Enjoyed the catch up 😊 My sewing space is just like yours - spare room, ironing room and sewing space. It also has two massive bookshelves full of my parents' books (Mom is still with me, so no getting rid just yet!) So, yes, I would be very interested in a vlog discussing how to optimize a space like this.
I really like the exposed zip on your denim dress, it makes a lovely feature ❤️ I love love love the pink sweatshirting and ribbing, my pink isn’t quite as bright but it’s similar- currently in the dryer to get the shrinkage sorted before I cut into it tomorrow. Enjoy your sewing retreat, sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun! 😍
Fantastic to see you Tania. Love your recreation of the Whistles dress, I can imagine you’ll wear it an awful lot. Love love love the pink sweatshirting. Can’t wait to see that made up. Lots of love ❤❤❤
Hi Tania. Your whistles inspired denim dress looks really good 😊 Enjoy your sewing weekend. I too have a whole weekend of sewing and chatting to look forward to, my sister (who is an excellent bag maker) is arriving on Friday evening with her sewing machines and we have loads of plans. Probably more than we can complete but hey, it’s good to have ambition in sewing. I look forward to seeing what you manage to get done 😊
I really like your denim dress Tania....its a very versatile item. The sweatshirt/ jumper is going to look really nice too. That pattern has lots of subtle differences to other sweatshirts and Cara described it as an elevated style, which it is.
@@annettecowburn-sz8cq Hi Annette, thank you. I've got a bit of tweaking still to do with the dress pattern but I'm really pleased with it. The Ressac is lovely, would you be tempted to make it?
Regarding the Whistles dress, you might want to check where the full bust point is on the pattern. It might be that rather than needing a dart. I usually have to lower the bust point, and had to lower the point on the princess seam when I made the Nina Lee Camden pinafore. A blog review I read showed the maker had a lot of fabric on the upper chest area and at that time the pattern did not have the bust point marked. I only recently bought the pattern so the bust point had been added. I've just made a coat and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The pattern company (Love Notions) suggested making a muslin using the lining pieces, and that worked well and I could see that I had to size down.
Agreed! The bust points maybe look a little off where they need to be, maybe sitting a bit high. Lovely job though, especially on the neckline adjustment and zip
@@Yorkygirl59 Thank you, I'll take a look at the bust point. I think I also need to go down a cup size. Thanks for the tip on using the lining as a muslin, that will save a bit of time too 😊
Is there a better colour than bright pink?! I think your top will be great. The denim dress looks wonderful on you and the exposed zipper is a great accent. I think the comment section of sewing vlogs is actually very social, especially for people who spend a lot of time alone, for introverts, and for those who are housebound. And even if the vlogger doesn't have time to answer each comment, a thumbs up, or a heart is fine.
@@jennetthamilton971 I agree, bright pink is such a happy colour and always gets people talking! You're right, commenting is a lovely way to interact and the sewing community is so supportive and friendly 😊
Your 'Whistles' dress looks great! It looks like it'll be such a wearable, versatile piece. I've had good experiences with the Amazing Fit line of patterns.
Hi Tania, good to see you. Currently about 9.30pm here in Oz and I battling with my first try at a yoke and collar using the burrito method. Don’t ask me how it’s going. Not happy with quality of instructions. Anyhoo, would love to see your current sewing nook and the ideas that others bring forward. Oh, and I now have spousal guilt as I have yet to make my husband ANYTHING. I have a shirt pattern that I should get out and make up for the warmer weather…at least I will hopefully be able to do the burrito method😅!
@@JulieH1958 Hi Julie, good luck with the burrito method, I've only done it a couple of times. Don't feel guilty, you're honing your skills in preparation 😉 Thanks for watching 🌸
Beautiful denim dress! The fit is almost perfect. I think the drag lines on the chest are from the princess seams' fullest bust point being a bit higher then your fullest bust point. I think if you lower the princess seam apex a bit, that should fix the drag lines.
@@cookiebattle Thank you, that's such a helpful tip. I've never made a princess seam dress before, that I can remember, so that is good to know. Thank you 😊
Thank you Tania for a great video. Your dress fits beautifully. You said you were tracing your Ressac sweater is that because it is overpriced or just so you change sizes if needed? I am in two minds about whether to get the pdf or printed pattern . Thank you.
@@marygreen7225 Hi Mary, it's not overprinted but the price of indie patterns does have something to do with it 😂 It's mostly to do with it being quite hard to get hold of a paper copy of it, Beyond the Pink door have some copies but not many, so if I need to recut it I might be stuck.

@@justletmesew I'm not sure I would. Only because I have a fuller bust and that seam across the front would land in an unflattering place for me.
