Literally those little fruits have been on my mind for months. It feels so silly to make them in a small apartment with no children but also they're amazing 😂
I just love travel cubes. They seem like they would be simple to make and a lovely gift for friends and family who travel a lot. Sewing them up in a fun fabric that fits the person would help make them unique gifts.
I loved all the tips on planning ahead for handmade gifts! It's so true that starting early can really help avoid the last-minute panic. The idea of making a card with pattern images is such a thoughtful touch too! Can't wait to start my holiday sewing projects! 🎄✂
This video is amazing!!! I would like to make my loved ones gifts but the idea videos I've found are always too frou-frou for my/our style. Your ideas are so beautiful, elevated and nicely exclude tiny and colorful prints. Thank you for showing me all these gorgeous options
@@StephSewn I love the Tytka bags! I did not know this brand and it's perfect! I will purchase the wine bag and the circle tote. The Helen's closet robe is also a wonderful idea.
Some great ideas in here. I will definitely be looking some of these up. I made an oven glove recently with heat-resistant batting and it just wasn't protective enough, so double check the effectiveness of the batting before you sew it up. Also if you are making anything heat/microwave related, as well as using natural fabrics, it is very important to use real cotton thread as polyester thread will melt! I am currently making the 'Just Slip It' cowl for gifts (on Ravelry) which is a very quick knit and such fun to make.
I’m recovering from Covid so no handmade gifts this year. I enjoyed watching the video though and I love your idea about a nice card and letting the person shop with you for materials for the make.
Ooo love the trivet idea- had not considered that. I've never seen woven leather baskets- if you have any pattern recommendations, I'd love to hear them!
Thank you! I am watching your video a second time so i can narrow down the items i like best. I would never have known about the tytka bags without your video. They are now the top of my list.
Delighted to know there's another chaotic gift knitter out there. I'm not actually doing it this year. I've been gift knitting this autumn but without Christmas in mind per se. Ironically I won't be seeing the recipients until Christmas so in a roundabout way, I've nailed it. 😅
This was a great video! I am also someone who has made huge plans for Christmas making only to end up manically trying to finish before the big day. It's really not fun. I'm going to TRY to just focus on easy, small things this year. Someday, I would love to make my adult kids and my husband some of the Quilted Slippers from Sew DIY. I've made them all sweatshirts and those seem to get a lot of use. Happy sewing and thank you for the video!
Another great video Steph!!! I’m in a sewing lull lately but it’s very refreshing and fun to see cool different ideas. I might’ve been motivated to work on a robe project for myself-self-gift :). I grabbed the pattern from the “12 days from Fold Line” series last Xmas and a really nice linen both M&M. Thxs hope you are enjoying your weekend
Hi great video and great advice and inspiration. What was the studio you showed that offered fruit patterns (looks like made in linen) I’m intrigued to try making those but didn’t see the link? It would’ve been the first item mentioned after rumpus room 😂
Hi. Planning a couple sweatshirts for my hubby, a small travel cube for a world-traveling friend, a book/project sleeve for an artist friend, and a small makeup pouch with various, small items inside for another friend. I think all are doable with present time frame. I try to time my making according to when I may see all these people in person between now and holidays. I try not to stress whether gift is given before or after Christmas. RUclips videos like this and “A Gift to November” help me get in timely making mindset for holidays. Thanks for inspiration.
I watched this video even though I have absolutely no intention of making anything for anyone else. Great suggestions if I wasn't so selfish, though...
Yay for learning how to crochet! FWIW, if you are left handed, please do yourself a favor and learn left handed crochet. I struggled mightily, with much humility, (ima skilled needlewoman, as r u, but to be told you cannot do something is humbling). Fortunately I can and did learn, but I am a leftie. Years later, I still cannot crochet right handed. Eat, even write my name, but not crochet. 🧶 and yes, a few years ago I cut my list so far only husband is on the list. Grandkids need money right now anyway. 😂. Thanks for the reminder about the rope bowls. I like them.
Sadly I am right handed, so I have no excuse!! I have seen the impact of how different hand positions affect my knitting though, so this is a great reminder to play around with crochet too
I happen to know that your mom LOVED the Megan Nielsen Hovea jacket that you made for her of kantha quilts! ❤
Coasters! I've made them from quilt squares, rope, scraps, even leftovers from quilted bags. Also placemats are the same idea.
This was one of the best gift pattern round ups ive seen thank you!!! I was getting so bored with the same old stuff. The little fruits!!! I cannot.

My roommate used to buy bags off *suluxy* . I think she ended up spending almost the price of the bag she wanted . They were real leather .
@@StephSewn you could do a bunch of lemons in case AD stops by for a house tour
The tip about giving them a gift of making them something they want is brilliant! Thank you!

Love this idea! Super useful.
I love your open honesty!😅
Oh no! Now I have to make all of those cute bags by Tytka Studio! Love them!
Thank you Steph for a fabulous in depth vlog... Very inspirational 😊
What a wonderful list!!!
Thank you for all your hard work!!! 🌹🌹🌹
I had so much fun putting it together!

Yup I am making gifts. I am sticking to accessories and Handmade gift cards for knitted/crochet sweaters and socks.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video and hope you're on the mend soon. Take care of yourself!
Love the tyko (sp) bags as well! I'm tempted to make some cotton cord trivets as well as some woven leather baskets!!

Tell a lie, I might do some small quick things like the Sophie scarf

Thank you for the inspiration and all the links you’ve provided! So appreciated 🎄✨

Great ideas, just in time for Christmas! 🎁⛄🎄
Very helpful, Steph. Thanks! I'm making several things, but I have opted for simpler things (like pajama bottoms) this year.
I've made my dad flannel pajama bottoms before, and he still seems to enjoy lounging in them 💕
This list was so helpful! I especially appreciated the sewing recs. Thank you!

Love this- my favourite person to sew for is also myself 🌚
I can't wait to see your Paynter jacket! I have the pattern but will probably wait until after Southern hemisphere summer.
Ooo hope it goes well! So far I'm really enjoying the project.
