Love the idea that Tyndale has been doing with even their compact bibles. Having access to the filament app makes it much easier to live with a smaller bible as an everyday carry.
Completely agree on the study notes! I appreciate your short videos and pleasant, unassuming personality. Keep up the good work. Noooo, on the digital Bibles. Then again, I'm a crotchety old timer. 😂
lol. Thank you. Seriously. I’m humbled. I’m glad they help out a little. And I was there for years. Hahaha. This channel was built in bible reviews. But …Logos finally got me. 😆.
I work in technology however I love paper it’s easier to accidentally run across something when you’re paging through it. Topaz is a good layout. I also like the leathertex nasb 2020 reference bible 5.5x8.5
I have many digital Study Bibles, but I still prefer the print versions. I don't have a daily driver because I can't decide which one. I agree with you. I don't need the notes, but I want a larger font. I will check out your older Bible reviews to see if I can find one. I like single-column when I can get it. I have Study Bibles with leathersoft covers because sometimes they aren't made in genuine leather. I also prefer thumb-indexed because I don't like tabs. Thanks for the video!
A Bible that seems to fit your criteria decently well seems worth a mention. Earlier this week i picked up a NKJV thinline large print with a goat skin cover from Amazon. You said a goat skin cover would cost a couple hundred, it was $94 before tax. Amazon sometimes has some surprising deals. As an aside, Truth for Life is selling an ESV that compares well with some of the premium offerings (leather, not goat skin) for $35. I ordered one of those a couple days ago as well, still waiting for it to arrive.
I don't have a company. I just started learning how to do it about 7 yrs ago in order to rebind my own bibles. I did a few as gifts for friends a while back. Due to extreme disability, I'd only do a couple more, like my ESV wide margin trutone that I've been using for 7 yrs. The cover is now starting to flake, so I need to rebind it. I'll get it done.....slowly. @@ClaimingChristianity
The Nasb Heritage passaggio is my daily driver. For study and preaching I use the Nasb Schuyler Quentel. I don’t have a favorite but I like them both equally.
I use digital too now for 6 yrs. Started bc of available font size which normal back then was 9. Need 10.5 for ease. I use Olive Tree Bible app. Free up front. Greatest joy is all my study notes from all my translations are right here in my Apple iPad mini, roughly 6x8” that I use everywhere. What a blessing!
You’ve had a good run my friend! That’s a great reason to by the cheaper faux leather. I hope you have a few people to leave um to. Here’s to the next 20 years!
I'm using larger type sizes these days, because they're more useful in more situations. I have a Lockman NASB 2020 Wide Margin Reference now. Its big, but the typesetting is great for the price. Its the same typesetting as the Schuyler Stridon, but I actually prefer the all black text and the 32gsm Korean paper. The Cambridge Topaz is also a great typesetting, and they publish it in the NASB 2020 now too. I'd love to get one, but I'll need to save a bit more.
I got a cambridge 2020 about Christmas time but haven't got to it yet, I was trying to do 95/2020 back to back this year but I'm just now almost done with 95. It's hard to read serious with small kids around. I can say it's as nice as my other calfskin topaz (ESV) physically.... also too stiff. I've got two calfskin (one regular, one calf split) and I think goatskin is probably the way for cambridge. I don't like goatskin from schuyler because it's too floppy for fullsize (what about the new PSQ though) and the calfskin arguably feels better..... things you don't know till you buy a few.
Yeah. Wife margins are great. I personally just don’t use them “on the fly”. So I figure I’d save a little space and weight. Get a topaz. I think you’ll be happy with it.
My edc is an esv pocket Bible with 8 or 9 point font and a soft, leather imitation cover. It’s not my everyday Bible - just my on the go Bible, for work, and to save space/weight on vacation. I have my main esv readers Bible for my main Bible at home, then a few study bibles for reference. I prefer physical, but that is personal preference. Digital is still obviously a valid choice for others. 100% agree with your study notes in pocket bibles opinion
Ya an esv study Bible is way too big for a DD. Would you suggest a devotional Bible as a good DD? I’ve been looking for an excuse to get a NLT Thrive Bible. I might have to look into digital Bible because mii oh st bibles had me way to small print. Thank you for such a great topic.
I personally would not. But that’s just my opinion. I think. dad should be pretty “scripture only” with just footnotes and cross references. (Although I don’t really use cross references when I’m out either).

I agree. The Filament app is legit!! They must have a patent because nobody else picked up on it.

Yeah. Layout would prob be up there. But often with translation and font size. You get too limited. Kinda have to take the layout they offer.

Yeah. I grabbed a few if them two years ago. Great bibles!!
I like Thinlines and Large Print Compacts. 8 to 9pt type. For the covers, I do my own rebinds. Very durable.
Nice!! What’s your rebinding company called so I can like it in FB ?

Yep. All right there. So nice.
I have the Cambridge Concord wide margin in goatskin. The price for this is 240 pounds in UK. Around $325 US.
Nice! how do you use those wide margin?? Notes...symbols...art?
I'm 76. I am almost at the end of my life span, so I buy cheap faux leathers because they are easier for me to handle.

Why do you call a Bible a "driver"?
“Daily driver” is just a well known term used for lots of different everyday use items.
