I recently started FPV too and filmed the first real flight in a giant field... I didn't go the DJI route purely because the chance of me crashing and breaking it straight away was highly likely... I could make an entire crash reel from the last 4 weeks of flying! but the little cinewhoop I have is still going strong!
Thats epic! Yeah the DJI doesnt give much room for crashes :D
Remember to keep you goggle screens away from the sun, the lens act like magnifying glasses and Will burn a hole in them

Welcome to the beautiful world of fpv 😎 I'm flying the DJI fpv for well over a year now and still get motion sickness when flying fhe sim. Comes from the digital rendering i think.
The real deal is much better though, but I wouldn't try full manual after 20 hours of sim flying. Or buy a cheaper fpv drone 😅

Haha same story here. I bought it used last October and I’m finally trying it out in the real world this week. Took about an hour with updates and whatnot. I think I’m just gonna stick with sport mode for now and try out manual when I hit Saskatchewan on my trip so I don’t hit anything.

In England you MUST have VLOS at all times with FPV drone, so basically a spotter who can see it with there eyes and warn the pilot of any danger.

I felt exactly the way you’re explaining the way you felt and Also it’s very expensive if you crash it or if you touch someone Or 🎉hit a car or anything it’s as heavy as a brick it’s like a flying Brick in the shape of a potato.

Yes you can, the second pair of goggles needs to be in audience mode

Way to go! I also am really nervous about giving it a try, mostly because my only experience with FPV was the Beta FPV Cetus Pro. If I could get that working again (the goggles don't connect anymore for some reason), I might get into it. Would love to fly the DJI FPV drone, though. Can be such an awesome tool for amazing footage. Keep it up!
Just do simulator for a bit and then practice high in the sky!

Always wanted to try FPV, been following it for a bit now but absolutely terrified of crashing such an expensive piece of tech, my old Mavic pro (original) and my Mavic mini have been alright for me but the idea of seeing your footage live through googles instead of your phone sounds a whole lot better, and not to mention extremely fun!
Just start slow!
Buy a radio and start with simulators like drl. There are many cheap drones. I just started and have been practicing with a 100 dollar whoop. It can take a beating too.

Wait until you really remove the safety measures on manual mode, you were riding on semi-manual mode. You need to be able to do rolls , pitches and yaws, that will literally drop your yaw ;)

I have a iPhone. How you use the goggles without being hooked up to the phone.
Get yourself a 3rd party headstrap or fatstrap for your goggles they are much more comfortable than the dji goggle strap.

I was curious about the motion sickness. I can do rollercoasters and such, but I will get motion sickness in cars and boats (depending how bad the waves are). I’d love to get into FPV but not sure I can handle the first person view.
I think it just takes time for ur brain to get used to it. Id suggest simulator without goggles at first and then when ur more controlled at flying use the goggles
Did you get motion sickness when flying for real? I can not practice the simulator with the googles on, it gets me so sick.
Yeah it went away eventaully but at first it was rough!
It is so cute that you actually thought you were in manual mode😅. Manual mode requires unlocking in the menu system, simply hitting the switch won't do it until set up properly. This will put you in full acro/manual mode. I suggest you don't attempt it until you have many hours of practice under your belt. Once you are really good enough to try the real manual mode, the experience will be one of the biggest rushes. Good luck on your journey into FPV.

@@TeppoHaapoja I personally like Liftoff simulator, but the DRL simulator is really good as well. I know they are both on steam.
Also I if if it still makes you sick, flying from a screen instead of the goggles can help, and you are able to learn the same skills.
You can't learn full Acro 3 days. This drone is meant to be flown in full manual. Anything less is a waste of time.

Learning to fly FPV with the most fragile, unfixable and expensive piece of s*** drone on the market is not a good way to learn. Buy a real prebuilt fpv drone that can handle a crash, play 10 hours of simulator, spend 10 hours flying and crashing in a park and you will seriously be able to fly with way higher precision than you think. There is no need for the other modes, because they are NOTHING like manual mode and you will learn NOTHING from them.
DJI batteries=150USD
DJI props=18USD
Spare parts=don't even bother, if you have the technical skill to fix it, you would not buy it in the first place.
Normal LIPO's=30USD
Normal props=3-4USD
Spare parts=mostly cheap.
