Exactly. Apex is literally a point and shoot game and plus there are SO many ways to cheesecake the game. A game like Overwatch not only you need aim but you need to have game sense like target prioritizing, map knowledge, awareness, Ult timing, etc. This is why I feel a lot of players who play DPS in Overwatch who come from other FPS games are not good because they clearly lack these skills. Overwatch truly puts those skills to the test and I feel Overwatch 2 exposes a LOT of these type of players.

good aim doesnt mean anything in an objective/team based game if you dont get kills that contribute toward a win. You know just like landing a bunch of shots that dont kill anyone or killing someone then nothing happens and they just run back from spawn or whatever
I have had some horrifying uptime percentages on illari where the only time it WASNT up was walking out of spawn or the one single time their support suicided to break it
Being told tank diff is one of the most annoying things in the game and can even ruin people’s mental. Like last night I was trying comp to rank up and was doing pretty mediocre and asked my team to swap dive so I can do more and one dps said no bc I wasn’t doing much and at the end that same dps went afk js to say tank diff and it was such a mood killer
I see that so often, that people go for tanks first in Mei ult, when you should use the fact the tank is disabled to kill their team. If you shoot the tank, they still indirectly do their job, thus invalidating your ult.
20:22 I love flats screaming "wall" so much the rein just goes flying into the backwall from the sheer anger of it, and the funny thing is, this might've been a perfectly timed replay glitch, because at 20:43 you see the exact same kill and he just falls over and dies normally.
Also another Mei tip. There were a lot of times if he ulted at his feet or just on the closest target, huge team freeze. Bronze players stick together like an amoeba

I've been a realtor for over 15 years, specifically in foreclosures. Just an observation, but Rocket (sponsor of todays video, thank you!) is one of the most aggressive lenders I've encountered when it comes to how fast they're filing on people. Honestly, for someone who claims to be a diamond Apex player I'm surprised they didn't just go Soldier or Widow or something, but hey, play who you like I guess, Mei is a cutie.
Probably their biggest hurdle, but also a good choice for learning how this game is *not* Apex. if they were just playing Soldier or Bastion or some other point-and-click hero they probably wouldn't learn as much about what makes this game different. Mei *needs* to use her abilities tactically to be worth playing over a different pick. It's a better growth choice even if another pick might give them better returns in the short-term.
He held onto that ult for far too long. It's bee a long time now, and I can't remember his name, but there was a high level player who would review some of these matches. He was zooming around around where the payload rounds up to castle, and his camera went underground. He was so surprised to see that there was an under section to that part of the map, that he literally stopped the video for about 5 minutes, and asked his chat if that's always been there. It was legitimately funny to watch.
When he said my mouse buttons are swapped I guessed my self why I havent done that because when Kiri came out I swapped in the first 2 sec of playing her it felt so wrong but I never did with Mei because her primary was the spray to freeze and then icicle to the head I wonder how many only OW2 gamer swap their primary and secondary
Very true I haven't swapped them for any original characters But I find almost any character released in the last 2-3 years gets a switcheroo I've played so much Mei that all new supports with a primary projectile/precision fire goes on right-click for me Back on console I just had most of them swapped (and default Moira makes no sense)
hey flats, when looking for a house you should look into houses further from the city, and through a large builder like DR horton if you've got difficulty affording a home. The more commute time you add to your daily life the more money you save, and if it's through a large builder they will help you a lot. I received around 20k towards my house from my builder no strings attached
I’ve seen plenty of junk rats do it lmao as a support main it hurts my brain seeing the team not listen to 3,000 pings on the Sombra just chilling while I’m trying to 1v1 lmao
I’ve been playing Mei a lot more recently because it’s so fun to bully the other team with her kit. One thing I’d add to help is that if you press her wall again after it’s up, you can take it down early which starts the cooldown. You don’t have to wait the full duration of the wall. I use this in moments where I need immediate cover but can find new cover quickly enough to where I don’t need the wall anymore. It can be make or break sometimes.
Im not a mei player but I imagine you want to use your beam up close and icicle for mid to long range. This guy was trying to icicle in a duel with someone in his pocket. Mei is literally the devil they need to play her as such
Depends icicle does way more dmg if someone’s mid to high hp whittling them down with icicle can be better. Spray does damage but it’s more for finishing or slowing the other person down bc it has a minor slow effect bc if you’re trying to 1v1 up close and only use beam it’s super easy to get rolled or their cooldown will come back up bc the beam does very little dmg at a time

I am taking notes on this video. I have played Overwatch for years but game sense for games like this are hard for me to pick up. But this video was so helpful
The other part I feel like isn’t getting addressed is Mei not depending enough on the resources of her teammates and the map. Instead of ice blocking so much, just ask for healing or use mega packs. Ice block is just way too good to just put it on cooldown, it felt more like they just used as a healing resource rather than a survival/stalling resource. Like yes it can heal you, but it can also close off doorways and you can combo it with wall. You can wall first, let them break it then use it while stalling for time. If you just ganna play mid to long range, Mccree/Soldier/Sojourn are much better options.
Silvers are dogs: They will _mostly_ follow the tank, unless they see a squirrel. Gold are Rams: everyone wants the 1v1, even mid team fight. This is harder than it looks to think of 🤔
17:03 that part really triggered me. I hit a huge blizzard in a game as I died, I saw 3 frozen enemies, the tank and 2 squishies, my Reaper started blasting the tank and didn't even fucking kill them. I was so annoyed.
