      Lagavulin is worth somwhere around $20M. To buy 51% he would need to have at least $10m cash.
      Ron Swason would never have loans with the bank. Paying people for money is asinine.
      You also make poor assumptions about his positions. Assume he goes from metal shop floor manager to a manager at the quary and then back to a senior manager at the metal shop. He would have also worked during college because up to this point working and school was done hand in hand.

    There must be other factors to Ron's wealth, because when he has the will drawn up for his kids, the lawyer is extremely shocked, and says that trusts will need to be drawn up to handle such a large estate. He's gotta be worth a lot more. He spent $10 Million on Lagavulin AND when he said he was leaving his kids 5% everyone was like WOW that's still a lot of money. 5% of 1.6 million is $80,000. That's just above one year's salary for the average American. He didn't want his kids to be spoiled so we know we didn't leave them 10's of millions but he had to leave them more than 80k. I'd say he probably left them a million based on the reactions of the people. Enough to be like "holy crap, that's 5 percent!" but not enough to live off of for your entire life, you'd still have to work. That would make his net worth $20 million which makes the $10 million Lagavulin purchase more reasonable. You forgot that Ron has multiple properties and hidden money. He def has more than 1.6 mil.

      The flaw in this video is the assumption that he went directly into public misservice after college.
      I think he started a company which he lost to Tammy 1 in the divorce, or maybe for some other reason like regulation violation. But he had squirreled away a large portion of the profits.
      Then he went into the Parks Dept either to reduce the amount of alimony paid to Tammy, or to stick it to the government which ruined his business.
      Obviously all of this is unprovable. But its plausible.

    I must dissagre whit your conclusion about how much money Ron owns, since in the episode whit Rons will the layer Trevor says "Mr Swanson, an estate of this size means your children would never haft to work a day in their lives". And since the average american spends about 2.77 milion dollars in their lives means that ether Trevor is lying or that you calculated his wealth wrong. And untop of that later in that episode when Ron tells Ben that he is going to leave 5% of his wealth to each of his children Ben responses whit "Wow 5 whole percent, so i gess you are gonna theach them a lesson. OH MY GOD, thats 5%? That is a lot of money. Wait is this a joke?" Which means that even just 5% is a houmourus high amount of money.

    • @Oberon4278
      @Oberon4278 5 лет назад +3

      They don't have to get 2.77 million dollars in order to live off the money. They could get a lesser amount (maybe a million each?) and live off of the interest. It's reasonable to get about 13% return annually on a million dollars, which is $130,000 a year. Anyone can live comfortably on that amount without ever working.

    Conspiracy theory: most if not all of Rons gold actually comes from the mining job he had, which he kept through college and went back to after. They mine gold. Ron steals huge amounts and buys copious amounts of land (cabin land) which he fracks for gold and silver, creating his wealth. He uses this to launch his music career and becomes wildly sucsessful, and the only reason pawnee doesnt know about him is because they are uncultured (not too far fetched in my opinion judging by the shows depiction) he moves there in 2000 and starts working at the parks department because of his love of nature and the fact that no one there will recognize him

    Reading through the comments, people have pointed out the obvious factors but I didn't see anyone mention the Swanson Farms and its many exports (including the speedboat cleaner scotch). Assuming Ron is an only child, all Swanson properties and their exports would also be part of his net worth. The speedboat maintainance industry is highly specialized so if Swanson Farms are contracted to serve even a quarter of the (privately owned) speedboat management companies in the country, that's a hefty, recurring sum. Plus the scotch is made from "the finest corn grown on American soil" which suggests that other produce borne of the highly specialised conditions within these farms are also fairly valuable.

    I stopped at the 2 min. mark to throw out some variables (I love these by the way) 1. you said as a child he would be provided for and have no expenses, I might differ, his dad was probably old school just like him, and was probably like, you are 5 self sufficient, get a job. that is probably why he had a job at 9, so his father probably only gave him what he needed til he could pay it back if he even gave him anything. example: if Ron thought he needed a bike to get to school and work, he would first see if he could afford it, if he couldn't should he ask his father for a loan, is his dad a hard ass, would he agree to a loan, his interest rate, etc. in the end I think Ron would see the bike was an unnecessary expense and continue to walk to school and work. 2. Perhaps his parents were beatniks like Ned Flanders' parents, he still might have expenses even at 9 to be the complete opposite of his parents.

      Pelle Meijer I would actually say that Leslie and Michael are actually comparable in the sense that in the first season they annoy their coworkers (and the audience) mostly but we see throughout the show that they are very likeable. They are also querky in a way that makes it hard for them to date normally, they both are weird in their own way and need to find a very specific person to settle down with. But when they find them it’s for life and they’d do anything to make that relationship work (Ben and Holly). They also consider their coworkers family and are work nuts (I know Michael is the not the hard worker Leslie is but he still lives and breathes Dunder Mifflin).
      Other comparisons that could be made by extension:
      Jim and Pam being Andy and April (office couple that took some seasons to work out but then are the first married and actually stay married)
      Kelly being Dona
