D:Ream - Things Can Only Get Better (1993) (Official Video)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 ноя 2018
- 'Things Can Only Get Better' was a slow burner to begin with; taking a few months to reach the Top 40 in the UK, and initially receiving position #24 in 1993. Peter Cunnah decided to remix and re-release the track, catapulting it to #1 for 4 weeks in 1994.
The track was also used as the Labour Party's theme tune during their successful campaign in the 1997 General Election.

You have no idea how much dopamine it gave me seeing Jacob-Rees Mogg lose his seat.
I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, though I feel irritatingly bound to clarify that dopamine is an _anticipatory_ hormone, generally released _before_ something happens - eg booking your holiday, not the actual holiday itself. Other than that, I join you in your relief and joy at this momentous result and to see the 'MP for the Eighteenth Century' sent back to oblivion with nanny.

The 90s was a fantastic decade. There was so much hope.
History was ending, but sadly its not to be
Everyone thinks the decade they were young was the best
30 years later and here I am still listening to this song, waiting for things to get better.
Winter of 93/94 - we had just flipped our Leopard 1 tank over on its roof in the 3 meter deep snow, almost crushing me standing in the commanders hatch trying to navigate in a whiteout to find the shooting range. Tank was loaded with ammo. We evacuated to the no. 4 tank in the platoon to avoid freezing to death as this was well north of the arctic circle. Was sitting on the floor in the loaders section of the turret with my crew, fully aware of the shitstorm about to come from higher up. It had already startet on the command net. My buddy the commander of no 4 tank put on the radio. And this song was what the radio blared out.
Happy days - life sure had its ups and downs since but this song is still able to put a grin on my face :-)

I didn't expect to find many of my fellow British people here hating the Tories but I'm happy I did! I too was beought here by that legendary moment during Sunak's speech.
Well, it took a little longer than I thought, but the time has finally come.
I’ve been in 3 different hospitals for 4 months since my 27th birthday back in late February this year, battling a combination of Meningitis, Encephalitis, Pneumonia, Swelling In The Brain and a Collapsed Lung and I was in intensive care for 4 weeks and it made the muscles in my legs stop working (The After-Effects). I’m still continuing working hard in getting my body rejuvenated and walking again with a lot of physio and exercise at home.
While I was in Rehab, I’ve been listening to 90s music which was my era (I was born in ‘97) and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ has been helping me get through it all and has become my New Anthem. Music from the 90s is so full of positivity, inspiration, happiness and real talent of course 💚
I’ve returned home and once my body’s has fully rejuvenated 100% in terms of getting my all strength, energy and coordination back. I’m having a big Welcome Home Party and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ is on my playlist along with various other 90s music and some 2000s.
Just need this back to number 1 to complete the journey

I was a small child when the Tories first came in. I haven’t known life without a bloody Tory government. It's finally time.
It’s not over until it’s over unfortunately.
I was born in 1961, between 1963 and with only a few years of Edward Heath, we had Labour governments, until Thatcher and Major. The Tories have been in power longer in my lifetime, than Labour, after Blair and Brown, because we got Cameron and his coalition, then the current, getting increasingly worse Tory governments.
88 child here, I lived through the labour years (went to school during the 90s and early 00s), honestly, best government of my lifetime. The tories have utterly destroyed every single thing they could get their hands on since they came to power. I really hope it's finally time to remove them and hopefully for good but then this is the country that shot itself in the foot with Brexit.
Ignore the people that will undoubtebly say "you dont know how bad labour will be".
Just remember to vote, to get your friends to register and vote, this is probably out single chance to actually remove them.
@@julianaylor4351 My dad was also born in 1961, something he told me that actually seemed crazy at first until I looked it up was essentially the ONLY Labour leader that has won General elections since he has been able to vote from 1979 onwards has been Tony Blair. All others have been won by Thatcher, Major, Cameron (Coalition and Majority), May (even with a minority she still had the government) and Bojo.
