teammates could touch. He had the audacity to say “nice c9” to me in the chat…🙃
As a Kiri main, it was refreshing to hear that sometimes damage just isn’t possible when your team just takes SO much damage. I’m always scared that I’m healbotting but I really don’t want my team to just die
Yeah the only thing I would say is that you can throw two kunai between the healing ofuda but the fact of the matter is that to do that you'll have to take your crosshair off your team and that small bit of time needed to aim can make the difference between a teammate living or dying. I don't blame this Kiri at all for just focusing heals and praying their team gets their shit together
I think a cool thing that Zens orb can do to make him feel more reliable with healing is either giving the person with orb a small damage reduction or gets a bonus to healing when being healed, extra healing.
Ugh, there's little the irritates me more in this game than teammates pushing up further than they need to and past logical choke points when the game is down to seconds left, and making what should be the last fight into a 4v5 or possibly worse. Made worse if they end up yelling at their team for not being up there with them or something when they had no reason to be that deep into enemy territory to begin with.
i'm pretty sure this Rein is the cinematic blonde Rein from the lore. The one when Balderich von Adler (his mentor) begs him: "be their shield" before his death defending Eichenwalde. It's to damn rekless
Yes and No -Yes as in the team could have used more healing or utility to stay alive -No because it s everybody's job not to take a metric ton of damage, especially the shear amount of unnecessary poke damage while you have a Zenyetta.
I agree Zen should've swapped but not to Bap. Maybe a Lucio for attack? Zen on defence is pretty good. Then a swap to Moira at last point hold. The amount of healing and utility to those last few fights would've been pretty immense. Not saying they played poorly, though.
@@SimplyDroog But mostly yes because you can only control yourself, not your teammates. So if you're team is taking a metric shitton of damage and will continue to do so, the onus is on you to switch if you want to maximize your chances of winning. I guarantee with a Bap or Ana their potential for victory would skyrocket this game. Granted I'm not blaming the support for not switching, more-so saying that sometimes you gotta make the sacrifice if you want to win over all else.
@@bruhvenant Fair enough, I agree that swapping increased his odds but I also understand his dilemma, that being that his was playing his role as Zen well as far as I could see( wasn't focused on him). So in his mind it would be " I m excelling in what I m supposed to do, so if you stopping being stupid we would easily win this. Why do I have to fit my playstyle around them who don t know what they are doing and not the other way around ?" And btw, short of playing Lifeweaver ( or maybe Lucio), most of those overly aggressive tankplays would have resulted in a 5v4 either way unfortunately. I would have swapped to LW and pulled him back to at least have a meat shield Infront of my DPS .
I've run into alot of reins like that while playing support in the metal ranks... they are crazy and they get away with just enough that if you desperately trying to keep them up they get in the shatters you need to win lol... sometimes they just feed their brains out tho, its a mixed bag
this kiri did what they could. honestly they were able to do some damage still but their team set them up for healbotting. I often tell my teammates “I can’t out heal this, please find cover. I’m healbotting and we’re not getting the value we need” and we switch it up and it works out. this kiri was PHENOMENAL and I love them for doing their best.
As a support main, I find myself healbotting like crazy. Not because I want to, but because I have to. Especially in metal ranks, I’ve been stuck Bronze healbotting for people who don’t bother on positioning, or backing away when low, etc. I’m just stuck babysitting. It’s not our preference, we are forced to do so. Especially when our other supports is a low heal support (Though I’m not saying don’t play Zen or Mercy, I’m saying that in comp you have to understand you won’t always be able to play what you want, especially in situations like this where Kiri was struggling to keep the whole team up)
This is most of my games in silver. Can’t get value out of kiri because my teammates are taking crazy damage. So, I switch to Lucio or illiari and focus on dps/kills.
Ah yes, the rush into enemy spawn to die when the game is IN OUR FAVOR. Ive lost so many games this way and its infuriating because theres literally nothing you can do. People don't understand that just because theres 10-15 seconds left, doesnt mean we CANT lose the game. I hate it so much! Had rein just held the doorway and shattered, instead of being greedy and extending, imagine the amazing feel of that win. Poor kiri.
people gotta stop crying about the dmg and off angles as if thats the only thing you should do on support, play dynamically and use your brain to make the best out of the situation/team comp/playstyle rather than default to autopilot
Emongg: i can see why they had to healbot, everyone's taking too much damage Chat: WHY AREN'T THEY DAMAGING???????? UGH SHE NEEDS TO STOP HEALBOTTING!!!!!!! Emongg: I'm going to say this one more time-
Change my mind i honestly enjoy playing with aggressive tanks like this. Especially when I was in metal ranks. This rein needs to learn to sit for a second and play cover but this play style is a million times better than a sheild bot rein or someone too afraid to try and make a play. It might be because I'm an aggressive player so I enjoy having the front line pressure with me. Overwatch isn't a heavy mechanical skill game in comparison to other games but if you're team has better mechanical skill you'll win 70% of the time and a 70% win rate is far higher than most peoples
I will always be pulling attention with kiri elsewhere. You can't out heal that much damage period but if you distract a couple damage dealers/support there is way more pressure on the enemy and less damage on the tank period. It isn't about doing damage vs healbotting but about controlling as much attention as possible with a duel (even if you don't win and need to peace out).
the kiri wasnt bad tbh. theyre in a spot where they have to heal bot more than they'd probably like to but nonetheless my biggest tissues were the cd usage (not ults they let that blast instead of saving it w no plan which I like.) cleanse could've been saved and tp coulda been spammed more. Although my biggest issue is them attempting to escape every time. They got away with it but honestly they're plat 3 just 3 more ranks and they're not getting away with it at all and will be staggered n punished. especially the mauga ult if your team is trapped or even 2 people GET IN THERE. if its a loss in your mind instead of escaping get in there die with team don't stagger or maybe and just maybe win that fight.
im the kiri in the video. normally i can guage if i can escape or not and i do let them kill me if i can tell its better to reset. this was just one game and the enemy team just happened to be non-committal with chasing
What I always tell tanks that soak up damage and complain that they don't get the heals they need is; if you have Supports that are good enough to bail you out of situations like that with their healing (like the Kiriko in this vid does), then imagine how much BETTER they'd do if you also minimized the damage you took in the first place. Not only would you do better in teams with with poorer Supports, but teams with great Supports that don't need to cover your ass 24/7 will get so much more value out of their kit, and could cover the rest of the team better.
I had a quick play game with a Zarya where she just kept pushing into the other team without waiting for our dps. Even when she would happen to roll out with the rest of us, she was overextending horrendously. I was duo'd with the other support and it literally took both of us healing only her at the same time to keep her from falling over half the time. Another time in the fight, I got the 'You saved Zarya' ping three times in a row just keeping my healing beam on her while she stood in front of the enemy team taking damage, seemingly blissfully unaware she was inches from death the whole time. We somehow managed to win the game, and she had the audacity to brag about her stats after. We should have just let her die tbh but hey, we won.
I think the rein was trying to shatter in spawn to slow them down and not give them time to touch point. In that case, I think Kiriko should have committed and teleported to the rein. At the very least that shatter and a pin after could have gotten one or two people (ideally the supports).
the commnity NEEDS to heal from the brainrot of perma dpsing supports ISTG. the amount of people saying do damage is insane. what is a kiriko going to 1v5 against that team if she didnt heal them? unranked to GMs perma dmg carry only work because you know who is smurfing against much lower player Elos when you are actually playing people at the same skill level you ave to sustain your team

In my opinion that rein did throw ONLY cause the play didn’t work. Like if that play works they 100% dont touch point. But when its a all or nothing play like that when u have the option to just defend point it is throwing but i do see what rein tried. But when u baby ur tanks like that they get way too confortable feeding thats why sometimes u have to let them walk back from spawn even if u could 100% save them. Sometimes u need to let them die and hopefully they learn.
That kiriko played pretty well. Based on this comment section the twitch chat was saying that they should dmg more???? What else could you do in that situation without losing the game from the start. Healing even a little bit less means the rein explodes every 30 seconds. That rein is lucky he didnt get someone like me who only plays lucio in ranked (who is pretty terrible at healing tanks) I would not want to have to sit and heal a single person for the whole game, but it is necessary to win some games.
i love good heals, BUT IM HARD STUCK IN SILVER FOR DPS, and ive met supports who play WAAAY back and hide behind buildings and do nothing but heal 😭. it’d be different if they engaged in team fights and didnt run away, but that wasnt the case
Honestly I’d kill for a Kiri that good in my games. Good dmg in the FEW instances they could. Insane heals and good positioning and timing for the most part.
if your supports have ridiculously high healing it only means one of three things: 1. the game lasted very long 2. your team is feeding like crazy 3. the enemy is doing way more dmg and you're not doing enough none of which are good and means your team is underperforming, esp for 2 and 3
TBH I was gold/plat in OW1. In OW2 I have been from bronze 5 to Daimond 2 in support. (I blame the weird SR system they have for that) I feel like I do worse in bronze lobbies. Sometimes I honestly don't know what to do. Sometimes you can pop off and just dps the enemy team as Lucio or Moira but as a single support sometimes that is hard even in really low ranking games. So often you are stuck just hard healing the whole match. And any idiot from bronze to GM can just spam kiriko heals into the tank for 20 minutes. Its not true elo hell but it is crazy that games that that happen. I had myself believing that I was washed and belonged in bronze for a bit because that was the rank that was the hardest to climb out of in support. Once I hit silver it got easier and once I hit gold it was smooth sailing.
As a gold tank player I understand the adrenaline rush of wanting to go aggro, but there are times where you just have to shelve your ego and play the long con. Cover and disengaging when necessary and maybe even switching to make it a less stressful match. This tank took a huge L.

@@wasabebo8334 also I know you made this comment because you’re desperate to brag about your success in climbing in ranked so, good job sweetheart. You’re a really high rank in a video game and we are all very proud of you.
The reason i stopped playing support is that most of the time it's just glorified babysitting
Then stop healbotting.
@@azseal2669 did you not watch the video?
@@azseal2669 i think the point of this comment flew over your head
@@azseal2669i’m sure that you are the same one who screams at their support if they didn’t heal them
Rein only knew one thing. Charge forward. Kiriko didn't even have any chance to throw a kunai. If anything I would've asked the Zen to go Ana but that's about it
5:47 in Mirrorwatch, both of Zenyatta's Orbs did more when you headshoted someone, healing orb did a burst of heal
could be a good idea
this kiri was honestly really good, fun to watch! to me, i could tell that they were healbotting with a purpose, rather than just not being able to balance between damage and healing output like a lot of supports do. it was a conscious decision which massively helped, and they knew when to split it up - this was just one game outta tons!
honestly, hope this person submits smth for the 'where are they now' series in a few months, cos i could see them climbing!
They had Kitsune so many times that one bad one is a little bit excusable.
Emogg: good job
Rein: if i do say so my self
Gata love a cracked rein
This is the kinda Rein I get in my Quickplay games JFC. . .someone really should have went Weaver on this man.
that's me in QP on Rein. sorry, but his voice lines are just too fun to spam and w key :D
@@lawliot my apologies but you are the reason I learned Weaver tbh lol.
Honestly with the amount of damage the team was taking and the way this rein played, they desperately needed a weaver tbh
oh no… i’ve only seen the title and i’m already filled with so much pain…
after watching im now going to ask for a moment of silence for this kiriko
I KNOW this kiriko was hurting lmao
There's one thing to remember:
AALRIGHT SOOO!
Without this, games are basically unwinnable and I've seen many not apply this philosophy and lose.
When I saw thumbnail "HEAL BOT KIRI HEAL BOT KIRI". Then i see zen with Rein in Circuit, "my bad, for saying that".
Emongg you're such a nice guy. Like watching your videos make me feel happy, I'm not entirely sure why though I hope you keep being you brother!
Life grip was created with this Rein in mind
Nooo why the Rein did that at the end, this is actually sad
I love the way emong handles chat being a dick lol
This made me so sad. I play all roles but mostly support, I’ve had way too many games like this
Had to check to make sure I wasn't the rein for most of the game
i'm pretty sure this Rein is the cinematic blonde Rein from the lore. The one when Balderich von Adler (his mentor) begs him: "be their shield" before his death defending Eichenwalde.
It's to damn rekless
Zen should've swapped to bap or smthn
Yes and No
-Yes as in the team could have used more healing or utility to stay alive
-No because it s everybody's job not to take a metric ton of damage, especially the shear amount of unnecessary poke damage while you have a Zenyetta.
best would be ana for mauga to stop heal
Why do I have to fit my playstyle around them who don t know what they are doing and not the other way around ?"
And btw, short of playing Lifeweaver ( or maybe Lucio), most of those overly aggressive tankplays would have resulted in a 5v4 either way unfortunately.
ALRIGHT SO!
the facepalm I facepalmed at the Rein extending out for the shatter... just to be killed... oh god
So, I switch to Lucio or illiari and focus on dps/kills.
are you still silver
@@haunted.h4art been silver since last few weeks. Shuffling between 3-5. But this is my first time in silver so, all good.
@@gary64864 if you wanna focus on dps/kills you should play zen, he helped me climb to plat, hes def really good in lower ranks imo
I think seeing how fast they were building Kitsune is a great indicator of how effective their heal botting was
No, YOU have an amazing day slash night, Mr. Emongg.... if that IS your REAL name.
😂
This is a typical game for supports to go through
Ah yes, the rush into enemy spawn to die when the game is IN OUR FAVOR. Poor kiri.
people gotta stop crying about the dmg and off angles as if thats the only thing you should do on support, play dynamically and use your brain to make the best out of the situation/team comp/playstyle rather than default to autopilot
i've never seen someone throw SO hard. i would say "what was he thinking?" but clearly he wasn't
NOT THE DESPERATE SUZU! I feel your pain kiri
that reins throw play at the end has ruined my day
That rein throw at the very end
This rein couldn’t throw harder
bro saw one Antoncoco video and started queuing tank lmao
As the mighty poko said "if you play to support trash players then you are trash"
Dont think he understands low ranks
I've def had games like this where they make me the kiri a healbot and i basically have to use suzus just as additional heals
I also have a problem with heal boting especially as Mercy. But I think the Kiri did well in certain situations, but I understand the frustration.
Mercy won't survive in this meta for much longer. Hope you have some other favourite picks.
@@allstar4065 oh I know. I’m only good at Mercy and Lucio. I’m only good at the other supports during event games.
Poor Rein just wants to play Rein but then is met with a Mauga/Bastion/Ana :(
Emongg: i can see why they had to healbot, everyone's taking too much damage
Chat: WHY AREN'T THEY DAMAGING???????? UGH SHE NEEDS TO STOP HEALBOTTING!!!!!!!
Emongg: I'm going to say this one more time-
I can definitely look outward for blame because i critique my own gameplay as I’m playing and trying to fix my shortfalls each map rotation.
I believe Rein was in a losing streak and decided to play while being clouded by frustration and anger
As a one trick player for rein, this is excruciatingly painful to watch and I'm only in gold rank.
that rien was playing like he was still in goats meta
“Too much healing bad”
Dies while your doing damage “where are the heals? There’s no healing you aren’t dps”
the kiri wasnt bad tbh. theyre in a spot where they have to heal bot more than they'd probably like to but nonetheless my biggest tissues were the cd usage (not ults they let that blast instead of saving it w no plan which I like.) cleanse could've been saved and tp coulda been spammed more.
I'm here before the bots!
Ayo!

Had a tank once tell me when i asked them to take cover "I'm the tank. It's my job to tank damage" ...like yes but no 😂
i actually need to stop and reconsider my life after watching this😭
What I always tell tanks that soak up damage and complain that they don't get the heals they need is; if you have Supports that are good enough to bail you out of situations like that with their healing (like the Kiriko in this vid does), then imagine how much BETTER they'd do if you also minimized the damage you took in the first place. Not only would you do better in teams with with poorer Supports, but teams with great Supports that don't need to cover your ass 24/7 will get so much more value out of their kit, and could cover the rest of the team better.
Sounds like a usual support game :D
Especially in lower ranks lol 😂
Overwatch. Where its everyones fault but your own...
it wasn’t the kiris fault for this loss here it was that shatter rein djd at the end that lost them the game
this wouldve been my last comp game if my rein threw as hard as he did right at the end there
if zen went into a lw they would've won this game the tank was feeding a little but he had very good ults, he fumbled at the end
I saw a comment "I'm plat and I don't play like this". Oh but you do. You do play like the rank you're in unless you're climbing or falling.
I think the rein was trying to shatter in spawn to slow them down and not give them time to touch point. In that case, I think Kiriko should have committed and teleported to the rein. At the very least that shatter and a pin after could have gotten one or two people (ideally the supports).
I didn't know healing that much was possible.
heartbreaking end
That’s tough. 😂
the commnity NEEDS to heal from the brainrot of perma dpsing supports ISTG. the amount of people saying do damage is insane. what is a kiriko going to 1v5 against that team if she didnt heal them?
unranked to GMs perma dmg carry only work because you know who is smurfing against much lower player Elos when you are actually playing people at the same skill level you ave to sustain your team
Heal botting doesn’t help anything either buddy
@@lamarpalmer25i agree heal bot dont help either but this game just throw so much damage and all cc at tank and keeping it alive is essential but not all players will stop over extend because they like to kill. In overwatch 1 i main ana and my most heal per match is like 11-12k most of the time i dps and mind u there were 2 tanks to keep alive compared to this one big raid boss lol

@@lamarpalmer25 they would have lost the game much sooner. Omg please your brainrot is terminal i have nothing i can do for you. There is no universe in which kiriko would have carried 1v9 against that team even when piloted by akward. get some help
If only the rejn just shttered and charged the mauga away so they couldn't touch with his ult
That rein is lucky he didnt get someone like me who only plays lucio in ranked (who is pretty terrible at healing tanks)
I would not want to have to sit and heal a single person for the whole game, but it is necessary to win some games.
I got ~50k healing in a QP open queue once using Lifeweaver/Moira. It's what happens when all your teammates decide to play tank.
i love good heals, BUT IM HARD STUCK IN SILVER FOR DPS, and ive met supports who play WAAAY back and hide behind buildings and do nothing but heal 😭. it’d be different if they engaged in team fights and didnt run away, but that wasnt the case
That person has a lot of off-target ults.
Honestly I’d kill for a Kiri that good in my games. Good dmg in the FEW instances they could. Insane heals and good positioning and timing for the most part.
if your supports have ridiculously high healing it only means one of three things:
1. the game lasted very long
2. your team is feeding like crazy
3. the enemy is doing way more dmg and you're not doing enough
none of which are good and means your team is underperforming, esp for 2 and 3
I took too much emotional damage at the end from Rein's play there..
This is one of games you have as a support that make you just want to hop off for the day. So infuriating.
This tank took a huge L.
genuine question- at what point do you think, if any, they should have switched off Kirko to a higher healing output support or one with more survivability cooldowns such as bap?
bro watching this was disgusting, Jesus christ !!! how can a tank be so stupid, and not using walls 4 protection?!?!? this game was a typical one at plat
And any rank below as well at times.
i wonder how many kitsune rushes assists this kiri had
Chat is extra dumb if they think you always need DPS. Those numbers are meaningless without context. Anyone who looks to the scoreboard for all their info is brain dead.
Then Zen needed to be a lifeweaver. Pull that Rein back like a leash on a dog lol
