    Thanks for your question, ghalya mohammed. For these cookies, yes, we recommend greasing the cookie sheets to ensure the cookies don't stick. Or you could line them with parchment paper and skip the greasing step completely. Enjoy!

    Hola!, se ven deliciosas las galletas; podría sustituír la mantequilla por aceite? he visto recetas que llevan aceite, pero las únicas que quedan suaves se hacen con harina preparada para pastel y me encantaría hacerlas con ingredientes caseros. Gracias, espero respondan a mi pregunta

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  7 лет назад

      Hi Marycarmen! You can substitute butter for oil. Both butter and oil make a cake moist. Oil will coat the protein molecules in flour and inhibit gluten formation (too much gluten can make baked goods tough). Oil gives a moist mouth feel when we taste the cake, and a softer texture. Butter also coats the flour and creams well with eggs, sugar and any liquids. Because butter is part water, it also produces a moist cake, which some believe has more flavor.
      Let us know if you have any other questions!

      Do you mean substitute butter for half of the shortening, Ranee Mojica? You can do this. Butter will have more flavor and since it's salted, you might want to use less salt. Add 1/2 teaspoon and give it a taste first to determine if you want to add more.

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  8 лет назад +1

      Do you mean wrapping paper for presents or wrapping paper for packages, Kevin Darner? We wouldn't recommend using either because they don't have a non-stick surface like parchment paper. This would make it hard to remove the cookies from the paper. If you don't have parchment paper, you can always grease the baking sheet with butter or shortening to make it easy to remove the cookies.

      You may always substitute white sugar for brown sugar, Usman Aziz. Use the same amount. Brown sugar is actually white sugar that's been colored and moistened with molasses. You can also use molasses and make your own homemade version in a food processor. Use about 3 tablespoons of molasses per 1 cup of sugar.

      Excellent question, JL Harris! Yes, you may refrigerate prepared cookie dough overnight, or even for a couple of days, if you don't have time to make the cookies right away. It will keep just fine. Some cooks think refrigerating the dough 24 hours makes the cookies even better. Enjoy them!

Brown sugar is white sugar combined with molasses, which adds moistness and a softer texture, as well as color. • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  9 лет назад

      Hi, Saba Nousheen - You may substitute butter for the shortening in this recipe. The correct amount will be 227 grams.
      Do you know how to convert Allrecipes recipes to metric measurements? It's easy! Here are the steps:
      1) Click on the recipe link to open its page. (You'll find the link at the top of the page under the "Published on" date, or open the box that says "Show More"
      to find it there. To save you a step, here's the link for this recipe: allrecipes.com/recipe/10785/robbis-mms-cookies/
      2) Next, to the right of “Ingredients,” find the Servings number (It's an little gray circle icon divided into sections. Click on this.
      3) When the new window opens, you'll see two boxes, one for the number of servings, and one for Adjust. You'd use these if you were changing the number of servings.) Right below look for an orange circle with "US" and a white circle with "Metric".
      4) Click on "Metric" and then hit "Adjust" and all the ingredient amounts will immediately change to grams and milliliters.

    how much butter do we need

    • @allrecipes
