Daily reminder for Mercy mains - Superjump FOR positioning, do not use Superjump AS positioning. After all, if you just coast in the air, enemy hitscans will use you for target practice.
@@Pikachu-qr4yb Hanging out in the skybox using SJ off cooldown is not a good “position” to be in- it leaves you very vulnerable in the air with nowhere to go, and you can easily get tapped by enemy hitscans or even very good projectiles. I like hearing Flats go full helpful coach mode. Even when it’s bronze gameplay - Flats says a few things about the game I didn’t know before or they’re good reminders
Mercy player here! A lot of maps dont really require mercy to fly, and instead just take cover. Im not saying you shouldn’t, but you dont fancy mercy movement to effectively play her
Its really important to know when and when not to superjump, you can take highground or go on niche platforms but it can also kill you extremely easy when you mess it up, and also, its very important to know when to switch as mercy
The timbers that shivered every time they spam super jumped with a widow/soldier staring at them. Sure it's bronze and barn doors would get missed, but that's such a bad habit to pick up lol
In reference to the beginning of the vod, the issue of supports making the most idiotic picks for comps is a problem that goes up to diamond maybe even low masters. If I had $10 for everytime Ive seen a mercy illari comp; illari when the rest of our team is full dive; stagnant supports with/or no brig when the enemy is full dive; refusal to play Kiri/bap when we're brawl and the enemy has an Ana etc. I genuinely could buy a 4090 setup
Or any combination of Mercy, Lucio, and Zen. The three supports with low healing output and are chosen more for their utility and they just end up healbotting the entire game.
Your comment is a few days old but it resonates with me So bad. It breaks my heart when I see support duos that will legit “unable” (not enable) the team. It makes it so hard to play. But I usually get a really good laugh when the mercy/zen/moira starts telling people they should swap in this scenario
Up until quite recently I was really scared to pick any support other than Mercy because I was so used to her movement, and I was most comfortable with her and I always felt really bad when there was a team comp that did NOT want Mercy in it, but when I chose a different hero I always had the most deaths and least amount of value. I've been getting more into other heroes like Zen and Moira (and even got a POTG on Illari at one point), but it's still super difficult and it's why I'm scared to move out of qp into comp lmao (sorry for long comment, just felt the need to share)
Helpful reminder: Skeet SHOOTING is the name of that hobby with the launcher and the clay disks to practice your marksmanship Skeet - SHOOTING, Flats lol
8:12 90% of the time when u wanna use the slingshot at the end ga, look the direction u wanna go & press jump. pressing crouch to superjump locks 100% of ur momentum to the vertical, and is extremely predictable to shoot. u only rly wanna use it when u desperately need the extra height.
I was hardstuck bronze on support once and here's thing that helped me climb to gold (yes it's isn't much but it's still a progress): 1) Learn supports - i can play everyone except LW and Lucio because i don't like their gameplay. You should start building your main roster so you can choose a support that's better for your team. Remember: YOU should be picking a character for your team needs, not otherwise (unless your team agrees to pick for you); 2) Watch these types of videos because they helped me to learn positioning on every map. Positioning is the most important thing, you should know where you can take cover; 3) Play Mercy parkour, it's the most helpful thing that you 100% should play if you want to be better at Mercy. It helps you to learn her techs and also you get to know maps - it helps with positioning. And overall every parkour is helpful in their own way; 4) Don't use superjump all the time, the only time i sj it's when it makes me covered: you can sj when you hide over the angle because that helps to have distance between you and your teammates but also lets you see your team and you have more time to react. Overall sj is better for positioning, spectating your team and intel like on this map where Mercy can easily see enemy team in 1st point, you just have to fall fast and not glide: 5) Use techs used in parkour to be slippery, it can win games. Fly from teammate to teammate, hide on high ground if it's safe, use prop jump if you stuck, remember that you can still GA to your teammate if they out of LOS for a couple of seconds; 6) Don't go for a pretty rez if it puts you in danger or you not sure if you can pull it off. It's better just to do simple rez in the cover. But in Valk you can risk it tho; 7) It's controversial and situational but there's nothing wrong with falling back after you rez your other support. It depends on other support but to your team it's more useful to have one Ana (esp with nano) than one Mercy; 8) Shoot Enemy!!! Esp Widow in valk. Good Widow can humble you but if you in bronze what she can do? Spray you? Don't be afraid to defend yourself if your DPS died there's chance you can win and safely rez but again it's situational. Also you can do damage when your team doesn't need that much healing and enemy team clumping together like when yoiu in defense on Kingsrow. If you shoot some bullets you can land some hs and even kill a squishy. But that's more for funsies.

Flats I think you should do this series for players that are hardstuck in like plat or diamond. I'd like to see you coach up people that are decent instead of watching 10 bots. Also these playres complain about their teammates a lot so you'd get to put them in check there.
The rezzing out in the open reminds me of older battlefield games where I'd keep getting rezzed out in the open then me and the medic both get killed lol
Arond 15:50 - the zen doesn't have a heal orb on anyone for like a full 45 seconds. That's the problem with A LOT of zen players in lower ranks. They don't realize how heal orb works, or to refresh it when the person who had it dies.
i’m a mercy main and i haven’t been able to get out of bronze. this video has actually helped a lot. i just need to learn when it’s time to give mercy up and use a different character
from my understanding bronze players see different heroes as hard to play or "troll" heroes such as doom, widow, ashe, lucio and mostly hitscans and they decide to pocket something more "reliable"
it also feels like they're just dmg boosting to dmg boost, dmg boost has priority like say you see a zen volleying you should flick you dmg boost onto him but they just randomly dmg at times
Hey flats. You pointed out that they had negative dmg with that team comp. Can you pls make an extra video about suboptimal team comps? So that more ppl can see that. I had way too many comps like that even beyond diamond. Thx
I recently went from bronze to gold 2 and my biggest advice is to find the one getting picks to pocket, ignore rez opportunities that are too close to groups of enemies, and only super jump to get to high ground or follow a flyer. Using spacebar to fly around corners saves you a lot more often than super jumping does. Hope this helps anyone playing mercy!
also another advice coming from a mercy main… please know when to swap off mercy! if your team isn’t doing anything and are making stupid decisions, dmg boosting/healbotting them won’t help! mercy *heavily* depends on her team, so when your team isn’t doing good, you won’t be either
This was very frustrating to watch. SJ just to SJ is so stupid and a waste of cooldown time. Save guardian angel and use SJ to position yourself in better places to enable your team. Also drives me crazy that they never slingshot, I slingshot probably 80% of my GAs. The other 15% is to just stay close enough to keep beam attached. finally 5% is to take high ground or get a quick overview of where the enemy team or my team are at and where they're going. And I also immediately fall back down when in the air since gliding just makes your hit box bigger. IMO, flipping your camera to go up is more reliable and precise in terms of doing jumps.
I main Sombra, and when I get any attention whatsoever from my teammates I actually get mad. I don't want your heals, I don't want your help; if I die, that's my fault. The only time that isn't true is when people try to coordinate with me, and I purposefully do not engage in the fight to punish them for being out of position. If you see a Sombra on your team, you should be playing as a 4v5 and waiting for her to either pull aggro or get a kill.
@necrosis6037 because occasionally sombra actually gets top dmg and they think they can help. I also hate getting rez'd as sombra. Sombra has the fastest spawn reinforcement time of all heroes, and makes the least impact in a massive melee anyway.
I wonder if some of it comes from the pressure a lot of people give when u play a support. They’ll yell at u to switch off of whoever ur flex support is and play mercy.
General tip to everyone not this person only: Your mercy movement will get 100000x better once you learn to stop relying on the super jump! Use her GA to jump really high. Reduced cooldown, faster fall, use the super jump only when really needing to get high
I recently retired from tank (I can't, I'm sorry.) and started playing DPS with my new PC upgrade (playing with a 144hz monitor is crazy). So far I've learned it's really frustrating when we have a mirror comp but the only difference is that my mercy is pocketing the junkrat and their mercy is pocketing the enemy soldier, but I'm still almost winning every engagement I have where I'm fighting the soldier, but the extra healing/damage boost the soldier is getting is just enough to make up for the small bit of better aim I have over them. It makes me sad.
From playing for 4 years, you’ll learn that not every support is gonna work with every hero. Definitely right when choosing my the wrong hero unless the tank and dps switch
This Mercy needs to realize that Mercy can still use WASD while floating or during GA cancel. They keep looking at random directions for no reason at all. And like Flats said, utilize slingshots more. You can even do it backwards if you hold S during GA cancel.
I honestly don't know what to make of Mercy as a Mercy connoisseur myself. She seems so very weak but does some really cool things... I think the damage boost nerf was really unneeded. What could they give her to make her more viable as a OTP? I don't know. Maybe take some tips from the Halloween cards event? Maybe overhealing lingers some healing over time? I dunno what do you do that makes her more proactive without breaking her?
As someone who is learning mercy play some mercy parkour to get comfy with her movements, then learn when and who is best to damage boost and heal, and don’t play mercy in bronze Also play some dps mercy it comes in handy when you need to save yourself
Hey flats, new to the channel here, and just wondering what I can do to send in my clips. I started playing overwatch 2, and am really enjoying the game, I would like any critiques I can get from a high level player like yourself

TL;DR: Positive voice chat for lvl 5 endorsement and wins that would normally be a thrown match. Get in the habit. Maybe that hat might hide a rabbit. *_STAB IT_* this right here's black magic... lol 19:45 I thought this too lol. Until I randomly looked up and saw lvl 5. Playing only Zen, Bap, Monkey, and Ram. I was mad surprised. However, more people have been in VC lately. And, I call out like it's OWL finals every game haha. And, I "figured out" a simple method to increase wins (granted you got people in VC). Just keep moral up... even if everyone is getting touched inappropriately... Give out all the compliments you can, and "ooo good try, if you can do _this_ next time! you almost got it!" "We almost had it, if we could just do _this_ or _this"._ And, anytime you feel the energy drop, or that your team is starting to check out "It's all good yo! The comebacks are strong! We know what to do now. If any of you can go _this_ that would be lovely. If not it's all good. Just focus the discord. Rather you play what your best with" "Yo, it's all good. Typically, if you get rolled on defense. They are gonna blow on defense just as bad. If not worse, same for attack. Trust me it isn't over. We're gonna roll them just as hard if not harder, as long as no one gives up. But, they will start flaming each other. And, that's the dub right there". Just constantly keep moral up. And, if you know why yall got rolled. Just talk em through it and keep them focused. If they at least know what happened and aren't confused (if they don't know. Then it's "my whole team blows"). Or, at least believe someone knows what's going on... They tend to not give up. You're playing suicide hotline operator all game XD. And, it fucking works. You can't be fake with it though. Don't let that malice seep out lol. Also, if you apologize and take full responsibility. It tends to kick people in gear cause they know that the Zen with the same damage as the highest dps in the lobby, and matching or the highest heals on the lobby. Isn't the problem. And, they want to now do their part as hard as you are. You will see Genjis post fight look back at you for affirmation HAHA. Just hop in the positivity pocket and ride. But don't lie (other than "shit, my bad guys. I fucked that whole thing") you can be like "ooof that was rough my guy, no worries though. Shit happens to us all" (or speak on getting greedy, unlucky, cheesed, misses, bad positioning etc. And, condition them with a tip or better option. AND FUCKING NOTICE THEM IF THEY DO IT. That just lights people up. And, they love it. I'm sure yall know what that feels like at least a little. When someone gives you advice or asks for help, and you complete the mission. And, they verbally dap you up. Just feels good. And, you want to continue to complete the mission). I'll think no one is listening all game. We will take a hard L. And, then I'll get 3+ endorsements. And, you go "oh, wow... guess they were listening to all that. And, at the very least appreciated the effort or environment you created. And, you bet your ass of you get them in your next game. They are fired up in the chat, or their mic flips on... It has similarities to freestyling in some sense. You wanna be present and not tack last's ass match on the one you're in now. I'm only a silver support; mercy main, so I don't feel I have a lot of room to speak on this... but I don't think they understand their range on mercy. There were moments where they could have saved their teammates from dying but they don't know their range to do it.

i know they're not a mercy main but the slow gliding down after superjump in the open is killing me... luckily this is bronze, otherwise her head isnt safe 😭
Nothing is worse than having a healbot mercy one trick on your team
WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE IS THE REAL FLATS!?!?!?!? WHEREREEEEEE!? No roasting, pure honesty and sweetness. It's a nice change to see coming from you, ex Meanie Weanie Flats.
I like hearing Flats go full helpful coach mode. Even when it’s bronze gameplay - Flats says a few things about the game I didn’t know before or they’re good reminders
ive had mercys in plat that don't damage boost. Mercy brain is a real thing how can even non mercy players understand their character better. Wild.
I’ve been binging these and you happened to upload one. Thank you 🙏
I play mystery heroes a lot and when I get Mercy I do exactly what he says. Observe who's a good player and gets kills and pocket that one.
yesterday i got called rabies mercy bcs I pulled out my glock so often so seeing flats be happy about someone glocking made me laugh
Mercy player here! A lot of maps dont really require mercy to fly, and instead just take cover. Im not saying you shouldn’t, but you dont fancy mercy movement to effectively play her
Yes her movement is so so so good if you do it right but it will definitely be your demise if you fly to fly and not to survive.
Its really important to know when and when not to superjump, you can take highground or go on niche platforms but it can also kill you extremely easy when you mess it up, and also, its very important to know when to switch as mercy
I will never trust a Flats skin rating ever again! What do you MEAN Zhuque is a C???? Blasphemy XD
9:27 would've been a great spot to damage boost the ulting moira.
The timbers that shivered every time they spam super jumped with a widow/soldier staring at them. Sure it's bronze and barn doors would get missed, but that's such a bad habit to pick up lol
10:14 this mercy is EXTREMELY lucky their widow is bad ortherwise she would've gotten domed right here.
I have a suspension that their duo plays Mercy the same way we are seeing them play Mercy which is why they don't know all the techniques.
Literally me in OW1 haha. Good thing I didn't play Ranked
Your comment is a few days old but it resonates with me
So bad.
Helpful reminder: Skeet SHOOTING is the name of that hobby with the launcher and the clay disks to practice your marksmanship
Skeet - SHOOTING, Flats
lol
8:12 90% of the time when u wanna use the slingshot at the end ga, look the direction u wanna go & press jump. pressing crouch to superjump locks 100% of ur momentum to the vertical, and is extremely predictable to shoot. u only rly wanna use it when u desperately need the extra height.
This is the kinda coaching and feedback I need too - lol
Fantastic advice
this is the nicest I've ever seen flats when he's spectating
i thought with the title she would have like, 5% damage beam usage 58% doesn’t seem bad especially for bronze
I feel bad for her, she tried as Mercy but i feel this, there's not much you can do
Flats "Look up what skeet is"
Yeah maybe don't do that guys...
I was hardstuck bronze on support once and here's thing that helped me climb to gold (yes it's isn't much but it's still a progress):
1) Learn supports - i can play everyone except LW and Lucio because i don't like their gameplay. You should start building your main roster so you can choose a support that's better for your team. Remember: YOU should be picking a character for your team needs, not otherwise (unless your team agrees to pick for you);
2) Watch these types of videos because they helped me to learn positioning on every map. Positioning is the most important thing, you should know where you can take cover;
3) Play Mercy parkour, it's the most helpful thing that you 100% should play if you want to be better at Mercy. It helps you to learn her techs and also you get to know maps - it helps with positioning. And overall every parkour is helpful in their own way;
4) Don't use superjump all the time, the only time i sj it's when it makes me covered: you can sj when you hide over the angle because that helps to have distance between you and your teammates but also lets you see your team and you have more time to react. Overall sj is better for positioning, spectating your team and intel like on this map where Mercy can easily see enemy team in 1st point, you just have to fall fast and not glide:
5) Use techs used in parkour to be slippery, it can win games. Fly from teammate to teammate, hide on high ground if it's safe, use prop jump if you stuck, remember that you can still GA to your teammate if they out of LOS for a couple of seconds;
6) Don't go for a pretty rez if it puts you in danger or you not sure if you can pull it off. It's better just to do simple rez in the cover. But in Valk you can risk it tho;
7) It's controversial and situational but there's nothing wrong with falling back after you rez your other support. It depends on other support but to your team it's more useful to have one Ana (esp with nano) than one Mercy;
8) Shoot Enemy!!!
Flats community, let him know- he gotta do that Deep Rock Galactic variety stream to level up his mental health 🙏 it’s 💯 wholesome fun with friends!
FOR ROCK AND STOOONE
(But he doesn’t look at RUclips comments 😮💨)
Idk, he read my 7v7 prolander comment awhile back omegalul.
@@azseal2669 oh that’s cool! One of his mods recently told me he doesn’t read RUclips comments cause there’s so much Overwatch drama- which I do not fault him for.
ROCK AND STONE
@@Jonny_Rhombus I was joking, dw. DRG is a great game tho. Rock and Stone forever!
ROCK AND STONE, BROTHER!!!
Super jumping at 7:37 made me HELLA nervous she could easily get sniped by that enemy widow
I quite literally demote every time I queue with people. I only do well when I solo queue
mercy is my least played support and i 100% focus on the movement instead of being actually useful so this video is much appreciated.
Use the GA dash/slingshot and look where you want to go (including up). They only use the crouch superjump....
They don't realize how heal orb works, or to refresh it when the person who had it dies.
i’m a mercy main and i haven’t been able to get out of bronze. this video has actually helped a lot. i just need to learn when it’s time to give mercy up and use a different character
this is the nicest flats react/improvement vod hes usually more brutal than this lmfao
Holy shit that soldier pov its like his mouse has recoil not the gun
from my understanding bronze players see different heroes as hard to play or "troll" heroes such as doom, widow, ashe, lucio and mostly hitscans and they decide to pocket something more "reliable"
if you have a widow and an ashe on the same team there’s a huge chance your supports will just throw LMFAO
17:24 "Your not that guy! Your not him!"
Do ppl do this in Bronze......ALL THE TIME 😂 I play solo so I see much more stupidity down here.
It makes me wana have a bronze account if for no other reason but the LOLs
@@skeeteronthewater1568 It's pretty hilarious, so many people don't know hiw to capture the objective when they are fresh.
2:43 yeah that sums up mercy
it also feels like they're just dmg boosting to dmg boost, dmg boost has priority like say you see a zen volleying you should flick you dmg boost onto him but they just randomly dmg at times
They were literally just superjumping the whole time
Dear mercy mains, do mercy parkour in custom games. It’ll exercise all of your mercy muscles.
i love how Flats loves battle mercy LMFAO
Hey flats. You pointed out that they had negative dmg with that team comp. Can you pls make an extra video about suboptimal team comps? So that more ppl can see that. I had way too many comps like that even beyond diamond. Thx
Each time they tried to super jump they broke their beam and it drives me INSANE. Like her beam uptime is…. Not there !
This is so heartwarming ❤
I main Sombra, and when I get any attention whatsoever from my teammates I actually get mad. I don't want your heals, I don't want your help; if I die, that's my fault. The only time that isn't true is when people try to coordinate with me, and I purposefully do not engage in the fight to punish them for being out of position. If you see a Sombra on your team, you should be playing as a 4v5 and waiting for her to either pull aggro or get a kill.
What about getting a repair pack thrown at you
@@necrosis6037 those are usually pretty discreet, but any more than one is unnecessary. I'm thinking of mercy pocket mostly
@@MrNeCr01 why is mercy pocketing a dive character lol
@necrosis6037 because occasionally sombra actually gets top dmg and they think they can help. I also hate getting rez'd as sombra. Sombra has the fastest spawn reinforcement time of all heroes, and makes the least impact in a massive melee anyway.
I wonder if some of it comes from the pressure a lot of people give when u play a support. They’ll yell at u to switch off of whoever ur flex support is and play mercy.
Why would an Ana main stuck in Bronze send in Mercy gameplay? I don't get it.
When she pulls the blaster out 🤣😂
I scream when mercy’s only hold heal beam, it’s beyond pointless 🤢 and this title is wrong there’s a lot of damage boost 🤨🤨🤨
in a sarcastic way xD
Does anyone know how to show your mic is muted in the top left corner
to be fair ive never flicked to get information literally only for movement
Why is this player trying to learn Mercy of all heroes to climb lmao
Probably don’t know how bad mercy is
As someone who is learning mercy play some mercy parkour to get comfy with her movements, then learn when and who is best to damage boost and heal, and don’t play mercy in bronze
Also play some dps mercy it comes in handy when you need to save yourself
How are these real people! Crazy
Hey flats, new to the channel here, and just wondering what I can do to send in my clips. I started playing overwatch 2, and am really enjoying the game, I would like any critiques I can get from a high level player like yourself
As a Mercy main who just learned they should be using their damage beam more, they can learn… I can hope
Get that 60-40 ratio!! You have a cohealer!! BOOST!!
Day 3 of begging flats for a cheese tier list
TL;DR: Positive voice chat for lvl 5 endorsement and wins that would normally be a thrown match. Get in the habit. Maybe that hat might hide a rabbit.
*_STAB IT_* this right here's black magic... lol
19:45 I thought this too lol. Maybe that stupid asshole Genji was just that last match. But, maybe this Genji, tank, or Mercy is just confused... Or, doesn't know...
How do I send in my own game for a professionals critic. Need tips on how to improve
Gold 4 mercy here checking out if I can learn to be a better mercy from our boy flats
Bronze support should just play moira, kill everything and call it a day.
if someone do that it would leave bronze and be plat or higher, as me, but i never was bronce event silver, so idk
BETTER MACHINE GUN SOUNDS! Made me hard LOL XD
I'm only a silver support; mercy main, so I don't feel I have a lot of room to speak on this... but I don't think they understand their range on mercy. There were moments where they could have saved their teammates from dying but they don't know their range to do it.
as a widow main: yeah, flying for the widow is NOT rly a good idea... widow mains are kinda used to it, and HS a valk mercy is not as hard as you think XD
but i guess yeah in this elo that's a really good play
the day i stopped playing mercy on bronze was the day i got off bronze unless your gold to plat mercy should be the last character to pick
This Percy didn't have anything to dmg boost 😂
