We had no idea what these annoying lit critters were and now we do. I found an infestion of them in a Redwood post of an herb box that my husband built. So far I doused them with white vinegar but now I will go buy what you recommended. Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks for this video, going to see if I can find the product you used, do you have to rinse it off you siding? My house is taupe with almond trim. Thanks, these bugs are driving me NUTS!!!
We do not rinse it off afterward
will this kill elm seed bugs?
I have a serious problem especially in the fall. Thousands covering the house. Our house is right next to thick woods with many types of trees including maple and box elder trees. They leave behind streaks of excrement that stains the house. The only way to remove the excrement is to scrub. I picked up a docapole that extends 20 feet with scrubbing mops. Awesome product by the way. This year to keep them off I used home defense that comes with a garden hose attachment. The only criticism I have of that product is that it sprays in a fan pattern side to side, and it doesn't spray a long distance. When spraying overhead (I have a 2 story house), it's hard to keep the spray from drifting down on you. Next year I'm going to get the concentrate home defense and a garden hose attachment spray bottle with different patterns.
Is that product animal safe?
Yes. But just like it can be sprayed on produce humans can eat, you are not to consume it for 3 weeks after spray. If this is sprayed on vegetation your livestock is eating they should not be allowed in for similar time. My cats and dog are safely around it they are just out of area at moment of spraying.
I rented a hotel room and once it hits night time here they come outside my door and wall so nasty n scary AS FUCK !!!🤮🤮🤮 I need u to spay over here at my room 🤣
Soapy water in a backpack sprayer or chem sprayer, for the inside of my spa room soapy water in a wet vac and suck them up!
These things lay so many eggs, you wouldn’t believe it. Then when they hatch, all these tiny, soon to mature box elder bugs emerge as tiny red, spider looking bugs and mature into a pooping, breading dark winged adult.
If this spray works as a repellent and keeps them away for a year or more, I’m on board! They have been laying eggs on the shakes of my house all spring and I got rid of a good portion of them but they are hard to notice. I’m still in the fight, using a spray of soapy/ vinegar water containing a good amount of citrus dish soap. It kills them pretty much on contact, especially the smaller ones. The ground is where I find many maturing bugs.
I hope some day I’ll be done with them. They really bug me!!
