One (other) thing that pisses me off is not just the fact that Fox News outright lies and omits information, it's the fact that they keep saying things along the lines of "oh, the mainstream media should answer for its lies" when (even though it hurts me to type this) THEY ARE the mainstream media. You can't act like the underdog, the defender of justice that you clearly aren't, while at the same time boasting about how you're the number one news channel in the US. You can't be both the guy at the top and the guy complaining about the guy at the top.
So true. There's one flaw in your theory. Two actually. For them to recognize their own hypocrisy, they would have to first, be cognisant of this discrepancy, and two, they would (read:Roger Ailes) have to literally separate the varitable sea of money and give even one shit about how truly backwards the message they push forward is. Oh, and you forgot to mention that they say they are fair and balanced despite having a very clear and staunchly conservative bias.
Jacob Nunya "One might be less comfortable as an officer when dealing with them, and they are going to be in bad situations disproportionately." -- So.. Racial bias and unequal treatment under the law. However you word it, that is the implication. Also, he trashed Fox because they're incredibly hypocritical. The focus of the comparison was apologies for misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric. They were dishonest and hypocritical in their trashing of a dishonest movement.
Jacob Nunya Whether you consider it intentionally villainous behavior or not, you're describing racial bias and unequal treatment. That's a problem. It isn't a matter of programming law enforcement to not notice race. There's a difference between noticing someone's race, and treating them worse, as an authority figure, because of it. The law is meant to treat you as an individual. If law enforcement is not doing that, then they are not adequately enforcing the law, devaluing their reason for existing in that role.
Yes, but it is generally prudent to use some unequal treatment. For example, an officer might be different in interacting with an old grandma than a 250 pound muscular dude who looks angry. Neither necessarily mean they are criminals or will be violent, but you have to weigh the odds. I think justice should be dispensed the same and police shouldn't make arrests or write tickets for their assumptions, but I disagree that profiling is bad. If your job is to simply enforce the law than you sometimes have to figure the odds when finding criminals. You shouldn't of course violate people's rights to find the criminal, but you should do your best with your authority.

Just as a Men's Rights Activists would reach a conclusion stating that bias is against men. Meanwhile, the DOJ investigation which cleared Officer Wilson was their more reputable Criminal Justice unit. But, in any case, why the hell is Jon Stewart still talking about Ferguson. Meanwhile, Stewart doesn't care if any crimes are committed by blacks against whites. OR, by blacks against other blacks. He'll just keep talking about Ferguson. Dumb.
Jon retired and left his treasures to his four children; John got the investigative smarts, Stephen got the wit, Trevor got the Best Fucking News Team, and Sam got the scathing satire and anger. And the sense of humour was shared by all.
Personally, I think this is why Jon Stewart is so much better than Trevor Noah. Stewart would always just bring out quotes from the people he was making fun of to make them look hypocritical; while Noah relies upon playing a clip that he disagrees with, and then arguing against it. Stewart's method of turning people's own words against them is, imo, much funnier and much more convincing.

One of the all time best clips ever on TV hands “down”
he beats down fox news more than lebron beats down curry in the finals
First off, Curry was not 100% healthy. Secondly, I wouldn't call a 7 game series a beatdown, dumbass.
Sam Maluth they blew a 3-1 lead. LeBron is the goat, you shut up
Sam Maluth ok so was LeBron n his team the championship before that
Tristan Celestin lebron just got swept in the finals
Curry went 3-1 against Bron....
We need you to come back Jon!!!
that was one of the most justified mic drops I've ever seen
The all time master of exposing hypocrisy that is Jon Stewart. I've seen every episode of the Daily Show (for the most part) and his criticism of Fox is always an articulation of my inner monologue (when I watch Fox for curiosity's sake). This skit is my all time favorite. I actually applauded out loud with only myself in the room after watching this.
I miss John S., why can't he come back, he is still young and strong. Is he tired, or just fed up. We need him.
Brilliant Jon Stewart!
Dear Jon,
Please don't leave. We all love you.

PS: Please run for elected office. I would be honored to campaign for you.
Cool saber. Dark side or light?
It's 2019 and God I wish he'd come back!!!!! Jon we need you!!!!!!
I miss this man and his content!
John Stewart. We miss you. Please come back to television, where ever you are.
This gives me nostalgia.. Over the summer "Fox News" was literally an inside joke for my Game Theory class. Like, "Fox News" was the whole joke.
Who has started going through all the jon stewart oldies with everything going on. This man is a legend.
"Benghazi Yule Log."
lol
Every time I watch this I say
: boy Jon and the writers are genious
What a Mic-Drop ^^
“Like shockingly terrible”
Oh Jon, If you could only see them now
Imo the biggest difference between Jon and Trevor is that Jon was truly and deeply outraged and saddened by the events and tried to cope with it trough comedy. Trevor is more like "Whaaaaat? See how funny this is?" and I feel it's much more shallow.
Yeah, Trevor Noah was making barely-jokes justifying South African police shooting striking miners before he became Daily Show host. Something tells me Jon would disagree
Every now and then I come back to these videos lol sad that not much has changed in 6 years
