None of those tunes where hits here.... except maybe "things can only get better".. so I stumbled on the CD/album back then (I was around 20)... and I got SO SMASHED by the quality of the album 😱😎❤️😱... this track, blended into "Unforgiven". then "Glorious" (with Portuguese sultry lyrics). and the amazing "Picture my world".....
That's when I knew I was in presence of ABSOLUTE FUCKING AMAZING song writers.... Too bad they where unable to replicate the same quality in the second one and went quickly to oblivion 😔🤷🏻♂️
I dont understand why this didn't break the top 10 as this version its simple classy smooth and has a bit of everything that made the 90s as memorable as it was

This tune was more of a pete tong Friday nighter that was played for quite a while before it ever graced the charts , alot of the good dance stuff didn't necessarily turn into big chart hits at this time

Saw them in 1993 with a crowd of about 500 in Manchester . Best gig ever.
The crowd where joyous and peter cunnagh delivered an epic live set.
Saw them.again in 94 with over 2000 people and again Peter smashed it.
The original version, and by far the best.
Disagree the other version is better. It doesn’t have the same drive.
@@mojopin1997 Nah, the 1994 version is OK, but it's overproduced: original from 1992 is better and has a funkier vibe to it. The piano is much better in the '92 version, for example.

They re-mixed it twice after this, in 1993 and 1994, and the 1994 version is the most famous. But I think I prefer this version.

I like this original release of 'U R The Best Thing'......but the '94 remix just took an already fantastic song to a whole other level & I still listen to it in 2021.
I liked both versions aswell but the '94 version did it for me much more, can't explain it though...I just liked it more
The '94 version sounds awful to me, like they've taken a artistic masterpiece and re-done it using crayons.
I once put my name to down sing this at Karaoke and was assured I would be singing to the original version, when it wasn't I walked off the stage...that's how much I dislike it.
I know it's personal preference, it just really surprises me that someone would prefer the '94. I knew and loved the song already in '92, did you know the '94 version first?
