The other name for the game is knucklebones, its a game that goes back to Roman times, knucklebones, presumably what the game was first played with. I think there are different versions of the game. I seem to remember sitting on the ground or squatting, some of the jacks on the ground & holding your hand close to the ground, you have one of the jacks on the back of your hand and you have to toss it upward & quickly pick up the jacks on the ground & turn over your hand in time to catch the jack you tossed off of the back of your hand. Also you can toss all the jacks off the back of your hand & turn your hand over quickly to catch all five. The set I had consisted of light metal jacks & a small pink rubber ball, that you tossed. I never got good at it. Definitely a game of skill. Thankyou for sharing.
Purchase a simple bottle tumbler and some of those will come out amazing. Unless u want them to stay more natural. Love your videos and watched them all. Thank you for sharing.
What great finds!! I love the gaming dice, how amazing that you have two of them!! Oh and the ink jar is amazing along with the other bottles also! What a lovely haul of treasures! Didn't get to see too much of sweet Boris this time! Give him ear scratches for me! xxx ~Jen
11:04 almost looks like a sharks egg case....however the ones I've seen are from the horned shark from Australia but it may be a different species there where you are, but then again it could be anything! Its interesting for sure! Also you should've kept that handle! That may have been from the 1800!!
If u put crushed ice and salt with lemon juice in the bottles swirl it around it will clean the bottles like new and they will smell so good. It also works in kettles as well. Enjoyed your video
You did brilliantly for beach or mud larking the beach dock yous were interesting spot. Alot history people used there to travel, work, leisure for who knows how far back. Top job top finds take care best regards from Ireland 👍🇮🇪☘
The bottles were a great find! It's been a bit windy over the last few days so we are hoping the sea might have churned up some more nice finds, that's the thing with this hobby, you never know! Mudlarking/ beachcoming are really now a days one of the same. Traditionally mudlarkers were people that scoured the banks of the River Thames in London, where it is very muddy. So I suppose it might come down to how muddy you get 😄Also mudlarking is done in more urban environments. It is very relaxing, a super way of being in the moment, if you don't mind getting muddy I would recommend it to anybody for a bit of relaxation! Glad you enjoyed coming with us and thanks for the comment !
No permit required. just being respectful...You do get the odd busy body though. I pick up the odd peice of sea glass, i'm always amazed at the amount too.
@@serendip_id8614 Thank you! I've picked up some really pretty pieces from Seaham beach and have started casting them in resin to make pretty pendants. X
It does look like one of those dog toys, doesn't it, but if i remember correctly it had a screw thread on the inside....one of the things i love about this hobby is the mystery finds!

As you commented on the glass bottle stopper that your eyes were always on the ground, a clay marble lay at your foot! Too funny!

The best yet. B
Thank you, I'm starting to get a hang on the filming and editing angle and it helps having awesome finds!
We were stunned at the amount of sea glass on the beach there when we visited last week. Is a permit needed for larking here?

@@sammyanne1985 That's funny I'm sure Seaham was just mentioned in a YTube vid I've just watched, @pamthevan was collecting glass to make jewellery...

Great video.. could the black thing be a "kong" type dog chew toy?

The A1 sauce bottle will have come from America.. probably wartime, A1 steak sauce is still manufactured and is America's best selling sauce!
Is that muddy place on the ocean or Thames, a bay?
Its a tidal estuary that runs out into the North sea.
